What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. It didn’t seem that they took care of their fish and when I showed concern to the staff member in the fish department who was chatting to a friend who didn’t work their, she said it was supposed to be like that. It was a piece of plastic seaweed floating around and kept on hitting the fish and the fish was frantically trying to swim away from it. However they did have beef cheek for my dogs so hence two stars

  2. Our doggy became so stressed out that we were called to pick her up. They were so nice and patient trying to calm her down. They did manage to make her beautiful.

  3. The store was awesome. There was a good amount of people at the time I went the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the customers were friendly also. It is a good place to find cat and dog treats, food, and toys and the prices were excellent.

  4. So tired everytime I get a fish from any petsmart they always have Ick and end up having to do ick treatment and water changes. I’m done with petsmart and their fish ya too much work for one damn fish. Ones my tank before putting 3 petsmart fish in there and the blue tank is ick tank with medication. Now begins the water changes and treatment and loss of fish. Very upset.

  5. I’m always here. I spend way too much money here. Why are there always problems and long wait lines though? And where did the WHOLE aisle of dog clothes go???

My cat tent had a rip in it already just purchased by the way . Which sucked! The cashier was super rude and was nice to the lady in front of us and behind us but not us. The groomers and grooming staff were super helpful and nice. Otherwise the experience wasn’t pleasant

We made an appointment online to have our large dog groomed. It was an easy process. We arrived a little early, and they took us right in. He is an older dog, so it took a while. They gave him plenty of rest breaks and cared for his safety. We were early to pick him up, so we were able to witness some of the grooming and care he received. He couldn’t’ve been in better care. We purchased add-ons for skin and hair conditioning, nails, and teeth. We’ll be back. We’ve been back, several times. Service and Care of our fur baby is always excellent. ❤️

Took my cat to be groomed and they only did half of her because “that’s all the cat would allow” that’s fine if that’s how she was but they sure charged the FULL amount for a half done job that didn’t even include her getting a bath and “pampered”. Definitely would not take any pet back here to Katie. Not only that the email said it would be 2-3 hours for the appointment so we based our schedule off of that and when they were done within the hour they were upset that we left the her and didn’t come back straight away. Not worth the money at all.

Took my baby to get his haircut for easter & THE WORST GROOMER ive yet to experience. Went in for puppy bath and full haircut because hes a maltpoo & iwanted him to be circled but she literally cut NOTHING off . Both sides of his face and head were uneven as well as his feet not even being cleaned up . Tried both petsmart and there bad . My Groomer was Dakota at this location .

Recently went in looking for our lost puppy and walked out as foster to adopt. Now we have a beautiful boy who is the sweetest and most loving soul. He is adjusting well to his new home. We couldn’t bare sending him back. So grateful for the knowledgeable staff who gave us advice to foster first. Also was able to get anything will would need for him. Will continue to foster as needed to help with any animals as possible. Thank you for all you do!

We had a good experience when we visited twice..so many puppies and so many dogs and cats needing homes. Wish I could take them all. 💔 adoption fee was waved for month of October only if the animal has black markings. We are on day 1 and he has been a champ potty training and exploring the house and his crate when he naps. Hopefully all of them find amazing homes too.

This shelter (city pound) has never been helpful to me in the slightest. My two most recent experiences were handled by the not-so-nice girl who always answers the phone at the front desk and answers their emails (I wish I knew her name so I could give her the full credit for making me despise this place). My first experience I found a dog roaming loose on the Marsha Sharp Freeway and Universitery Avenue. I stopped and picked the dog up and drove her directly to the Lubbock pound to check if she had a microchip. She did and I was told it was one of theirs. They gave me the address where the owner supposedly lived and suggested I take her and “just put her in their back yard”. Before I leave I fill out a “found card” as well. So we leave and go to the address we were given and it’s an apt complex, with no backyards. We go back to the pound where I relay all this to the unhelpful girl, and she asks if I can foster her until the owner is located. I said I would but only for a short period of time as my dog isn’t friendly with other animals. After two weeks and endless attempts at trying to find the dog’s owner, I had to take her back to the pound as my dog was attacking her quite often. When I arrived I’m informed that she’s now my dog because I took on responsibility for her. Really? I was forced to do an owner surrender on her. More recently, my aunt died leaving behind her 2 German Shepards. I called and was told again by the same unhelpful girl that these were now my dogs and Id need to do an owner surrender, but they couldn’t get to picking them up until May…this was in March. So I say okay, whatever, because I cannot keep them, and she kept emailing me back fishing for information about the dogs so that she could ultimately deny their services to me all because one of her dogs isn’t very fond of men, even though I emphasized that he has NEVER bitten anyone. I’m pretty sure our taxes pay for this so called “service” and yet for some reason they can deny their services to people over and over again. This girl working here is probably 1/2 the reason people end up letting their dogs loose to fend for themselves or they just tie them up in front of the pound over night, because she just sits up there telling everyone they cannot surrender an animal to their shelter even when it’s NOT THEIR DOG! I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to this shelter until the girl at the front desk is no longer employed there. She is more of a problem for this community than she is anything else.

They have done an excellent job helping me foster a momma and her 7 puppies. Making sure they are getting microchips and their first shots and when the time came to spay and neuter them, they were on it. I still have a good relationship with the Lubbock Animal Shelter. Thanks.
