Whenever I come to AZ to visit I try to come to as many classes as possible. The experience this gym has is incredible with 4 black belts, and not to mention others who are excellent teachers! They offer so many different training times! This place is definitely your gym, whether you are new or an experienced competitor or just looking for self defense! - Reviews:New gym home. Reasonable and approachable ownership. Get your work on! This gym is the fresh start I sorely needed due to past gym experiences. The coaches will actually TAKE THE TIME to walk you through on technique. As any gym worth their salt should do that for you. They offer training for children as well. And as a dad of an 8 year old- I’m sure you can tell the importance of that! The gym is also incredibly close from where I live and easy to find as it is quite close to the 101 freeway. Please feel free to give the gym an honest try. Believe me- part of me was NOT looking forward to start. Starting is the hardest thing. Once you start- keep consistent. Our son went to 3 classes and all 3 the Times were unprofessional. We pulled our son from the program. We asked for some of our money back and he lied saying it will be back in my account that same day. We never received it. I can’t say enough great things about Victory! My son has been going to the Tigers class for just over a month and his behavior and confidence has improved greatly! I love how they incorporate real-life info (listen to mom and dad, no whining, don’t go with strangers, etc.) into what they are working on each class. My son loves when he gets chosen to demonstrate in front of the class and isn’t nervous about it like he used to be. The whole staff is great and love that we come as a family to most classes and they always interact with my little one who isn’t quite old enough for classes yet. 😉
Our son has been going to Victory for months now and we’re so glad we found something he loves! The instructors are so kind and uplifting and have helped him in so many ways. He’s confident and shows more respect for himself and others. He always wants to go to class and has made so many friends! If you’re looking for a great place for your children or yourself, look no further, Victory is #1
The instructors here are beyond amazing!!! Not only are you kids learning martial arts but awesome life lessons. The instructors have so much energy and keep the kids motivated while being encouraging! We enjoy going to the homeschool classes that they offer.
My boys absolutely love the weapons training there! Swords, bo staff, nunchucks! They think it’s the coolest thing ever!
This place has been such a welcoming home to my child and family. Not only are all the instructors patient and kind with the kids, but they go out of their way to make everyone feel like family and welcomed from the minute you walk in to noticing when you haven’t been around. This facility also hosts events both in the community and with their families- big on creating a safe respectful environment while also having the patience for the younger one. Awesome to the see just how quickly this place feels like home
BEST Karate Instructors in Arizona!
My wife and I signed our 3 kids (ages 4, 6, 9) up for Karate lessons about over 1 year ago at Victory Martial Arts in Mesa AZ.
What Impressed Me The Most:
From the very first interaction with Mr. Pederson (Karate Instructor), I was impressed. He was energetic, excited, knowledgeable, friendly, and overall a great teacher/mentor and role model for our boys. He also really understood his curriculum and taught it well.
Structure:
We want our kids to have an amazing time, be happy and excited to come to class but we also want them to learn valuable life lessons. They teach Karate but also the basics of building a strong character. Respect, teamwork, hard work, stewardship, confidence, and they teach the class in a way where the kids also have a wonderful and fun time.
If you are looking for a “Boarding School” type Karate class (super strict), this is not the place for you. This place is great for kids having fun, learning a lot, enjoying building their self confidence, building relationships, learning karate, growing their inner-character, learning to be disciplined, working hard, and making friends.
Price:
You pay for what you get at this place. Are they a little on the “pricier” side, maybe… It depends on how you look at it. Before coming to Victory Martial Arts, our boys were taking Karate lessons at another place in Val Vista Lakes where they did not receive as much direction, guidance, encouragement, and the curriculum was not as solid. The other place was cheaper though…. It was nothing compared to Victory Martial Arts. It is well worth the price!!!
Atmosphere:
Fun. Great music. Energetic. Inviting.
Class Size:
It depends on what days/times you sign up for. We come on Mon, Wed, and Fridays. During these days, the max class sizes we have seen is around 10-30 which is perfect. There are usually 2 instructors (which we love) because as one instructor is teaching the class, the 2nd instructor is giving individualized attention to those who need help (great value added in this approach).
