I had the pleasure of speaking with Stephanie and she helped a great deal with scheduling. Upon arriving for the first time, Maddie (Maddy?) was behind the counter and was extremely personable and helpful as well. The cage was already set up, but the softball machine had to keep being adjusted, luckily my daughter knew how to work it. Once you walk into the cage area it is tight, so not much room to watch your kids if all cages are occupied, but there is a small lounge area to hang out in. Don’t feel like hearing the numerous missed balls, or the balls getting hit … there are plenty of places to go in the strip mall. They sell water ($1) and Gatorade at the counter and have a drink machine in the back as well as have rest rooms. I did browse the shop they have and found the prices to be a bit on the high end.By Margo M (4 years ago)My family decided to try out the cages for some batting practice. I looked into a few before settling with Grand Slam. I called the day before to set up a reservation for a cage and a pitching machine. I got a young woman who assured me I would be good to go. I even asked a few times to assure I’d have a pitching machine because it was the whole point of the visit. Me and my family drove 45 minutes there just to be told oh I’m sorry we gave the pitching machine to someone else. I told him we called the day before and reserved it and was told we’d be good to go and we’d 100% have a machine. Then he told me they might be done with it in an hour but he’s not sure. I 100% get things come up but I wasn’t given a phone call to give a heads up the machine was given away or anything. So I lugged two kids 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back for absolutely nothing. First batting place we’ve been in VB. Clean facilities, small shop for gear, has camps and clinics available, lots of space, affordable. Some people brought a more comfortable camp chair since there are only bleacher style seating. If it’s busy you spend a lot of time waiting around but it’s good practice! NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS!
Great facility! Clean, well organized, with a friendly, helpful staff. Everything you need, whether you are a player or coach. They have superb, professional instructors available, as well as some very cool technology!
Staff is amazing and super clean facility. I would have given this place 5 stars but the heavyset curly haired brunette at the front desk was extremely rude to my son and I when we were cleaning up the balls. I get that it’s busy but if I’m finishing late because the guys before us were late there’s no need to go up to a child and a father CLEANING UP and say “HEY I NEED YOU GUYS TO WRAP IT UP RIGHT NOW” like you see us cleaning up smh…other than that… great place. Better customer service sometimes goes a long way with customers
After going in with a 1st time ball player not knowing where to go or what to do, the staff treated us like we all-star players and helped us with basic instruction. They got us on our way to success.
2nd visit decided to take my daughter and son for lessons. The staff was just as accommodating with getting them lessons at the same time with neighboring cages so I could be with both kids during their separate lessons. These guys/gals will be getting our support going forward!
My 7 year old had an amazing hitting lesson with Brock at DBat! Brock was very knowledgeable, took his time in assessing my son’s swing and corrected a few key issues to get his swing aggressive and timed accurately. Brock made him work hard and hustle the whole 30 minutes. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks!
