What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. filthy, literally trash everywhere inside and out. No produce bags on the stands but plenty strewn across the floor. Always shortstaffed due to poor management, prices have almost doubled on some items, daily theft happening, theres no loss prevention in store, the past few years theyve implemented several “anti theft” devices which just inconvenience the 90% of people just trying to pay. Theres never any managers and when you do find one they’re rude and act like helping you is an inconvenience. If you like shopping in chaos and supporting abuse of employees keep coming here! Only a matter of time before the store has a complete re staffing or its shut down.

  2. I’ve been to the meat department several times over the past months, there is a terrible (something died) meat smell in the meet department. Another couple and myself were walking near the meat counter and we just looked at each other in discussed. How can anyone buy meat with a smell that makes you gag? I stopped buying my meat there.
Don’t the workers in the meat Dept or anyone smell that? 🤢

  3. I needed one item. They did not have it, but I found a replacement – no biggie. As soon as I scan my one item, an Attendant notification goes off. He takes a few minutes but turns off the alarm, and then before I’d even TOUCHED anything it goes off again! I waited ten minutes watching the attendant do anything and everything but come over before I finally switched registers and left. ONE ITEM!!

  4. Seeing an obvious rented portable surveillance camera in the parking lot should have been my first instinct to just leave, entering the store I was greeted with unmannered children playing / riding the handicapped carts whom felt the need to exchange rude words. The store is filthy, all self checkout, no liquor (for obvious reasons I now see) icing on the cake is being when I got home to notice my bag of 10 tortillas that seal was open, and would you believe it? Yeah, nine in the package. Disgusting un managed filth. Never going back.

  5. Broken glass ALWAYS in parking lot, checkout machines are the size of a thimble, Kroger cards magically don’t apply discounts regularly here, and so many things constantly out of stock. I come back every few months to this location to see if it’s better, but there’s always problems

Kroger’s pick up service is fantastic and the workers what work there are friendly and fast. The only reason I dock points is because it is painfully obvious their employees are being worked to the bone for what I can imagine is very little pay.

If you need groceries this is definitely a great affordable place to pick them up but try to treat any workers you see with respect as they bust their butts trying to make your experience even slightly easier.

This Kroger has the best flower shop I have ever seen! The gentleman that runs it is one of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He truly cares about what he does and the people he helps. If I lived here I would never go to another flower shop again!!

There is a line halfway across the store, a grand total of 2 self checkouts are open, and I count another 16 self checkouts they didn’t bother to turn on (not even counting the assisted checkout lines where of course zero are open). *Every* time I come here it’s like this. Costs me ten minutes of waiting in line just to buy a single item, and the only reason I ever do it is because my only other option is to drive an extra ten minutes to go someplace with a sane checkout process. So it’s a wash in the end. But it’s infuriating because it’s self checkout anyway! Just turn on more lanes, it costs you nothing! The rest of the store is fine. The checkout process is absolutely the worst.

My recent experiences at Kroger have left me disappointed. It’s disheartening to feel scrutinized while scanning items at the checkout, and the need to prove payment at exit adds unnecessary stress. As a shopper, I expect a smoother process and better customer service. It’s challenging when you essentially become the cashier and bagger without receiving any discount for your effort. Considering these factors, I’m inclined to explore other options for a more hassle-free shopping experience. I won’t shop at any Kroger anymore.

I’m not sure why I keep coming here. The location is relatively convenient, but the prices are higher than other places, the meat and produce are of average quality, but the real kicker here is the service. They always have incredibly long lines, and management doesn’t seem to care enough to fix it. Save yourself and shop elsewhere.

This Kroger recently began posting misleading signs which hide the retail price of their items. The “Price with Digital Coupon” is shown in big numbers, but the actual retail price is completely blocked by the black bar sleeve holding the sign. Because of this, I was charged $5 more on my grocery bill than I was expecting. Many customers will not notice and will end up paying much higher grocery bills. I have not seen this kind of misleading practice in other stores, so I felt it was important to share my experience with this store so customers can decide for themselves whether they want to risk being tricked by a sneaky marketing strategy. I will shop there less frequently than before, but if this signage is fixed to display the retail price very clearly, then I will take down this review and continue my normal shopping habits.

*** Update 7/3/23: Not only has this location not fixed their price signs (after I talked to customer service about it), they’ve actually DOUBLED DOWN on the malicious trickery. In the Cherries photo, it clearly says “$2.99lb with card” on the big sign, but this ONLY applies if you have the digital coupon, although the big sign does not specify this. A smaller sign mentions this, and even smaller is the actual price of $4.99. If it isn’t clear that this is confusing and tricking consumers, I watched a man spend 10 minutes being confused at the register about needing to download the Kroger app (and give away his personal data) just to qualify for what he thought was the regular retail price of his items while I checked out speedily next to him.

Just think for a moment about how many people are not noticing that they’re paying a lot more for items than they originally think. If this store’s business model relies on tricking its consumers, it’s a place that consumers should avoid, even if that means driving a few more minutes to a different grocery store. Do not shop here.

Good location near North Campus. I stop here occasionally on my way home as it’s very busy in the afternoons and the store seems a lot more crowded inside with narrower aisles than other Kroger locations. There is a lot of parking but the lot can get crowded depending on the time of day as there are other businesses.

Consistently clean bottle room during Covid – a good sign. Fantastic selection of international foods. Would like to see more employees try harder to give customers a little more “right of way” in the aisles during this pandemic and its commonly courteous social distancing. Good habits do last a lifetime…

Shopping at the Plymouth Rd store in Ann Arbor. Chelsea in Deli was the fastest staff, I was in and out in no time, very professional, it was great not to have a long wait. The check out staff were also very friendly.

I tried to tell the manager, she had a long line of people. A bit frustrating they don’t do something about people hanging outside with signs begging for money.

It’s not their fault! The workers are doing their best. Inadequate staff. No checkout help. Kroger is an increasingly worsening experience for the customer and Kroger executives don’t seem troubled by that. It’s the closest grocery to my house and probably the cheapest but I am looking. The staff is friendly and as helpful as management let’s them be.
