What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. This was our first time at Georges, we were celebrating an anniversary Caroline was our server she was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure our needs were met she is awesome! Ben the general manager was also awesome he meant to treat us to desert but got side tracked which is understandable due to busy with multiple other things going on at busy establishment and forgot but on our drive home he called and apologized which I thought showed great Character and told us he would make it right the next time we dine at Georges. We definitely will be back soon thanks for making our dining experience a great one. 👍

  2. Georges French Bistro was good food and good service. It was busy for a Wednesday night, and with the hard marble floors and lots of windows, all of the conversations seemed to echo. Aside from the noise, the rest was good. Our newest favorite appetizer (when available) is mussels, and theirs are quite good. I wasn’t terribly hungry, so I decided to just order the seafood crepes, and hubby chose the scallops. He *was* hungry, so although the 4 scallops and fingerling potatoes were probably plenty, he was still not satisfied. I shared my crepes, and we were both happy. He finished his meal with a chocolate martini, which he was pleased with.

  3. The Wife and I went out for a date night after a stressful week. First time coming to Georges and have to say that the experience was Amazing. We had a Charcuterie board for the first time and it was great. I had the Grand-Mere Chicken and it was fantastic, tender and juicy, the flavors were spot in that sauce but especially on those potatoes. The Wife had the Duck A L’orange and we both agreed that was the best dish. The duck was amazing, that orange sauce is amazing, the puree was fantastic and the bean and sausage side was delicious, it was an overall great dish. The desserts were amazing and well worth it. I have to give great credit to the restaurant because my Wife never finishes meals when we go out, she always takes some home with us but here she said that she had to finish all of her food because it was so good. Finally, our server was Kennedy and he was amazing at what he does. Had recommendations on what to eat for every course always stopped by to check on us and refill drinks or clear off dirty dishes. The man is definitely a credit to himself and the restaurant. Between the food and the service, we will definitely be coming back.

  4. We had a birthday celebration. Everyone loved their selections. The oysters were incredibly fresh and the desserts were decadent. My mom enjoyed the fire sparkler they brought when her birthday dessert arrived. It was a wonderful place to celebrate any special event but also was comfortable to enjoy on any occasion.

  5. The menu has a variety of French inspired dishes. Although it is in a strip mall, the interior and exterior have a bistro feel to it. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The pace of the meal was smooth. I ordered the duck and I was able to substitute the side, which was appreciated. The only minor disappointment was the French onion soup. It lacked flavor and had minimal onions in it. There’s ample parking at the location. The salmon had hash browns grilled to the top of it, which was memorable. The sauce was flavorful. They also have a variety of desserts on the menu. I would return to the location and recommend it to others.

If your in downtown Wichita around lunchtime, get yourself to Cafe Bel Ami on William Street!! Matter of fact, even if you aren’t downtown, go to Cafe Bel Ami. This place kills it. Ambience is reserved, a little upscale – linen tablecloths and napkins, soft piano music. Taste is spectacular. Service is good. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous. Chef is remarkable. Everything was prepared just right. Presentations were professional. Can’t miss at Cafe Bel Ami. I’m a fan, and will be a regular. Photos of Seafood Pescatore, Beef Medallions and Hummus appetizer attached. Excellent! Highly recommended.

What a fabulous place to go for date night! The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing! The Scallops Bouchee was the perfect appetizer, and my husband loved his Salmon with Shrimp, Rice, and Mixed Vegetables while I enjoyed the Cheese Ravioli and Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables. I can’t wait to go back and try something else!

We were in Wichita for only one night and staying at the Ambassador Hotel just down the street. We chose Bel Ami because it had an interesting menu, good reviews and was easy walking distance from the hotel. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. We travel a lot and are not unfamiliar with nice restaurants. In my opinion Bel Ami could hold it’s own in New York, Paris, London, Dallas, virtually anywhere. It has a very European feel. My wife had the Seafood Melange and I had the Bel Ami Trio. Both were outstanding. We had house wines and they were quite good. We booked earlier than we would have liked because they were full at our preferred time. So we took our time and never felt rushed. The service was excellent and the prices we thought were very reasonable. I would give it more than five stars if available. If we’re ever in Wichita we will absolutely return.

I don’t know why I waited so long to try this place out. The food was great and perfectly prepared. I had a blackened chicken sandwich and it was flavorful, juicy, and just the right size. The pasta salad was excellent and I appreciate the use of cavatappi pasta This place is beautiful inside as well and the service was top notch.

By far one of the best restaurants and most incredible hidden gems in Wichita. Lies in a very unassuming building downtown. A restaurant of incredible taste and amazing french cuisine. Has an upscale atmosphere and very personal wait staff. All the food we ate, from appetizer to dessert was some of the best I’ve had. It’s a little expensive but definitely the best place to go if you’ve got a special occasion. The wine list is expansive, ending up trying the house Pinot which was the best house wine I’ve probably ever had. Steak and lamb were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with their accompanied sauces. If you need a nice place for dinner this is it.
