  1. We absolutely love Gilbert Defense Arts, sensei Casey and the rest of the teachers! The experience, knowledge and skills that sensei Casey has are beyond impressive. My husband and father in law both trained with him and now my son does as well. What he learns about respect, listening, safety and defense are worth every penny. I highly recommend this studio and we’ve already referred other friends to join!

  2. My children have been attending classes for nearly 2 years now and it’s the greatest thing I could have done for them. Both of my sons know how to defend themselves in a way of integrity and dignity while maintaining self control. My oldest had to use this when he went to a new school recently and I couldn’t be more proud.

    The most impressive part is the amount of patience the instructors have when teaching children. It’s never truly about perfection, just progression and self confidence. My 2 younger will start classes as soon as they are old enough.

  3. My daughter absolutely loves GDA! We moved from out of state almost 2 years ago and GDA was recommended by the Sensei from CA. We checked it out at no cost for a couple of lessons, Sensei Casey, and all of the instructors, were very welcoming and made my daughter feel right at home. Everyone is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Watching my daughter grow her technique and sparring skills has been amazing! Highly recommend GDA!

  4. Gilbert Defense Arts is awesome and one of the last studios in AZ teaching Shaolin Kempo Karate. They’re program also includes Muay Thai Kickboxing, practical weapons defenses and tactical self-defense. After seeking out Master Paiz to continue my own Kempo training as a black belt myself, I decided to have my 9 year old son try the classes as well. He absolutely LOVES it! The instructors are knowledgeable, patient and friendly while at the same time encouraging their students to do and be their very best! As someone with over 20 years of experience in the martial arts, I can confidently say that Gilbert Defense Arts is one of the best!

    My daughter just started doing karate here and absolutely loves it! After the first day she asked to be signed up! It’s awesome they have a free first month to make sure the kiddos like before you commit. The teachers are great and really make sure all the kids are really learning the moves as well. Definitely a karate school to check out! Very clean facility as well. *** few months into the classes watch out they want money for EVERYTHING! I paid 900 bucks for 6 months thinking all was covered I was WRONG! Good teachers but just want money it seems like every other place.

    We have loved Sandoval karate! This is our second child enrolled now and our girls have both loved it! We love all of the teachers and how personable they each are. I love that they teach them manners and respect along with teaching them the proper way to protect yourself. They are serious and want you to learn but also include fun games within. There is great communication with Kaylie who is at the front desk , she is always there to help you. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

    Amazing karate school and classes! All the masters are amazing and very good with kids. My boy has started 6 months ago and he loves it very much. This is an amazing discipline for children and adults. We couldn’t be any happier with the choice we made for our 4 years old son. I definitely recoommand Sandoval Freestyle Karate.

    Our son has been here since July of 2022 and he loves it. Amazing instructors and the flexibility of scheduling makes it nice for parents. Gets a lot out of each class. Of course learning karate but they work in exercise, discipline and respect for others which helps in preparing for school.

    Sandoval Karate is an excellent place for kids and adults. We have had a nothing but great experiences. The staff is friendly and and knowledgeable. My son took classes when he was in the 4-6 y/o class and the lessons and handling of the kids was excellent and they made it fun. We are now back and I am taking the adults class with my son and we love it. Great workout and excellent teaching. Allen Sandoval and his team make sure everyone is learning the proper technique and skills. Definitely recommend.

    My husband I have been going to Faction for more than six months. We take the street defense/Krav classes. Steve and his instructors are top of the line. Great community, great classes!!! We learn a lot and the material rotations allow us a lot of practice to master content.

    Excellent, practical self-defense training. I strongly recommend this training to anyone who is interested self-defense or competition style fighting. The instructors will meet you where you’re at and build you up from there. I started with no training and after just a few months I feel a lot more confident and have a piece of mind as I’m out performing daily tasks with my family.

    I’ve been attending the jiu-jitsu class for almost two years and I can honestly say this has been an amazing experience for me. The coaches are very good (Brendan Richardson, Mike Lin, Steve Heilman- all black belts and Maiston Hattery- purple belt). Great facility and a good environment to train. Sharkside!

    By far the best investment in your life that you could make. This gym is everything you need; a place to workout with weights and equipment, a place to punch 5 different types of bags, mma, jiujitsu, Krav, and bunch of other classes- just depends which ones you want to try. Everyone is super welcoming and I don’t know that I’ve seen anyone here with an ego. The coaches are all amazing at their art and incredible teachers.
