What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I like seasoning and flavor. I find the food quite average. The spinach and artichoke dip was somewhat bland to me. I am comparing their dip to The Chimes. The Chimes’ spinach and artichoke dip is a staple to reference. Fatman (yes this is his food critic name) called our meal, gourmet hospital food (wooo those are fighting words). The melted club is a sandwich and That’s all I have to say about that (in my Forrest Gump voice). The ranch blows nuggets. The bread pudding was the best part of my experience. I’d go back if someone wanted to get bread pudding. Our waiter was great!

  2. If you don’t like a crowd, get there right before happy hour starts. The spinach artichoke dip and homemade chips were great. I’d have to try different good options another time to really give this place a good rating. I’ve heard their brunch is good, so I’d start there

  3. Gabe is a great server! He was very personable and made us feel welcome since it was our first time here. We love the food and would the unique concepts. We will definitely be back!

  4. I’ve only gone twice so far, and each time, I’ve had no issue finding a place to park in the back. There’s outdoor dining if you want to bring a pet or feel like enjoying the sunshine, and of course indoor dining as well.
As for the servers: they’re wonderful! They can certainly help you with recommendations or even just a great conversation! Lovely people and spirits there.
I enjoy the food, and my absolute favorite thing to eat is the carrot soufflé.

  5. Just okay nothing really outstanding. Ordered the chicken and dumplings, and knew that they weren’t the traditional old fashioned style… but their twist on this dish just wasn’t for me. Should have stayed with the salad, which has always been good.

Long time favorite… good traditional French breakfast, onion soup and coffee. Cafe could use an upgrade and some updating. Service is average, but do enjoy the food.

I placed my order via the app. It was a horrid experience. I received a chicken caesar salad with very little lettuce and no chicken. I received again very little chicken in my chicken pasta, no sauce. In the notes, I said no pesto. The manager Larry argued with me that no pesto meant no sauce. My bowl of soup had a cup of soup portion. This is the 2nd time that my order was messed up. Now LaMadeleine corporately is increasing prices and downsizing portions complemented by poor quality food.

What a experience!! I walked in immediately love the decor, it looked like a French cafe. The customer service was great everyone was so nice. The bathrooms were so clean and alot of French decor. The food I got was the chicken friand( may have spelled that wrong) it was a chicken puff pastry absolutely great. Also my wife got French toast, not sure what bread they used but it was good also fresh strawberries on top. Last we got dessert, I had the pecan tart that was the first time having this I was blown away. I highly recommend eating here when visiting baton rouge!!

Extra points for leaving the Xmas tree up until February, like they do in France.

Always a treat to go here. Had the build your own omelet, great croissants, good coffee and free bread samples with butter and jam. Been going since the first store opened on Mockingbird Ave in Dallas many years ago. A classic eatery.

The family and I love eating here! The food is fresh and delicious. My favorites are the Chicken Caesar sandwich and tomato soup. The freshly baked bread is always great as well. They have lots of amazing desserts… we recommend to anyone looking for something different than a burger place.

Good food but cashier was not sure what to charge. I think the price of more than $4 for a glass of tea, that didn’t include refills, was a little excessive. Makes you wonder if someone was trying to pad their pockets??? 🤔 And don’t go within an hour of closing. When they are ready to close, they are ready to leave! As evident by the female manager walking through the restaurant at 5 minutes before closing time, announcing “I’m locking the door” 😡
