  1. My teenage son has been training at Tenbears for nearly two years. The student-oriented way that Professor Jim and his staff run Tenbears is outstanding. My son is devoted to his training and now keeps begging me to sign up too because he wants to “roll” with me, a result of the tremendous investment that Jim and the other instructors make in their students.   2. Enjoying training at TenBears so far! Very knowledgeable coaches and friendly classmates. Price is also fair and very competitive with the area and martial arts in general. I really appreciate how the coaches adjust for all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

  3. My 13 year son has trained here for a couple years now. Tenbears has been such a great place for my son to learn martial arts and gain confidence. He is always the youngest one in the adult class, but the atmosphere is so welcoming. No matter the skill level, ability or strength, Oscar finds a way to make everyone feel a part of and learn something. Jim, Oscar, Carson and all of the classmates treat him like a grown up. He just loves it.
    I highly recommend Tenbears as a place for anyone to learn mixed martial arts, get stronger and become healthier mentally and physically. I appreciate all the time and attention they have given to not only developing his skill, but teaching him how to be a good man.

  4. Tenbears Martial Arts Academy has been an awesome experience for my son! He is learning so much and is always excited to go to practice. The coaches have been patient and encouraging. With the generous trial period, the reasonable pricing and the welcoming atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with Tenbears 👍🏾

  5. The teachers are very supportive, patient and persistent about teaching the students as well as kind and caring. My daughter has had a wonderful experience since enrolling and enjoys going to class. What a wonderful environment for all.

    My son has trained at this gym for almost 6 years now, and we can’t imagine going anywhere else. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. The families who train here, along with the staff, have become a second family for us. The training is top notch, and the kids class works hard but always ends with a game. Whether you want to compete or just gain new skills, strength and confidence; this is the place!

    I started training at S&G at their old location in Moraine back in September of 2021 and have nothing but great things to say. The atmosphere is always laid back and welcoming. Instruction is top notch, with a variety of classes to suit any interest or schedule. My favorite thing about S&G is the fact that every single person helps each other get better. I have come across almost zero “ego” – driven individuals while training here. Everyone freely and openly shares knowledge to make each other better. The new gym location has plenty of mat space and is always extremely clean. All in all, definitely the best location to train in the Dayton area.

    Incredible place to train! Every instructor is highly talented and experienced. As someone who may not be among the strongest of people, it’s amazing how the coaches have been able to create a game plan for me. “There’s a game out there for everyone”. Each person I have trained with has been welcoming. Everyone, helping everyone to improve. The facility is always clean and nice as well! I highly recommend you check it out!

    I have been going to S&G for several years. Both my kids are in the kids program and I take in the adult classes. The kids program is really impressive, with a lot of technique boiled down to basics that my 5 and 7 year old understand. They have fun too because most classes end in playing a game. You can’t find better people to learn from and with, or better quality instruction anywhere. The variety of class times means that I can always hit a couple every week even when life is crazy and work is busy. Above all it is obvious that the coaches and staff care about the students. I love it.

    Incredible atmosphere and learning environment. Had the pleasure of training at Dayton MMA on two separate TDYs. Detailed and quality instruction. Chris (the owner) was welcoming, encouraging, insightful. He’s a black belt accredited and affiliated with one of the world’s leading Jiu Jitsu practitioners, Master Renzo Gracie. He’ll go out of his way to make sure you’re taken care of. Just in a short time, my game was elevated by his technique progressions. This gym is versatile and can meet anyone’s needs. From self defense, to fitness, and even the competition setting. He and his team have built a quality children’s program that I would personally recommend. Not only providing clear cut fundamentals, but healthy character-building as well. You can instantly tell that Chris is a coach who cares. It’s easily reflected upon his students. They’ve super welcoming and helpful. Most of them I’ve had contact with even remembered me my second trip to Ohio. I can’t praise this place enough. I found a second home in Dayton Ohio.     I am new to any martial art and this gym has set the standard for me. For starters the coaching is top teir. Chris Lehman is very knowledgeable in the world of MMA and wants what’s best for his students. He has fostered a culture of hard working, welcoming, and respectful individuals. All of the more advanced students have also been a huge help to me on my martial arts path. They are all willing to lend a helping hand and take time out of their sessions to help somone like me find their bearings. I would recommend this gym to any and all who are looking to not only learn a skill but be a part of a great team.

    Can’t recommend Dayton MMA enough. Chris does an amazing job developing the team and he treats his students like family. I am so glad to have gotten my start in BJJ here. He teaches in a way that not only shows what you are doing but also explains the fundamental principles of why you do it and how it fits into the big picture.
