8/9/2022 Yesterday my dad rescued these two beautiful tuxedo kittens that were roaming around in our parking lot. The two kittens were hungry and had too many fleas on them. While my dad was at work, I took care of them overnight. Today, my dad decided to take the two kittens to this horrible animal shelter. ( more like an abuse center. ) The employees were extremely nonchalant about the kittens and refused to care for them since they believe the kittens mom is still hanging around in the parking lot ( sadly the mom was nowhere to be seen in the parking lot ). This place is terrible and the people there do NOT care about animals. I recommend people to stay away from this place. UPDATE: 9/20/2022. Last night, my dad got off work and he went to go check the mailbox. As he opened the mailbox, he saw a envelope that had the word Mesquite on it. He read through the envelope and realized it was the police department, and they were accusing him of ANIMAL ABANONMENT. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MY DAD WAS TRYING TO RESCUE THESE TWO KITTENS AND THIS IS HOW YOU THANK HIM?! Also, he has to go to court. What a shame. You people are out your minds, including the rude woman. Your business should be shut down for your dirty work. You guys are unprofessional and you CAN NOT be trusted with animals. And to all the people that’s reading this review, do not, I REPEAT, do not go to this animal shelter. IT’S DISGUSTING! P.s Why didn’t they send this ticket to the mail in August? It’s September for god sakes. UPDATE: 2/7/2023. This is my final update. Today, me and my dad finally went to court. And guess what….HE WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY!!!! WOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was his witness by the way. Just a reminder, be cautious when bringing a kitten to the shelter. You might end up in court for no reason.

I won’t try an adopt a pet from this shelter again. Waste of time. Some of the staff are nice, but others are complete a××holes. The pet that you want to adopt is always mysterious on hold…or already gone…or some other excuse. Stop this policy you have of letting people put pets on hold and then they may come back for the pet or they may not come back. What this policy does is prevent someone ready to adopt a pet right then on the spot from adoption. If the person placing the hold is not ready to take the pet right there on the spot then don’t let them place a hold on the pet preventing someone who is ready to adopt right then and there.

I took a stray dog to the Mesquite animal shelter. It was in need of help. The dog was visibly neglected and seemed to had given birth. She was still leaking fluid and some blood. The dog was wondering around a storage facility where I rent. After 3 days of watching her roam around and noticing her not going to feed any puppies I decided to take her in. (Noticing no one picked her up) You call the shelter and you listen to an operator with instructions to go online. You can’t get ahold of anyone if you call. The guy with short hair at the front desk helps out. Scans her, and turns out she’s chiped. The lady at the front desk helps out too. The overweight guy with the Edgar haircut starts giving me nasty attitude because I brought her in. This is why people don’t help out anymore. I know there is ways to talk to people and I know there’s ways to give nasty attitudes to people. Watch out for this guy. This guy will have you walking out thinking. “What’s wrong with him?”

I’ve adopted my cat from Rockwall Animal Shelter that have recently got cats transferred from Mesquite City Animal Shelter. All health records came from Mesquite as well. According to them the cat was FIV/FeLV negative. However, the next day my husband and I took her home she started to feel bad. We took her to the vet and she first was diagnosed with respiratory infection. After her blood work was done though, it turned out that my cat is FeLV POSITIVE!!! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW???? RIDICULOUS!!! AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Response to Owner: Thank you for the response. While I do not expect you to be able to control the outcome of a test what I do expect is an honest test. We have the test results from your organization that says the cat was negative but two different vets have confirmed that the cat was positive. Either you did not do the test at all and fabricated the results or you knew and lied about it just to get rid of the cat. This is absolutely unacceptable that you would try to throw us to someone else that also trusted your results and held the cat for 24 hours. They trusted you to do all testing for the animals and we trusted that you did the testing for the cat. Unfortunately, by either incompetence or misrepresentation, you did not uphold honesty or decency with innocent animals. Don’t be sorry be better.

They are very nice and friendly. If they can’t help you then they will find a way. I’ve taken in a fur baby and some kittens and they always helped me out. I’ve also adopted a fur baby over 2 years ago.👍😊
