  1. A family environment, to say the least!! The whole family enjoys this gym in so many different ways (self defense, conditioning, strength training, martial arts) they literally offer it all, and it’s all included in the price! The coaches are top notch and care about each individual’s goals and health concerns. They have also set the standard for cleanliness!
    In short this gym has been the cornerstone of my family’s physical and mental health, especially in such a turbulent year. Thank you UFC for all you do for me and my family!

  2. Let’s start with the manager, Steve, he’s an awesome person and his crew is perfect, friendly, helpful and most important the coach’s have high level skills within their fields of expertise. You really need to come and meet them!!!!
    Extremely clean with very nice equipment and never crowded which is great!
    Definitely the place to be to lose weight, build muscle.
    The training for kid every day also Saturday. YOU’LL LOVE IT

  3. 1 star is too high we came into the gym to use a free pass and were given a tour of the gym and no use of the gym their “bjj” room is the size of the smallest nyc apartment it is very crowded because they are trying to utilize the space for something it wasn’t desgned for the free pass is only for a class which is the opposite of what it states on the website. The manager has no respect for others and solely wants memberships the amount of times that he lied saying me and my compatriot looked athletic was frustrating. The equipment looks very rundown even though it looks great on the website, I was genuinely suprised at their heavy bag section because the heavy bags were less than 2 feet apart from eachother. overall bad gym I would not recommend this gym. “80% of the clients don’t actually want to fight” – the manager at this gym, if this gives you some sort of idea as to how they run the gym there is a very low focus on anything combat sports related the only thing that is close to being combat sports related is the UFC logo they have above their gym

  4. This gym is excellent! Regardless of your level of fitness, every trainer is very friendly and shows interest in you. I adore how they provide me with advice on how to maximize each workout. I’ve been attending for a little while now, and I’ve already seen a significant improvement in my physique and energy. I have been blown away by my experience at this new facility, and I am definitely satisfied so far! Steve, the manager, is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!

    My son started Jiu Jitsu with Phil as his coach from the start over 4 years ago. And because of Phil’s gentle spirit, but mighty in quality training has stirred a passion in my son for the sport. Especially in sportsmanship and the mental aspect of it. My son saw on the mat EVERY TIME during teaching or watching Phil in a tournament, the true way to build character and leadership is all in your attitude. Thank you Phil for encouraging our son and his life long desire for Jiu Jitsu. Here is a photo of my son’s first tournament almost 4 years ago and to push him to do it, because he knew he had it in him. He had only been doing it for less than a year and Phil nurtured that. Thank you for the quality private lessons and being a great mentor!

    I started training at Achieve Jiu Jitsu over a year ago and it has been an incredible experience. Phil has competed at the elite level and has an amazing gift of being able to teach Jiu Jitsu. Phil does an amazing job at slowing things down and explaining the importance of each technique. This is crucial for me because I usually need to see things 3 or 4 times to grasp it.

    I started my Jiu Jitsu journey with Achieve in the late summer of 2022. Phil is an incredible instructor. He has the patience that is required for new students and also has the skill and knowledge to help students who have experience. If you’re thinking about learning jiu jitsu, I would highly recommend Achieve Jiu Jitsu Academy. Phil has flexible options for his program and makes it easy to train in an environment that is not intimidating, but friendly and welcoming environment. Everyone I have met through this Academy has been friendly and supportive. Again, if you are interested in learning jiu jitsu, you should contact Phil and get it started!

    I can’t emphasize enough how awesome the team at Achieve are. Sure they are fantastic at Jiu Jitsu, but you can find plenty of places with that qualifier. The reason Achieve truly shines above all else is their love for teaching kids. You can see it with the way they structure, teach, communicate and control the chaos that is a room full of chaos. Such skilled, dedicated and wonderful teachers/mentors for our kids.

    I first came here as a college student looking to learn jiu jitsu and was blown away. The gym, and the group of people who train here, are very special. The instruction is world class and the training environment is safe but challenging. The students are very diverse. Many different backgrounds, styles, skill levels, and body types. Everyone is very friendly and wants to see you progress. This is a tough place, but I’ve seen people progress more here in 1 year then others with 3x the experience at other gyms. I couldn’t recommend this place more, walking in and starting here was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

    I practically grew up in Gracie 717 since i was 14 years old, Damione has always helped me improve my all around game and help keep me focused on the fundamentals of the sports. Growing up homeschooled I lived in the gym going multiple times a day since my early teens and I can’t say I have ever had a bad day there that wasn’t brought on by my own ego. Everyone is always so helpful and encouraging in there regardless of who you are. I have found some of my closest friends through the gym and journeys I’ve been on through them. I have literally no idea who i would be if it wasn’t for this place.

    This is by far the best kickboxing (and jiu jitsu) gym I’ve ever been to! The coaches are skilled and extremely willing to teach, and it’s an extremely welcoming environment for all skill levels. I’d recommend Gracie 717 to anyone looking to train with the best.

    Gracie 717 were some of the pioneers of BJJ in Central PA. Almost 15 years ago, Damione brought his top shelf BJJ Black Belt Lineage all the way from Tampa, FL right here to Central PA. While spending his first few years in PA at a high level Pro MMA Fight Team as their head BJJ instructor, he then started Gracie 717 combining years of BJJ knowledge and expertise and adding a respectable MMA and Kickboxing Program to go along World Class Jiu Jitsu classes right in Lancaster. Since then, their school has produced high level competitors and added some awesome new instructors and facilities. Thank you Gracie 717 and Damione for bringing Roots BJJ back and sharing your vast combat sports knowledge and time with the universe, we appreciate you!
