What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. The food is always exceptional, staff is delightful, and ambiance is lovely. The only suggestion is that they turn the music volume down just a bit. My dinner dates and I have trouble hearing each other over the music. Love the trout, salmon, and shrimp and grits. It’s hard to find good seafood dishes in the area, but they have some of the best. The non-seafood dishes that I’ve tried were also delicious. They have the best brunch in Greensboro.

  2. Took a friend here for her birthday and it was wonderful. Very interesting menu. The Brussel sprouts and truffle fries are excellent. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The service was outstanding. Great place and not fussy; I dressed up but the kids in the family next to us were wearing their Little League outfits.

  3. My mom and I drove 1.5 hours to come to this lovely restaurant for a brunch date, and it was so well worth the trip! There were so many positives about this experience. First, we made reservations online. There were a lot of options to choose from as far as available timeslots. We arrived and were seated immediately – absolutely no wait time considering how busy they were. It was beautiful inside the restaurant, and it felt so fancy but also relaxed. We ordered brunch and the food was absolutely delicious. I wished I had had some vanilla ice cream to go with those amazing cinnamon rolls! Everything was beyond our expectations. They definitely could charge more for their dishes – the prices are low considering the quality of food and service that you receive. I will definitely be coming back!

  4. Stopped in for some drinks and liked the menu so we ordered take out of their Sunday special which is a Turkey Dinner. Loved the bistro. Great vibe. Staff & waiter were attentive. Drinks were amazing – even their house wine was smooth. My favorite part of our meal was the unexpected 1/2 roasted garlic bulb they included with our bread. YUM! That reminded me of the Stinking Rose Restaurant in San Francisco 😂

  5. The food was amazing. Big portion size and reasonable pricing. Can not wait to return. All the staff were very inviting and the ambiance is very romantic. The bistro is located inside Proximity Hotel on the lower floor and it scenery is beautiful when you come off the elevator

I liked it! It wasn’t the best food or best atmosphere, but it was still very enjoyable! Loved loved the triple berry mimosa and the bacon had a great flavor too.. it wasn’t thick cut or anything but still good! My waffle was a bit on the hard crusty side then soft and fluffy, presentation could use some work too instead of a side dish just place on top of waffle with a power sugar or sugar crystal dust in the berries… the cinnamon bun French toast was good but not great it was different then expected and bit small portion seems like an appetizer you could have there if they gave two or something like that. Maybe I’m being critical but I just feel like they could be a bit better to be a 5 star! As far as the atmosphere it was very 90s French style and dated…although that can work it just feels like they definitely could update their chairs and seating a bit to make it have a better feeling so you don’t feel like they haven’t updated since the 90s… hopefully that makes sense! Some minor tweaking I think Mimi’s could be very good.

Justin was GREAT. He was very upbeat, friendly, and efficient. The food was already great, but the service makes it even better. The hot muffins are amazing and the breakfast burrito with braised beef is *chef’s kiss*

A good place for breakfast. Went on a Sunday morning and got a table as we entered, but later realised we were early, because as we were walking out there was a lot of people waiting outside. They have the usual breakfast options, butter croissants were the best. The place has a New Orleans vibe and looks different. They even have lunch and dinner menu.

Loved this place! They also have a bar. I tried mixed Berry juice, and it comes with individual bottles of champagne. The food was excellent! Nice portions and great customer service. I will be going back to try some other things on the menu. Also, my daughter ordered chicken and waffles that came with 2 chicken breaststroke and four waffles. She was only able to eat half, and she was full. She said waffles light and fluffy, chicken seasoned to perfection.

Been here a few times over the past 5 years and this time honestly wasn’t as great as the others but it, of course, wasn’t awful. The pancakes and waffle were pretty dry and the potatoes were bland but overall our meals were decent. Mimosas were strong as always.

First time at Chez Genèse and the atmosphere and staff were really friendly, loved them! The food was good but there were some things that I didn’t like about them. I found that the French toast became soggy SUPER quick after just drizzling a small amount of syrup, so I suggest maybe dipping it if you don’t mind it getting soggy. The breakfast pizza was pretty good and other than that, the other dishes were alright. I wouldn’t mind coming back with friends every now and then for brunch.

This restaurant makes me smile ear to ear every time. Food is consistently delicious, and the service is superb, my favorite spot to brunch every time I’m in Greensboro. We always start our meal with a cappuccino, a croissant and a hazelnut chocolate tart, it is delicious!. We have tried the sandwiches, omelets and Benedict’s, those for sure are our favorites and we are always trying out more stuff from their menu, I always leave with a baguette, it’s a nice touch to end my weekend. Staff is always attentive and courteous, never a dull moment surrounded by smiles and all the plants!.

One of my favorite places in Greensboro! The food is amazing. You must get a croissant. The service is outstanding. Worth the wait if there is one. You won’t regret choosing this cute French cafe.

Nothing short of pure poetry…from start to finish… First, I was seated in front of the window near 3 beautiful live plants, view of the city street in front of me. I settled into my chair and opened my life guide book. Or my planner. Journal. Glimmers of sunlight through the clouds, it’s a rainy day. The server approaches me pleasantly presenting in a calm and melancholy manner. I am served a tall of glass of cold water with a carafe. I ask her about espresso. She says they all come in double shots. I look down and notice they have Stevia. I order espresso and ask about the milk. She suggests Oat Milk. I say yes, absolutely, of course. When the latte comes I see the heart shaped foam, take my first sip. Silky smooth, absolutely delicious. I order the half avocado multi-grain toast with feta and honey drizzle, 2 eggs your way, add bacon. It arrives and I savor the coffee and my writings a little longer, photographing my meal. I taste it and it’s amazing. The bacon thick and chewy, the feta and honey combination, a delightful surprise. I finish with more writing and a savor the last bit of creamy coffee. It was absolutely perfect. I took along with me a baked good from the counter and thank the owner. What a beautiful way to start the day.

Such a lovely restaurant! I had the eggs Benedict. It came with the best side of fruit. I also had orange juice and a cappuccino. The staff was great. The space is filled with plants and just beautiful! I will definitely be back.
