Highly recommend staying here.5 years agoLovely flat, we airbnb this home for a night as it was our first time visiting Portland. The owner was so helpful and gave us a lot of suggestions during our stay there. 5 years agoWhat an amazing stay! My family took me to Portland for my birthday and we stayed here. Beautiful yet cozy man cave. Owners are very nice they help you out with anything you need. I’m only sorry we didn’t get a chance to interact with him more, but his home is gorgeous and would definitely recommend anyone looking for a place to stay in the Portland Area to stay here. The Mississippi District location was amazing, and Shift Vacation Rentals was awesome to deal with. The house is walking distance to some of the best breweries in Portland, world class food trucks, and cool night life spots. It’s the perfect distance from the highway; easy to get to, or get on the road, but far enough away that there isn’t a ton of commuting traffic.
Both houses we’re well equipped with everything you need. The houses themselves are super cool, and are the perfect size for any event.
Recommend booking through Shift’s website, just a nice experience with out the major vacation rental app formalities. This is a well run business, will recommend to friends.
I recently celebrated my bachelor party in Portland and my 13 friends and I made this rental our home base. The front and rear homes met our every need. They were spacious, had plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and spaces to congregate, and every single room was equipped with a split system. The space was very convenient, being just a short walk from Mississippi, and minutes away from I5.
Michelle, our host, has been wonderful. Without me even asking, she went ahead and allowed us to check in early at noon the day of our arrival. There were thoughtfully treats like local coffee, chocolates, and popcorn that she also provided. The whole experience has been wonderful and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We had such a wonderful time at the Low Gear Shift house! It was clean, well stocked and so comfortable, inside and out. The beds are so comfortable making nights so restful. We enjoyed the patio at sunrise and sunset. Landscaping helped with privacy so we watched the glow of the sun morning and night even though we couldn’t see it on the horizon, the colors on the foliage made up for it. There are plenty of dishes and cookware that made it so easy to prepare our own meals with Safeway just a few blocks away to purchase groceries. The co-op market was walking distance away and fresh vegetables and what nots could be purchased there. Neighborhood has an artsy feel to it and very casual, loved seeing all the dogs being walked by!
The only con of this space was the parking, side street parking made it challenging when loading and unloading the car. We were able to park out front for this but having others park there for the Tin Shed across the street made it challenging. We were able to find parking all 4 days within the block. Just had to be planful.
I would highly recommend the rental. The owners are very responsive and thorough in providing directions and support. I left my laptop on accident and Michelle responded to me immediately. Fantastic stay, fantastic people!
Shift Vacation Rentals is awesome. The home we stayed in was well stocked, adorable decorating and a perfect spot for a family get together! We loved being on Alberta with shops and restaurants right there. Parking was easy. We had a great time – thank you Michelle & Klaas!!
We rented the entire house on Alberta Ave. It was perfect for our 4 different households coming together (12 with kiddos and a dog). Super fun neighborhood with lots of cool shops and restaurants. The house (both units) has so many amenities and was really so cozy for the extended family to chill. It was in the high 80s so we were extremely grateful for the AC. An absolute treasure! We hope to rent one of the Shift Vacation Rental properties again soon!
