What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. This is a cute place close to the riverfront with great service. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were delicious and I loved the dipping sauce.

Then I got the Boll Weevil salad and my partner got the jerk chicken sandwich. The sandwich was good and so was the pasta salad, but the boll weevil salad ingredients didn’t all mesh together. It tasted like the ingredients could have created two separate salads. The cornbread it came with was delicious though.

We did also get cake and pie to go which were absolutely amazing and I would definitely return for more desserts.

  2. 11 of us came here for lunch after a bike ride at the Greeneway. The cakes are the main attractions, but we were very happy with the meals & excellent friendly service. Good menu selections. Check out the photos. Sorry I didn’t capture the cakes from others. We were too busy eating them.😁

  3. Such a beautiful little spot in Augusta. A small place with a WHOLE LOT of flavor. This place has something special going on in that kitchen.
Never thought my favorite shrimp and grits would come from a restaurant in Augusta, but here we are. The shrimp and grits were superb in every way. It was flavorful and was not lacking in any way. I was unfortunately too full from the grits to get any cake but I’ve only heard the best about it. If I could give a place 6 stars I would give it here. The beer on draft was great as well. They had a wide selection to choose from. The servers were extremely helpful and knew what were the best things to order. Hunter was awesome and very helpful. He was a great server and checked in on me numerous times. This is definitely a go to place in Augusta.

  4. Cute place! I bet the desserts are to die for. But we came here to eat dinner. Nothing special really. To start, we ordered the fried green tomatoes. I liked it. Never had it before. For our dinner, I ordered the soup and salad combo. Chili and house salad. The Chili could’ve been warmer, but delicious. My husband ordered the jerk chicken plate. Way too seasoned…to the point your mouth twitches. I would definitely come to just get dessert.

  5. This place has been on my list to try, and I was excited to go! We went after church on Sunday and immediately got a table. That made me nervous, since most places have a wait on Sunday afternoons, but the weather was bad so I figured people had stayed home.

The service was friendly and speedy! I started with a mimosa flight. I would order a full-sized Orange Lavender mimosa again.

The reason for the 3 star review is the food. It was all very disappointing. There was an overall lack of flavor. It was all very bland, which is hard to do with southern cookin’.

We tried friend green tomatoes, 2 different soups, a salad, 2 different sandwiches, a brunch item, and the pasta salad. We wouldn’t order any of it again. I was so bummed!

They’re known for dessert. GO FOR THAT! And that only. We did a dessert flight, only offered on Sunday. We took them home and I put them on plates for us to share. All the desserts were very good! Full of flavor and perfect textures!

The wait service and the atmosphere as always, were perfect. The chocolate mousse was perfect. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. However, I’m not sure if they had an off day in the kitchen or what – the food service was terrible. My husband’s Eggs Benedict was first served with soft boiled eggs instead of poached. The kitchen did correct the eggs, but by the time they brought new eggs, they were still not truly poached and were more of an over medium poach. He also realized that the English muffins were not toasted at all and that there was not enough hollandaise to fix his Benedict with the new eggs, but didn’t want to complain a second time. My shrimp and grits were less than their usual phenomenal standard – but I was hungry so I ate them anyways (that and our friend had broken a mimosa flute on accident, so we weren’t trying to cause more of a fuss). My shrimp were pale and flavorless. Last time we came, the shrimp were flavorful and well seasoned. These literally looked like they were quickly boiled and tossed on top of the grits with some parsley. The grits were perfect, as were the drinks. We did also try the frog legs, which were an experience/impulse order. Not sure we’d get them again simply from a personal standpoint. In the images, you can see his English muffin is dry/uncooked and my shrimp are pale. While we had a decent experience, it was due to our company with our friends, and not the food. The service and atmosphere made up slightly for the lack of a good meal experience.

10/10 for the food, service, ambience and overall experience! Ate there during lunch time (their brunch time ends at 11am on Saturday). Everything was delicious but their creme brulee won the day! Will definitely come back to try out their brunch menu.

Kind of upset I didn’t know about this cozy little spot! They had a great wine list and the food was even better. The fries to start with were piping hot, and the red pepper aioli really added to the flavor. The steak for 2 came out on a giant cutting board and was cooked perfectly. The sides with it were more than enough for two people. Can’t wait to try more on the menu!

Wait staff was super friendly and willing to help with any suggestions. We would highly recommend ANY of the salads but thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the grilled salmon salad and Goat Cheese and Beet Salad (add the chicken). Any of the cakes are excellent choices as well, but if you can, go for the strawberry cake. You won’t regret a trip here.

Desserts were great. Strawberry cake with icing was my favorite. Lamb rack was undercooked when ordered medium rare. Reservation was made through Resy. I was seated right away.

This is a cozy German restaurant with authentic cuisine and great atmosphere. Well worth the drive from Bamberg. We had the German salad with pickled beets, pickled green beans and cucumber salad. So refreshing! 2 kinds of schnitzel and German potato salad. Everything was just as I remembered from living in Germany. Really enjoyed it!!!

Dined in on a Friday night. Arrived about 5:30 pm and seated immediately. Debbie was our waitress and she was excellent. Fresh bread and butter were complimentary. Ordered the pretzels, pretty good. Enjoyed the schintzel, weinerschintzel and combo plate. The German potato salad and the home fries were good. I didn’t care for the German salad(beets, cucumbers and green beans) but my husband loved it. Locally owned, nice beer and wine selection. Would eat here again

I enjoyed dinner with my family on a Thursday night. Hardly a soul in the place so no wait to be seated. Friendly, prompt service. Food was delicious. I ordered the French onion soup, also the beef rouladen and I added red cabbage. My entree came with a choice of soup or salad and bread. I ordered a mixed salad, it was fresh and sufficient. My beef rouladen was soooo good! It comes w spaetzle. My SO had the cordon bleu which he said was good as well. Idk who the bartender is here but my hats off to you! They make a longgggg Long Island 😄

We enjoyed date night at Villa Europa. We live close by, but it had been years since our last visit. We started with escargot and French onion soup, it was really good. I followed with the stuffed trout and my wife had the jagerschnitzel. We both had the German salad. All wonderful! The building is getting old, not necessarily in a good European way, needs some freshening. I understand the decor, and the pictures and colours worked, but not the ceiling tiles. Our server, Lee, was amazing. He is obviously very experienced and made great recommendations and gave exactly the right amount of attention. I would definitely recommend asking to be sat in his section. Overall it was a good experience, we’ll be back, but I may ask to sit in a different area of the restaurant, hopefully with no ceiling tiles!

Feels like stepping back in time. I don’t think anything has changed here since it opened. All the food was good and made to order. Nice wine and beer selection also.
