I went in and told the manager my shrimp has gone bad the next day. He switched it for me. I even thought it was my fault. The shrimp I got smelled so bad the next day. My wife for food poisoning. I went back and got the chicken. Froze it immediately (put in seperate freezer ziplock bags, opened it about two days later and it smelled so bad it stank up the house and we had to air it out. Sad to leave stater bros because it’s been my to go. Now we go to el Super to buy meat, fish, chicken, shrimp. about 4 min away from stater bros. I had a lot of coins. A hefty Walmart bag full. As I was putting my coins in the rent a cop “security” kept coming really close to me. He passed by about 4 or 5 times. Like, too close in my personal space. Like one more time, I was about to ask him if I was doing something wrong and why he was coming up to me. As I was letting my coins run and be processed while I was finishing he came up behind me and pressed “I’m done” on the coinstar without even saying anything. I genuinely thought this was just some random guy that wanted to use the machine but it was the “security guard”. This guy needs a talking to and a lesson on personal space it was getting on my nerves and making me want to say something to him. I love the El Super in San Diego. I was hoping for a similar experience. It’s not bad here. It’s just not as good as other locations. There’s no aqua fresca bar, tamale bar or cafe. The non perishable section is a little small. The meat counter is incredibly chaotic, and it was very frustrating getting served which I have never experienced at their other locations. Great prices on meat and produce
Worst place to shop , don’t blame the personnel, but management. Need to improve on opening cashiers. 15 people waiting to pay in each register and only 3 registers open . Between 1 p.m seriously. Store # 5 12727 Sherman way north Hollywood

I walked into the store in desperation to find a birthday cake and to my surprise they had a variety of them. Most of them were Dulce de leche cakes And it was tasty and fresh. I would definitely come back here to get another cake.
Clean store smells fresh as you walk in. Very appealing! Produce is up front and was at the time of our visit very fresh. Staff in that area was very helpful. Meat counter was well stocked and looked very fresh as well. Found every5hing we needed. First visit but not the last. Prices are better than the major chains (vons, Ralph’s etc) also better variety of meats such as Carne asada, lingua, pollo asada.
