What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. We took our boys down to Tuscaloosa for a college tour and stayed at Bama B&B for one night..but wished we could have stayed longer! The owners make you feel like family from the moment you arrive! They have thought of every little detail…ice makers and Keurig’s in your room, to black towels for removing make-up. We all slept so soundly and it was spotlessly clean! The breakfast was delicious: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits and chocolate gravy! We highly recommend Bama B&B and will stay here again when we are in Tuscaloosa!

  2. This place is the gem of B&Bs. We stayed in the Crimson room upstairs – spacious, beautiful bathroom, clean, and with a comfy king bed. The host family was so sweet and cooked a delicious southern breakfast. We can’t wait to visit again!

  3. We booked a one night stay and we couldn’t be happier. First off, the property is almost 200 years old with a great history. 2nd, the property is well maintained and the accommodations are exceptional. 3rd, the family that owns the.property are some of nicest, down to earth people I have met in a long time. Lastly, the breakfast was excellent!!

  4. I stayed here for two nights in Sept 2022. I came to see my football team get smothered, as expected I might add. Marc and Kim will make you feel fully at home. Every detail has been very well done from the room, to the breakfast to the personal southern hospitality. Can’t beat it, unless of course you are prone to depression after your football team gets crushed by big Al.
All kidding aside, I WILL be back, make no mistake about it!

  5. We spent last night there. It was a great experience. Marc & Kim are awesome hosts & they turned out an amazing breakfast. You can’t beat the location, we walked from the BnB to the stadium in a few minutes. So great to be able to walk to campus. The room, like the entire time there could not get any better.

Great place! 5 out of 5

We selected the “Bama Lakeside Retreat” for our spring break trip (total of 10 people…6 adults/4 children). We were looking for a quiet place to enjoy spring break away from the crowds you find in the traditional beach communities and the Bama Lakeside Retreat delivered! The house is amazing and provided our family with plenty of space to spread out and would have easily worked for a larger group. The giant pool (heated to 89 degrees) was a hit for our group and even though the weather was highly variable (high temps ranged from the mid-50’s to 80+ degrees) we were able to swim every day and it was even great to use in the evening! The home is very well stocked with everything you can imagine and the kids really enjoyed spending time in the game room (my six year old daughter loved the doll house). The fire pit area is absolutely amazing (with a very powerful personal story behind it) and is a great place to wind down with a few drinks after a fun day in the pool. The propane fire table and big screen TV were pleasant surprises out on the patio that were used daily!

Kim and the rest of the team were incredibility responsive during all aspects of the process (response time within minutes).

I stayed. The dryer didn’t work! The shower leaked. Pool furniture was old and coming apart! Pool was nice, swings at the lake were nice. Outdoor steps to pool need to be replace! Could have been better!

Love this place–the people who own it are SUPER nice, the house is lovely, the lake and two pools are nice, and it’s pet friendly. We use this as a faculty retreat, and with sometimes over a dozen people, there’s still plenty of space for sleep, for work, and for fun.

This bed and breakfast is in violation of neighborhood covenants. I don’t need to stay there, I live in the same neighborhood. The neighborhood with covenants against running businesses out of your home. Was It really flagged by Google?

SCAM and a nightmare STAY AWAY

    – Roaches are everywhere including the beds, rooms, and common area. I will be contacting the health department as management does not care SO it can be handled properly.

-Safety I would bring some sorta self defense object as I was threaten with video proof nearly having to call the police. Not to mention they keep one door open ALWAYS meaning anyone with bad intentions can come up in there. A classic example is many individuals go to hotels to get away from a domestic violent situation(hints why you can’t call a hotel and see who is there).

-Cleaning is a joke, you are better of being the housekeeper yourself(also expects a tip) by putting dirty sheets as “clean” ones. No replacing the extras like toilet paper or towels. There is no dumpster unless I missed it…so there is no where for trash as housekeeping does not do it. They refuse to clean if YOU APPEAR TO EVEN be living there…not even a personal pillow on the bed.

-Environment is disgusting with dead bugs and alive bugs everywhere! There is mold in that building as the smell is so repulsive(most likely causing roaches). Overall, it smells of smoke, drugs, and mold. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A ISSUES BREATHING! I would not even give myself my shot there because of how gross the whole place…which is annoying as I have to go find the cleanest area available.

-People- maybe 4% of guest are their for an extended time for a business, school,or in between moves. The rest are nice individuals who maybe facing hardships and respectful. Then there are the individuals who have to ruin everything for everyone else causing problems such as the police coming, endless music, and illegal activity(most likely). Also considering most apartments require a background check….so this place would be the next best option in that situation.

-Workers- I personally did not run into many but they were always nice. While management DOES NOT CARE AS LONG AS THEY HAVE MONEY. When you check in you will be told it is safe and a nice place WHICH IS A LIE.

Well when me and my family first stayed there in September the manager that was there first she was really great and friendly and then after she left the new manager stepped in which is Stacy she was very friendly and helpful. When you go through tough times they both was helpful and understanding and I never had a problem with neither one. People was trying to make a complaint about my autistic child and they told me they understand what’s going on. Now this month came around everything was going great until this new manager stepped up. She’s very rude and don’t have great customer service and not friendly at all she tries to kick you out for no apparent reason. She couldn’t prove nothing and she’s very rude. She don’t know how to talk to people or anything. I wish Stacy or the other manager was still there I could’ve still been over there, because obviously this lady don’t like kids. The room was great

DO NOT stay here!!! Roach infested, nasty, and LOUD!! Cleaning service is a joke. Their definition of clean is a quick swipe with a vacuum. They do not leave essential such as toilet paper, towels, or soap. I am tempted to call the health department because of all the bugs.

Way to expensive, won’t fix anything in rooms, have told them to fix a couple of things & never gets around to it. The house keeper here is,really rude & 2 faced. Full of roaches, the place is Nasty got lots of Mildew & it Takes Forever For The Water To Get Hot.. This Place Isn’t Worth It. It Sucks Here.
