a week agoWhat a personable and pleasurable experience! Staying here was incredible! It suited our needs to a T. Traveling with various ages (ages from 9 to 94)The Woodrow House was most accommodating. We loved our rooms – The Caboose and The President’s Room. Breakfast was elegant and an experience of fine dining! The swimming pool was great for the 2 kids. It was calming and quiet and we enjoyed the resident cat in charge! Dawn and CoCo both were fabulous and very focused on our needs. It was the total essence of wonderful customer service!2 weeks agoMy grandson and I stayed in the President’s room. There was plenty of room for the roll away bed that my grandson slept on. Both beds were very comfortable. We both enjoyed the backyard pool and the games that were available in the living area. Dawn prepared a wonderful two course full breakfast before we had to leave. I only wish that we could have stayed longer because staying at the Woodrow House was a wonderful experience.in the last weekI’ve enjoyed every visit to the Woodrow House Bed & Breakfast. The owners are friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are comfortable. We stayed when I moved my daughter to TTU for her first year of college; Dawn, the owner, gave me a small TTU tissue holder with tissues for my drive back home. She said she makes one for all the moms who leave their kids. I used it several times. She even gave my daughter her card and invited her for a home-cooked meal if she is lonely. This is something you will never receive at a hotel. I love staying at the Woodrow House Bed & Breakfast.2 weeks agoI love going places that have CLEAN and unique rooms with great service. Coco made us feel at home from the second we stepped in. Breakfast wasn’t my 100% fav (I prefer more of the basics–eggs, pancakes, biscuits, sausage, etc.), but I appreciated how healthy it was and the effort. Great time meeting good folks. We will definitely stay on future visits.2 months agoWe love staying at the Woodrow House, even making sure that there is availability before planning a trip that passes through Lubbock. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. I love having the opportunity to relax with a glass of wine and snacks either in our room or poolside. The bedding and towels are luxurious. The breakfasts are varied, tasty. I shared photos of our well-appointed room with friends who suggested that we cancel our trip to Santa Fe and just hang out at the Woodrow House! We will definitely return!

4 months agoRoom was dirty upon arrival. Messaged the hotel center and they did reply to me promptly to get this taken care of. Sylvia showed up kind as can be and took care of everything. She was so nice and professional that it was hard to be so upset. Overall I wouldn’t come back since the beds are way too hard.8 months agoWe stayed in the Mac Davis Suite. This is a hybrid condo and hotel. There is no formal desk for hotel check-in, but there is an office during working hours. We checked in late in the evening after a long drive. The instructions and codes for the suite were accurate and easy to follow. Instructions for parking could have been better, but we figured it easily enough.There was a great information sheet on amenities and nearby businesses that could provide what we needed.
The suite was clean and as advertised. We could hear activity in the hallway, but it wasn’t bad. There were TV monitors in both the sitting area and opposite the bed. The bed was super comfy. My only complaint about the bed is that an extra blanket might have been nice, as it was winter.
It felt very good to stay in a downtown location in a building with history in the Lubbock area. It was lovely to see young energy in this part of Lubbock and I sincerely hope that effort continues. I loved that it was close to the Buddy Holly Center and the bricked roads. My husband loved the Lubbock Brewery downstairs. Lubbock deserves a beautiful downtown district.

Love the historical/boutique hotel vibe along with the slower paced location of downtown.8 months agoClever idea for a hotel in downtown Lubbock. There are mostly condos, but They also have a number of rooms. Nothing over the top, but they are nice. Our room looked out on a brick wall. In the lobby there is a brew pub, a big plus in my husband’s book, and a high-end restaurant called The West Table.

I arrived in the middle of the night to check in for my reservation on 5/25/23 and the person at the front desk could not have seemed to hate their job any more. They would only speak very short with me and indicated that my arrival was an inconvenience for them. They gave me my keys and I was glad to leave their presence.
The rooms were perfectly adequate; no crazy smell like some places. It had all the typical checkboxes met. Nothing extraordinary whatsoever about it but I did the trick.
In the morning, I get up early enough for breakfast. It’s served until 9 so I came out at about 8:40. I would have gone earlier but didn’t arrive until 1:30 am and needed sleep before getting back on the road. I expected there to still be food 20 minutes before they shut breakfast down. All that was left was the waffle maker and a few scrambled eggs. It was terrible. I decided to get breakfast somewhere else on my way out of town.
The woman who I checked out was very pleasant, however. She checked me out very quickly and was very personable and friendly the whole time. She is the reason I gave the hotel a 3 instead of a 2.
If I could leave zero stars I would! First I checked in very late and there was no one at the front desk. They left the keys to my room on the counter along with a paper that had all my information on it. My guess is that they were somewhere asleep. I called and expressed my concerns to the GM and he was nonchalant. No apology or anything. The tub was stopped up, I called about that and needing a remote and the front desk lady had an attitude every time. I asked for the room to be serviced by housekeeping because we are staying for 5 nights and they never came. They also told us we couldn’t have towels because they didn’t have any clean and they were short on towels. Front desk attendants are rude with every encounter. I’ll never stay at a la Quinta again.
I have been here since Monday. I did not get room service on Tuesday. This morning (Wednesday) I informed the lady downstairs that I needed room service, especially towels, as I had no more clean. She told me she would make sure I got room service. Even repeated my room# back to me. I get back from work to the room at 6:30pm and nothing was done. No clean towels, trash not taken and now I have to wait to get some towels. I work road construction and get back sweaty and ready for a shower and no clean towels.
Very nice hotel. Close to a lot of eateries and right off a main road. Pet friendly. Lots of parking, too. That may change as they build up the surrounding area, but overall it was nice. We stayed here only for one night on the way to Palo Duro from the Tex/Mex border. Quiet and decent breakfast.
Room looked clean. No bugs in the room. Walking around the room barefoot turned our feet black. Cleaning service must not do floors. One cup for coffee. Go thing I couldn’t have anything to eat or drink. Will be staying somewhere else.
