What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. The care has always been incredible. Food is better than you might expect for a retirement home – though sometimes service is a tad slow. The breakfast and brunch is actually pretty good and the cooks are super nice! The neighborhood is nice, there are ample activities on-site, and a great community. Transitioning to different levels of care has also made my grandparents stay here much more improved.

  2. My father was a resident of Croasdaile Village’s independent living facility for ten years, and of its skilled nursing facility (Pavilion) for two and a half years. He and our family were very pleased with the care and services provided at both facilities. The staff (medical, food services, physical therapy, social work, activities, administration, housekeeping, security, maintenance, etc.) were always responsive, professional, and courteous. He never experienced any abuse or loss due to theft or neglect, nor was he aware of any such incidents involving other residents.

We spent time with him almost every day during his Pavilion residence. The nurses and nursing aides were, without exception, always kind, attentive and compassionate.

I’ve read many reviews of many facilities. The Pavilion is consistently ranked among the very best nursing facilities by federal and state reviewers. I’ve also visited family at other facilities, and I believe the Pavilion was the best choice for my father.

  3. Croasdaile Village is one of the most inviting, comfortable, friendly, and hospitable places we have visited – and we visited over 20 CCRC’s in the last five years! Everyone is always smiling! I have personally witnessed housekeeping, security, and office personnel looking out for residents and offering assistance to those who looked like they might have been in need. My husband and I have made lifetime friendships at CV – joining them in their beautiful dining room as well as sharing club time with Laurie (the Chaplain) and other residents. Residents were so proud of their comfortable apartments or cottages and welcomed us into their most comfortable homes. We look forward to the time when our apartment will be right there and we can say goodbye to our long drive home. I almost forgot to mention the most beautiful renovation and additions! The facilities are fabulous, both inside and outdoors, and will offer us opportunities we could never believe possible! This next chapter of our lives will be fulfilling and rewarding and we look forward to living at Croasdaile Village with joy in our hearts!

  4. Can’t believe how the rehab center has been treating my grandfather they have left him with a gash on his arm that was so bad the dressing had to be changed three times in a row, they left him in a wheelchair for four hours straight knowing he has sciatica and his legs and feet went numb he was in so much pain he was crying for help and nurses and aids just walked right past him!!!!!!! Don’t let your parents or grandparents come here they make it seem nice but the people are terrible!

  5. My Dad stayed at the Croasdaile Healthcare Center to rehab after his knee replacement surgery in January. Everyone there was professional, friendly and the lady in the admitting office that helped organize him being transferred there from Duke went above and beyond helping us navigate all the paperwork. He received excellent care, the food was good and his rehab people were so nice to work with. The facility was clean and updated. Our family highly recommends Croasdaile Village!

We are staying in Durham temporarily while I’m waiting for a double lung transplant. We chose the Flats because of the close proximity to Duke and the convenience of shopping and food choices nearby. The apartment is a good size, very clean and comfortable. We had a few very minor maintenance issues that were addressed immediately. The staff have all been very friendly and professional.

Do not lease here! I tried to figure out the pricing and availability by speaking with someone on the phone, then completing the application fee. About 30 minutes later I was told my application did not meet their guidelines, as I had recently quit my job to attend grad school in January. Despite a very high credit score of 800 and savings, another property was able to work with me. I signed a lease at that property, but then notified the Flats. They only offered to return the $150 not the full $215 paid for the application fee, due to “pulling out of the unit I chose”. That’s the point of an application— you are seeing if you can live there. If it works for them and you. As I had not signed a lease yet I expected a full refund— which I did not receive. Do not live here! They are very rude and unwilling to work with students.

Generally speaking, it is nice to live here. The staffs are friendly and responsive, while the place is well-maintained. There are some minor issues like bugs (some in the summer, but not a lot), but it is kinda normal in most communities. I really enjoy living here and will recommend my friends. (also, it looks like most of the negative reviews there are about the application process or rent, not about the living experience itself)

Lived here for 5 years and the last two years were not great. Look, when you change management there’s going to be some hiccups. But two years is enough time to sort them out and when you let go all of the team that was in place and running things perfectly then you’re setting yourself up for failure. Overall our experience was fine. Its an apartment complex and you can’t expect too much. But you should be able to expect a Safe and Secure complex and a Management team that cares. Sadly, I can’t say that The Flats Management team in place now cares about provide any of those things.

The property and individual units and commons are very well maintained. Office and maintenance staff are friendly, polite and courteous. They are efficient and always make residents their highest priority. – From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

Moved my parents 2021 from their home and it’s been a wonderful transition—their apartment and grounds are welcoming, and a beautiful garden that our pups can visit and enjoy. Meals open 7-7 so not restrictive, supportive staff and so much available. Best decision I’ve made…

Bartlett Reserve is a clean facility with courteous and caring staff. Apartments are updated and there is a large multipurpose room with plenty of daily activities for residents. There is also a well equipped gym and beautiful dining area.

My 88 year old mom has lived at Barlett Reserve for the past 10 months and has really enjoyed it! We can’t say enough about the caring staff, the residents, the activity, and the folks at Legacy who have made her stronger than when she went in there! Shae Medical for caring for her medical needs (she has portable Oxygen)have been very responsive when she has had needed them. Sean and Steve for looking after her administratively. We would love to stay, but she must move w me to a new state due to a new job. If you are looking for a caring, comfortable place for your parent you should check out Bartlett Reserve.

This has been a great, affordable, independent living community for my mother. I love that it is not too large and how those that work there embrace the residents. We have definitely been pleased
