What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Very nice, fancy night out at mistral!
The service was amazing; our server was very polished and knew the menu & more like the back of his hand. The group tried all 3 flatbread pizzas & they were great! I had the halibut entree, I found it to be a little bland but I still ate it all and enjoyed it! The asparagus risotto underneath was yummy. Loved the dessert options & of course the espresso martini here too.

  2. Had the most wonderful and delicious time at Mistral. The food is to die for, the wine list is impressive, the cocktails are well crafted and the service is friendly and fun.

Another restaurant where they have WAY too many delicious things on the menu, I plan to come back here a lot.

  3. Remarkable food and service. I ordered the French onion soup, the half duck with a side of mashed potatoes, the three scoops of ice cream, and espresso. Complimentary bread and accompaniments were delivered to the table. A manager checked on me mid-dinner service to make sure I was happy. I’ve waited over 25 years to come here. Lovely menu. Formal atmosphere. The table next to me spent over $500 for a party of 3. Expect to spend over $100 per person, if getting appetizers, drinks, and desserts. Make sure to get a reservation.

  4. The food was great. But the service I received wasn’t match with the price. It was a place with great decorations and nice place for a night date. I was there for my birthday. And I reserved a table for 5:30pm. I was there to waiting for my party to come. I don’t want to seat in the table waiting, so they can use the table for other customers, I chose to wait on the front in the waiting area. However the front desk receptionist was so rude and unprofessional. She told me that my party is late, and told me once my party come I must leave by 7:30 pm. My party was finally came at 6:00pm. When I was seated, I was there worried about times, not passing 7:30pm. It gave and an unpleasant moment there to spent my birthday. Also, I was accidentally hit by one of the receptionist and she didn’t say anything to me. The food was great, and I spent approximately $280 dollars there. But this place gave me an uncomfortable feeling due to the customer service I received in the front desk. But my servers were good, and I told them it was my birthday, they prepared the birthday cake to me.

  5. Reserve a table! This restaurant has a nice, dim, and posh ambiance. The service was great and the staff very friendly. The food was also very delicious. Portions were just right. High-end but you definitely taste the quality. I recommend the truffle Mac and Cheese, light, pasta had great texture, very well balanced ingredients, not over the top cheesey.

I simply love dining at Ma Maison. The staff members are always warm, personable and truly professional at their craft. They are extremely knowledgeable about the menu and it wine pairings. The food is always delicious and well executed. Each time I visit the experience is always consistent in the service and food alike. Thanks Ma Maison for always making me feel like a VIP and not only serving delicious meals, but creating wonderful memories each time I visit! 😊 8.9.2022 Calvin C.

Overall this restaurant was disappointing. Every item needed more seasoning and tasted flat. For main courses we ordered. PEI steamed mussels, Cow Au Vin and Lamb Shank. Our meals were served within minutes of ordering. That tells me everything was already fully prepared. The mussels were mealy and broth was lacking flavor. Noodles had a nice bite to them but were bland. Lamb was tender but again tasteless. The bread served was absolutely delicious. Crusty on the outside and soft in the inside. Unfortunately that was the best bite. The appetizers were mixed. The onion soup was nice but the tartar had so much mustard in it that was all you could taste. Quaint restaurant with nice wine Selection but unless we hit them on an off night was not very good.

Location and ambiance are good. Of course you are not feeling like you are in France for sure, but at least it is not felt like a regular American restaurant. Service was great. When it comes to food, they claim they have the best Onion Soup in Boston. So, you are keeping your expectations high. I really liked the soup but it could have been a bit more garnished and with a little bit more consistency. As a main dish I had pan steered scallops garnished with garlic. Presentation was amazing. However, I could not taste the garlic and it was really unsalted, so could have been better. The most disappointing thing was the Almond Creme Brulee. I love this dessert so much, but they added too much almond extract. Only thing that I tasted was the bitter almond syrup so I could not finish it. Waitress asked me why I did not finish my dessert and I told them the reason. They did not charge for the dessert which showed their good attitude towards the customers. I don’t know whether I will go there again, but overall 7/10.

Easily my favorite upscale restaurant in Boston. Very cozy atmosphere. The dishes were absolutely amazing, from the taste to texture. I recommend ordering the scallops, duck and tuna, but you can’t go wrong with any dishes. The crepe dessert we had at the end was very bad though, so stay away from it.

The food was delicious. The duck was very good (the picture might not suggest that because I don’t like the meat raw), the fish was very buttery and soft. The napoleon desert was AMAZING. It was fresh and airy, melting in your mouth. Loved that it was not as sweet as many restaurants make it. I got the la vie en rose cocktail, very fresh and tasty, and the raspberry white chocolate martini was delicious. Tasted like white chocolate with a hint of alcohol. Recommend! The creme bruilé was very tasty as well. I have been to quite a few French places and this one became one of my favorites.

Excellent food and service. We had the oyster collection and the octopus to start and both were delicious. For our mains we had the finger filet and the bouillabaisse. The file was tender and cooked to perfection. The bouillabaisse was fantastic and substantial. To close, we had the Souffle and it was also amazing. We will be back again.

Fantastic restaurant with a really nice cozy ambience! Came here for a Sunday brunch and had a great meal here. Location of this place to begin with is right in the heart of the city in front of Boston commons (garage inside is a nice 🅿️ location). We tried the omelette which was truly French and well done all over, served with French fries, and the breakfast flat bread (dejeuners) which we did try was such a treat. Very good drinks menu ( tried the fall sangria and air France). One of the finest restaurants in Boston.

When your named Boston’s best bistro your asking for that statement to be challenged. It was a pleasure to get into this place to see for ourselves what this team was creating as an experience. The first floor is a small, almost pedestrian bar by boston Standards . We expect it flowers in the warm weather when they open the full length windows to flow onto a patio. That was purely a waiting area for us for what was to come. You walk upstairs or use an elevator to enter into an elegant dining room on the second floor overlooking the public Gardens. Having snow falling right outside the window we were seated at was an added bonus. A beet salad was a great peak into what this group would deliver. The Salmon and caviar special from a large fish , were both simply incredible. This bistro’s Bouillabaisse was the best and most seafood abundant we have enjoyed. I have a soft spot for excellent pasta dishes. Good chef friends shared some of the simplest best meals they have had . Pasta with truffles comes up frequently in these conversations. The midi team nailed this dish and this entire experience for us. We will be back , for certain.

Highly recommend. The menu has something for everyone. Everything we had was cooked to perfection. The duck breast was phenomenal. Try and get a table upstairs with a window view. You won’t regret it.
