What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. My family was dying of hunger when we stopped by. The place is decorated super beautifully, and the ambiance was relaxing and festive. The band was playing great music, the temperature was perfect with the fire next to us and the breeze coming from the water.

We each really enjoyed everything we ordered. Everything was delightful !! Our server was Mary and she provided excellent service and was super friendly!

Not pictured (appetizers: coconut shrimp and grouper bites)

  2. Excellent service. Good food and great atmosphere. Our waitress was all over it and the food came out very quickly. Decent portions. Haddock was excellent, coconut shrimp was phenomenal, and crabby patty sandwich was fair. We had the lobster bisque and clay chowder. Chowder was really good but bisque didn’t have any noticeable lobster chunks or flavor. If it weren’t for that, this would be a perfect 5 stars.

  3. Words can’t describe how great this food and scenery are the staff is incredible and the owners are so nice. We’ve never had a bad experience and Mary makes us feel right at home our other favorites are Cassandra, Shelby, and Tiffany. We go once a week and they always have a great diverse menu!! We just love it here!

  4. Ok. I’m going to start with the good. The view was amazing. Our server was awesome and very sweet. The food was good, but not great. The lady who seated us was super irritable. They kept delivering food we ordered to another table to the point we cancelled the second order of fries. Took forever to get our deserts to go. If I was a Karen this would have made me lose my mind. Everyone has an off day so I’d be willing to come back to try them again.

  5. Best lobster roll ever, so far. Nice view waterfront view. Good service. They did have a few gluten-free options. I would have rated it a five but the clam chowder had a lot of bacon in it. How about adding more clams. I feel like they do that to be cheap. If I order fish soup I do not expect pork. Again the service and lobster roll were delicious. It was worth the $35 as we split it due to size.

We were extremely hesitant on whether or not we wanted to try this place based on the reviews. But boy oh boy are we glad we did! We were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess and our name was put on the wait list. It was after church so we knew we were going to face having to wait…no biggie. 10 minutes went by and our name was called. Keep in mind this place was super busy. All of the servers were moving quickly and no one was just standing around doing nothing. We were seated with menus and within a few minutes our server was at our table taking our drink order. She came with a smile and a super great personality – Reese (I believe was her name). She came back with our drink order and we still needed a few minutes to decide so she left long enough for us to decide but not long enough to forget about us. They were out of the stuffed French toast – which totally bummed my Hubby out but she quickly recommended French toast with a personalized touch to his liking. The order came out perfect and everything was fresh and hot. The French toast was excellent. The burger that my son had was super tasty and super filling. I had the biscuits and gravy. I am SUPER picky when it comes to biscuits. But let me tell you people….this place hands down is one of my favorite places for biscuits. Fresh…hot…fluffy but not too fluffy and definitely not a rock hard dense hockey buck. Soooooo good! 👍 I am really glad we didn’t listen to the reviews because this place, as my husband says – “it’s my new favorite breakfast place”. And honestly as we could hear and watch other servers moving amongst the restaurant, they really all seemed to have upbeat personalities and was working hard. If you have to had a good experience, try it again. Everyone has bad days.

Kind of unremarkable. The Turkey Club was quite dry but the fries were ok. The pot roast melt was good. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We could stop back when nearby but may also try somewhere else.

We had been meaning to try out Sunshine Cafe since it switched from IHOP, and finally got the chance. It took about twenty minutes to be sat, but it was a Sunday morning after church. The servers were very prompt and friendly, and had no issue with customizing an order. The food was actually really good, way better than back when it was IHOP, despite the menus being pretty similar. But the kitchen seemed slow, not sure if it was because of the crowd or something else. Prices seemed fairly reasonable, portions were good, not huge but we still took home leftovers. All in all, we will definitely come back.

Great first time experience, the wait was about 15-20min, service was awesome, the food was great, portions good, variety good Mariah was the best server ever. It was refreshing to have a good breakfast experience at a restaurant since it seems lately every place and every one blames staffing for the bad service and bad food… I’ll be going back for sure.

The Yellow Dog never disappoints. The inside may look a little dated but the outside area is so pretty. We did have to walk down a flight of stairs to get there and I’m not sure if it’s accessible. The Lady Dog did not disappoint. It was incredible and just the right size. Homemade bun, fresh ingredients. The Raspberry Salad w Grilled Shrimp was yummy, perhaps a bit small for his appetite but that left him room for the most amazing warm bread pudding w cherries and chocolate served w a caramel whiskey sauce. I’m not a dessert eater but I tasted his and I have to say that it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. The view is great, the wait staff very professional, the kitchen doesn’t keep you waiting for your food.

I went to High Tea, which is hosted in 2-hour sessions every two weeks/every month. They had 5 courses; scones and tea/coffee, soup, salad, sandwiches, and desserts. Everything was beautiful and delicious with excellent attentive service, and a stunning river view. The restaurant continues below the parking area (which is entirely valet, so be prepared) and they have both stair access and motorized lift access to the lower level(s), so it is disabled-accessible. Both of our servers were friendly, quick to be responsive to our needs, and easy to talk to. The chef gave us a personal visit at the end of our meal, and we got to chat about what goes into the creative process and how proud he is of all his coworkers at the establishment. It was a wholesome and satisfying experience that I recommend to any parties looking to treat themselves to a calm and sumptuous meal in style.

I have always enjoyed eating at the Yellow Dog in the past, good food, good service. However, this time was not a good experience. Apparently there were 2 wedding parties planned for this Tuesday evening. Our party of 6 arrived early at 6 pm and were seated promptly. Our waitress took our drink orders, but we had to wait quite a while for all of the drinks. Everyone ordered, and we waited. The soups and salads came out a few here and there. The bread was very good! It took a long time to finally get our food delivered to our table. I had ordered scallops (pictured), all four of them were very good, and the sauce was very tasty. The 3 spears of asparagus were soft and mushy and appeared to be right out of a can! There was a fried cake of risotto (?) Which was the consistency of glue and had no flavor at all – completely inedible. Other members of our group had similar experiences with their food, overcooked, not tasting good, etc. We were there for 3 hours, much longer than we had planned for, and we’re very disappointed in the service and the quality of the food. I hope this is not what we can expect to have happen should I try again to enjoy a meal with friends at this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food and specialty drinks! Great atmosphere when you sit outside on the upper deck. The view of the water is beautiful and you can usually see dolphins swimming by. The waitstaff has always been excellent each time I’ve dined here. Definitely try something from the desert tray!

Beautiful view, attentive waitstaff, and amazing food. I had the special (lobster stuffed salmon) with the recommended chardonnay and a Caesar salad and crab bisque. Everything was wonderful, from the food to the open air deck which was perfect with the shelter of the building keeping it cool and shady. I would go back in a heartbeat.
