  1. We have been here for six months now. As usual there is adjust relative to the decision to come at this time in our lives as well as actually adapting to a new home. The absolute best thing outside of an amazing environment is the family community here at Cascades. They welcome you with open arms and make you feel most welcome from day one. Immediately they oriented us to daily life and activities.

    Due to the decline in our health and having local friends played a major role in choosing Cascades. We found the wellness program excellent, especially the water aerobics program and the staff’s concern for our wellbeing. In addition the many activities gave us a variety to meet our individual interest. We impressed with the dining experience and the quality of the selections and preparation.

    After being here for this short period of time we are amazed at the programs and activities offered by Ed Smith and Alexandra Makuch. Cory Hoots,the Executive Director is very involved and approachable on a daily basis. The dining staff, maintenance team, and housekeepers do an outstanding job of caring.

    We look ahead for many days with a new family of friends in a great environment.

  2. I have lived at the Cascades for almost two years now—-and it is a wonderful place to live!! I visited many retirement communities in several states before deciding to move here. The Cascades fit my needs more than any other!! (And, one of the most wonderful things that has happened to me here is that I met a most wonderful gentleman and we were married in July!!!!!)
    The members are all unique in their backgrounds and accomplishments which tends to lend itself to the atmosphere for which I was looking!! The staff is great-especially Jenny Joyce!! She is definitely one of the most competent, caring individuals that I have ever known and the Cascades management and residents are blessed to have her!!
    Cascades is truly lovely!! The grounds are impeccably kept, the villas are spacious and the cottages are large and beautiful. However, after 10 plus years, the carpet in all the villa public areas are in need of replacement—which I’m sure will be happening very soon since this is a premier community and I’m sure corporate would not want to lose that status!!

After moving from my large family home to living in a condo for many years, I realized that I now needed a home that could give me assistance when needed, security and remove concern about their mother from my family. I wanted to live as independently as feasible in a comfortable, friendly environment with a variety of activities for entertainment and self-improvement.
    After a few visits to Cascades-Verdae Greenville, SC, I knew there was such a place. My lovely apartment immediately felt like home, especially with my own furnishings. From my windows, I look out on a park-like setting with big trees, flowers, shrubs, fountains, walking path and benches for resting and visiting.
    Residents quickly became my friends and shared seats at the table for delicious meals, movies, programs, excursions, wellness activities, special events celebrations, clubs of interest and much more. Believe me, it is all there for you to enjoy, ask for assistance and feel a sense of family. Staff members are caring, fulfill your needs, enjoy their profession and most of all, want residents to be well and happy.
    I became a resident of Cascades-Verdae in March 2022. My days have been filled with fun activities, warm companionship, comfort, security and my family is at liberty to take a vacation.

  4. My parents moved into Linville Courts in September. We have been very pleased so far. Michelle, Amy and Libby have gone above and beyond to help us get them settled in. My parents have enjoyed the activities very much. It has also given me peace of mind to know they are well taken care of and are happy.

  5. DON’T PURSE EMPLOYMENT HERE!!!
    HR – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR- DINING MANAGEMENT
    TREAT STAFF ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! MOST DEFINITELY NOT A FAMILY ORIENTED BUSINESS The management and HR play favorites and treat others horribly. They let some people take extended time off have holidays off, call out when their children are sick, take time off to go to school events, sporting events, vacations, while making others work consecutively for days straight with no time off. Making certain employees work all holidays while giving others all holidays off. The favoritism is very noticeable and unfair. I barely make 450 a week I work till 9 o’clock every night and dinning. 2 to 3 times a week I work doubles meaning 9am /9pm ! I’ve been begging for first shift for months now I’ve been told once they hire new people I will be put on first shift. Then they hire new people in the kitchen manager put a new hire on 1st just to please her and make sure she will stay because we need STAFF SO BADLY, they CANT KEEP ANYONE BECAUSE THEY TRWAT US LIKE SLAVE DRIVERS AND THEN TREAT SOME LIKE A PRINCESS. THEY WILL NEVER KEEP STAFF FOR THERE GUEST AS LONG AS THEY KEEP TREATING THERE EMPLOYEES SO RUDELY AND UNPROFESSIONAL !!! Not to mention how badly they talk about the members
    They don’t care about them. They just want their paycheck !! There is only a certain few that actually care about the guest and really have their best interest at heart !!!
    ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PLACE TO WORK FOR.
    THEY LOOSE PEOPLE DAILY AND WONDER WHY!!!
    This place is a sh— show. They just can’t get it together. It’s a joke. Definitely no ⭐️’s for them.

    The room cleaners don’t come around often to my room and the food has dropped off a whole lot.The manager (Kayla) here has a very bad attitude.I asked my caregiver that comes in to see about me to stop by the office and let her know that i needed someone to clean my room because no one cleaned it last week and she told my caregiver that I didn’t tell her about it but i mentioned it to some of the workers 3 times last week and also it’s in my contract that my room is supposed to be cleaned every week so I should not have to remind her anyhow.I don’t have to be reminded to pay my rent every month.Please handle this situation for me.i had a stroke last year and i don’t need to be upset and have another stroke.Thank you.

    I have friends who live at Haywood Estates, and every time I visit, we have a great time. They will often invite me to lunch, and the food is outstanding. My friend’s apartments are much larger and nicer than my other friend’s apartments who lives at Westminster. Also, the overall look of the place is prettier, and I find the residents are so much more friendly. Besides the incredible food, my other favorite part about Haywood is the excellent well-lit walking trail that meanders through the most beautifully landscaped grounds, especially in the spring when everything is in bloom. I have toured most of the Greenville retirement communities with Senior Action, and Haywood Estates is by far my favorite.

    My aunt with memory issues has been a resident for 5 months. She can be difficult at times, but the staff, especially Ally and Louise, have always been patient and kind with her. The facility is a little dated, but it is well kept and clean and the rooms are spacious. The food is good with several choices for picky people like my aunt. It’s not a medical facility, but medical help is available on site and is great, especially the PT and OT ladies.

    We have been at Maple Brook Terrace for 1 year. We made a wise choice. The staff is wonderful, there are many activities available, and the physical setting is just lovely. There seems to be a “happy vibration” prevalent among all the residents. We love our new home and all it offers for peace of mind and comfort. Call Pam for a tour, she can answer all your questions……you can then feel the magic of Maple Brook.

    After visiting this community I was totally impressed! I met the director as well as the events coordinator and the Chef. The facility was bright, clean and full of amenities! After speaking with the chef I found out that over 93% of the food is fresh and made from scratch in-house, and he’s striving to reach 96% this year! What else I loved about this community is that everything is inclusive and they have a full kitchen in every apartment! I recommend anyone looking for a retirement community to definitely consider Maple Brook Terrace!

    I work at Maple Brook Terrace. What I personally love about our community is the residents. They are warm and welcoming to new neighbors and are very active and fun. Our culinary program is AMAZING and the residents love the fun our team has around food. I’ve worked for the company for over 10 years and wouldn’t have if it were not a great community.

    As a current employee of Maple Brook Terrace, I have to say my favorite part is the atmosphere we’ve created. The residents and staff have so much fun together, whether it’s at Happy Hour, a special themed dinner or just chatting in the hallway. It truly feels like a family and it’s a pleasure to go to work every day!

    I am an employee of Maple Brook Terrace since June 2022. The building is beautiful, the food is delicious, the residents are happy and welcoming, and overall I am happy to work here. I have been in this industry for three years, and this location is the best location I have seen. Highly recommended!
