What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I was visiting in Birmingham for the weekend and a friend highly suggested this as it’s one of his favorite restaurants in the city. The restaurant has an authentic French bistro feel and a nice vibe. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. It’s a fine dining experience. I had the Bibb salad, chicken liver mousse to start and for the main the steak and frites. Do not miss out on the coconut pecan cake and lemon meringue! The dessert was the cherry on top.

  2. Our server was amazing. The food was great! I wish I had time to savor it before it got cold, but I can’t argue with thermodynamics…

Also, the outdoor patio was GORGEOUS.

  3. 10/10 recommend this gem of a restaurant. The ambiance is low lit and romantic, however a little loud since it’s smaller and packed, but no complaints here. Our waiter was top notch. Cordial, explained the menu well, never let our drinks drop an inch, and very attentive. The salad appetizer was delicious. Plenty for two to share. Husband had the special fish of the night (forgot the name) over zucchini/squash/some sauce which was cooked to perfection. My steak with fries/salad was indescribably good. I’ve honestly never had better french fries in my life. We also tried three non-alcoholic drinks. The lime/ginger mint, the grapefruit/orange/lime, and the watermelon one. All delicious!!! Oh and get their espresso shot. My Brazilian husband approved! The prices were really not bad compared to other places we’ve been. Totally worth it!

  4. This place was amazing. I was in Birmingham for a work trip, and I liked the restaurant so much I went twice. I sat at the bar both times solo without a reservation, but it did get pretty busy so try and get a reservation if you can!

The Trout is amazing (my favorite). The burger is amazing. Also the Coconut pecan cake is a must. There were other appetizers that people next to me ordered, and they all looked great.

The bartenders were very knowledgable and made me drinks that weren’t on the menu. Well crafted.

    Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

  5. My wife has eaten here for lunch and dinner several time but this was my first time and it did not disappoint. We ate here to celebrate a birthday and the food was amazing. Our server was very nice and did an excellent job.

Very clean and welcoming employees waved at me at the door. Super comfortable atmosphere with sweets, breads, cheeses and sandwiches as far as I can see. Everything looked fresh even though I came in the afternoon. Very nice bakery perfect for the scenery here at Mountain Brook. It was like a bakery shop in Europe. Definitely brought back some memories well done. Shortbread Cookies tasted good.

I was like a kid in a candy store here! I’ve never seen a bakery quite like this one. From the decor to the food, everything was unique. I highly recommend the old fashioned cinnamon roll. However, I would pass on the ham and cheese croissant. There’s only a small slice of ham in a big ole croissant. But still a wonderful experience!

Continental Bakery has made the bread for the mini date nut cream cheese sandwiches served with the fruit and deli salad plate where I work. That alone made me want to visit and try a few items. Cute little place with an entrance not too different from something out of Middle Earth with vines kept at bay just enough. Once inside, I started looking at all the delicious looking treats in several cases and was quickly greeted by a young lady standing behind them. She told me the croissants were some of her favorites when I asked, then she pointed out the peach/blueberry muffins. The French Love Cookie caught my attention from its name and once she described it as like a wedding cookie, I definitely had to try one. So, with muffin, croissant and love cookie in a brown paper bag, I returned to work where I polished off all three with a cup of coffee. Everything was tasty, I liked the inside of the croissant more than the outside, which was just a bit dry. The French Love Cookie is much like a Mexican Wedding cookie, with less powdered sugar. This would be a good choice for someone that likes not so sweet desserts. My favorite was the peach/blueberry muffin hands down! It had blueberries all through and thin slices of peach all around. Next time maybe biscotti and some macarons along with a cup of tea.

On a recent trip to Birmingham I stopped here and became a fan at first bite! 😆 I first noticed the cute look of the bakery and appreciated the friendly staff inside. There were so many delicious looking treats to select from that I was indecisive. I ended up picking several treats including a mini carrot cake as well as a latte. I definitely will be making another visit when I return to Birmingham.

Very cute little spot! I stopped by on my visit to Birmingham and it reminded me of stepping into a bakery in Europe. The pastries are delicious and the bakery staff were friendly

I was in town for my birthday and decided to have my birthday dinner here. Elizabeth was excellent and provided amazing and attentive service. She was knowledgeable and very helpful. Each of us, in my party of 3 had different entrees and all 3 were delicious. The rabbit, pork, and ribeye entrees were seasoned perfectly and everyone was more than satisfied with their selections. Overall, it was a joyous experience.

I’ve experienced many restaurants; however, Cafe Dupont tops them all. We had a party of 8 for a birthday celebration. Every individual was amazed at the customer service. The food, oh my!! The food was flavored to perfection. We had several appetizers, which were so good. It had us anticipating how good our food was going to taste. Which Cafe Dupont executed on every level. Thank you for this pleasant experience.

From the amuse-bouche and champagne to start the meal to the chocolates at the end, everything was perfect. The waitstaff were all lovely and very accommodating. We especially enjoyed the charcuterie with pâté, terrine and hard boiled deep fried egg . I had the vegetable plate for my entrée and the portion was generous and the vegetables were seasonal. We finished out the meal with a fall favorite apple dessert. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend.

Absolutely incredible! Wait staff was attentive, but not pushy. Bartender was courteous and extremely helpful. Special shout-out to Bishop for snapping a photo for us! The food was AMAZING. My wife and I had a 7:15 dinner reservation and we’ve been excited to dine here for two weeks. She had been a few times, but this was my first! My wife had the fried oysters and fried okra as an appetizer, and quail as an entree. I had the butter crunch salad as an appetizer and the buttermilk fried chicken with truffled mashed potatoes. Both of us had a glass of wine- her a very classy Bordeaux, and I had their exquisite Côtes du Rhône. Everything was impeccable. Flawless. Creative. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant as soon as you get a chance. To finish the evening we enjoyed a glass each of lemoncello, served in two beautiful glasses affectionately known as their ‘Nick and Norah’. It was the very best I’ve ever had, even better than what I’ve gotten straight from Rome. This establishment exceeded all my expectations and I can’t wait to go back!

Had an amazing dinner here with a friend. Our server was so kind and so funny, and the food was delicious. The fried chicken is to-die for, but we enjoyed everything we ordered from the cheese plate to start to crème brûlée for dessert. We also enjoyed a couple of tasty French 75s and the best espresso martinis either of us had ever had. Including pictures of our starter and dessert, but I didn’t even snap one of my entree because I was so excited to dig in and enjoy. What a special place!
