What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. If you have fish you need to go. This store is huge and curated amazingly. It is so detailed w species I only thought I could buy online. It’s Inspiring and the MTS will be greatly aggravated so beware. The employees are a lot of young people like me who are passionate about fish and plants. Here’s some pics for reference.

  2. Excellent pet store with extremely extensive selection of a variety of animals. I was very impressed upon visiting by the bettas being kept in tanks rather than tiny cups, a definite sign that this store cares about their animals. Excellent selection of tarantulas, kept in extremely good enclosures for a pet store. I bought my first tarantula there at a very good price, and the staff were very helpful with selecting the right one. They are my go-to pet store in the area.

  3. You can tell that the staff are genuinely passionate about what they do, and the animals thrive as a result. Nothing but positive experiences here! Sometimes, I come here to look at frogs.

  4. The best pet store in Thurston county. It is worth a visit just to see the great aquarium ecosystems. Their staff is also very knowledgeable and willing to help.

  5. Favorite local spot for the dog members of our family. Our Newfoundland needed special puppy food and we found it here, the loyalty program and free samples we get make it more affordable and the staff is always warm and welcoming. My son loves the aquarium section, he treats it like a trip to the zoo when we visit. I keep shrimp and they have everything I need at all times.
I want my dog to learn to use their grooming station, it looks super convenient but he’s a bit of an unruly puppy right now. They have different shampoos and tools for grooming as well as drying your pups. Need to train mine to use it. Soon!

Even though this is part of a big box Enterprise The grooming salon always seems personal and they remember my dog and remember how to groom her. They usually do something special like a ribbon or a bow. They accommodate leaving her doggie gear there while they are grooming instead of making me take it with me. Definitely would recommend Matthew.

Good afternoon Petco Corporate, and thank you for the opportunity to give Kudos to Sa at your 1530 Black Lake Blvd. Ste D Olympia, WA 98502 store. Sa, in you Fish department Olympia Washington is a dream. He is professional, kind, compassionate, and clearly educated on a multitude of pets, and animals but his knowledge of proper care of our beloved pet fish is beyond what I could have dreamed from Petco. Sa has helped me nurse two sick fish which inevitably passed, and with such compassion for my pain of losing them. Sa allowed me to break down crying in the store as I told him that Madison had passed, and then he helped me name my new Fancy goldfish “Buffy”. Brooklyn recently became sick with a fungus, and after 4 days in a hospital tank passed two days ago. Yesterday, it was Sa who again comforted me, and gave me wonderful advice of how to care for Buffy now that she is alone. Sa has sold me the medications needed for my hospital tank, he has sold me proper fish food for proper fish health. He has sold me a new tank with the proper supplies, and yesterday we picked out a new aquarium toy cave for Buffy to hopefully keep her happy now that she is alone, and may stay that way! Each time I am blessed, and Sa is working when I visit my local Petco, I do tend to give an associate compliment of Sa when I am at the checkout counter, and each time, without failure, your associates always agrees and then mentions with a loving smile, “Oh yeah! Everyone Loves Sa! And he really knows his stuff!”. And ya know what…. It’s true : ‘) Thank you, Petco. As you know, a customer will drive a long distance to visit a chain store with an associate that customer adores, even when they have a franchise within a few miles of our own homes. Well, Sa would be that associate at Petco who is currently within a few miles of my home, but if I were to move away from West Olympia, I would happily make the drive back to your 1530 Black Lake Blvd. Ste D Olympia, WA 98502 store for Sa. With my deepest appreciation, and with a smile, Miss Kennedy & Buffy.

Leann has been an incredible person to trust with our dog’s grooming needs. She is gentle and communicative. I know our dogs are in good hands when they are with her!

Super friendly staff, very accommodating. Somewhat crowded store but really pleasant experience. Will be using their services.

Staff were as helpful as they could be but what’s the point of having cats up for adoption if they can’t be adopted out? Apparently, only shelter staff can adopt them out and they are only there for a short period once a week. It seems they really don’t want the cats to go to new homes if this is how they operate.

It’s sad that there’s other reviews at the woman at the front desk.. I called trying to get information about some of the dogs and also try to explain the importance of why I was looking for a certain dog (the story isn’t pretty and almost always makes my start sobbing) She was cold, rude, didn’t have really any extra knowledge about the dogs personalities or energy levels, and this is just an overall for the shelter.. why don’t you guys cat test?! I’m sorry but her telling me you don’t and I just have to “slow introduce” was a deal breaker once included with how she presented herself and the shelter.. pretty sure indeed works for hiring replacement people and there’s other jobs in the shelter she could do not interacting with hopeful adopters.. smh

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve worked in the vet field for years and have never talked to anyone with a shi**ier attitude than the lady who answers the phone here. I asked a simple couple questions and her attitude was off the charts. She seems to be annoyed she has To do the literal job she was hired for. If I got this many complaints when I worked in animal services I would have been fired in an instant. Get new reception staff good lord.

A very sweet pregnant cat came to me to ask for help. Animal Services had space for her. She’ll get to have her kittens and then hopefully everybody will find loving homes. The staff was great. I think Mama cat will be ok.

I have adopted several Pets from here over the last 11 years. Two WONDERFUL Family Dog’s and two very adorable Guinea Pigs. The staff there has always treated my Family and I with care and compassion. They truly care about both the people and animals.
