  1. ‘ve been training here for 2 months so far ! I started a little before December, I’ve been doing the kickboxing one on one sessions. I enjoy the ability to be able to control my schedule and pick the times for training. Malik is super helpful with breaking down technique and helping me learn each session. Would definitely recommend him for one on ones ! He also has classes for kids, teens & adults if you prefer group sessions.

  2. My experience here at the MMA personal training was very meaningful to me Because it had taught me skills such as how to throw a correct punch or how to dodge/counter an attack. These skills had allowed me to protect myself in a real world situation. The coach himself is very helpful he will start you on where you are capable of handling, and he will have you do a workout session at the end to improve core strength.

  3. Training with Malik has been a great experience. When I started training I was very hesitant because I had never done anything like kickboxing before. But his friendliness, patience and encouragement made me comfortable pretty quickly. He does not hesitate to correct my technique, give criticism, or hold me accountable, which has helped me progress every session. He has great passion for this sport and it shows in how he trains. I would not have become obsessed with this sport if it wasn’t for him. If you want a trainer who will hold you accountable, is patient and passionate, check him out.

  4. So glad I came across MMA personal training ! Malik has been a super knowledgeable and patient instructor. Great place for amateurs and experts. The one on one training is the best in the inland empire hands down! If you have an interest in kickboxing or jiu jitsu, you have to swing by!

  5. My son has attended sessions at other places but he has never wanted to go back to any of them. He is comfortable here, Malik is personable and makes my kid who is nervous and anxious, feel at ease. He is able to focus, actively participate with no distractions, he gets a good workout, learns, and has fun. He pushes him just the right amount and my son genuinely enjoys his time there. Totally worth the investment, as a parent who has been to multiple places, I recommend 100% over anywhere else.

    Started my daughter with the free trial for the Karate classes. Since we’ve walked in the staff and instructors have been extremely welcoming and helpful.     I signed my three boys for muay thai classes. The coaches have preferences here with certain students and parents. I spent a lot of money with them trying to help my kids progress which they never informed me anything of my kids progress either or what they need help in. But I’m sure they did to the preferred parents students. Definitely don’t not recommend.

    My daughter did the 10 day FREE martial arts classes, and we were convinced after the first class that this was one of the better dojo’s in Riverside. We are happy with the trial and went ahead and enrolled her before it was over.

    We have 6yr boy and 4yr old girl and they are loving it! The Senseis are very good with the kids. They allow the kids space to learn and process at their own pace but also keep them line when someone is goofing off. I see my kids are progressing at a good pace! The prices are reasonable. The kids attend 4x a week. Check-in staff are friendly.

    We had a free trial for 10 days and my son loved it, he took the karate class for beginners. Everyone was so welcoming and you can definitely tell they know how to teach. I want to especially say thank you to Sensei Joey, he answered any questions I had and concerns I had about my son and the class. He took his time teaching his students and if they didn’t get it right away he had patience with them and at the end would make it a little more fun for them. Over all great experience, I definitely recommend it.

    As the parent of two mini martial artists (approaching 5 years at JSK Riverside), I can whole heartedly say that this experience has been one of the best investments for our children. The expectation of hard work goes hand-in-hand with both our beliefs at home, education and martial arts (Kenpo 5.0 Karate, Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing Fundamentals). Success is a reward to each child, even as young as 4 years old. Knowing that their tears and sweat has helped them reach that next level, is much sweeter to not just each child but to us as a family. I can honestly say that martial arts has helped both my son and daughter (ages 8 & 5) in not only taking pride in what hard work means, but it has also helped them to have self determination, focus on their goals, and to always carry themselves with respect for self and others (behavior/composure and manners are highly noticed in public settings). As their mom, it’s been an emotional learning curve. Overall, it’s been a beautiful journey as their number one fan!

    I absolutely recommend JSK. Mr. Grilli and the staff teach Kenpo by using ESP (Explain, Show, Practice) which helps establish good habits. Since my son, Mateo, became a student at JSK he has become more responsible and has learned more than just martial art skills.

    My son, Hunter told us when he turned 6 that he wanted to be a Ninja for his birthday…lol. We had seen some advertisements for the JSK 5.0 school which was not too far from our house so we signed him up for a 6 week trial. Our plan was to go through the 6 week program to get the Ninja business out if his system in time for fall ball. Things didn’t work out quite like we had planned and 4 years later Hunter is involved in everything that the school has to offer. He trains in Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Boxing Fundamentals, all available right there at the same studio. He is currently a 2nd degree brown belt and if he stays on course will obtain his junior black belt sometime in 2022. The martial arts instruction is great at the school teaching the 5.0 system of Kenpo which is a common sense style of Karate that combines elements of Jiu Jitsu and grappling along with traditional stand up Karate into a system that is useful in real world situations for real life self defense. The great part is that the kids don’t just learn a great martial art, they are also being taught life lessons in the process. Mr. Grilli and his instructors instill personal accountability and responsibility that is lacking in our society today. I feel like the life lessons that my son is learning are preparing him to be successful not only in Karate, but in life. I have seen an increase in his confidence, focus, responsibility, kindness and mental toughness over the years at this school. Another priceless perk of joining this school is that we gained a family. The atmosphere at JSK in Riverside is truly that of an extended family, and if you get involved in some of the tournaments and activities that area available at other schools that family can extend around the world. My son has made so many life long friends that it amazes me. My wife and I have also met some really great people from around the world that we consider friends as well through Hunter being involved in this school. He has friends in Germany, Australia, Texas, New Mexico as well as some of the sister schools here in California. If you are looking for a great place to get your child involved in martial arts I would look no further. This is the place to be.
