  1. This is hands down one of the best if not the best MMA coaches in the Jackson area. Marshall has been trained by Olympic coaches and competed at the highest level for years. I had not idea I’d be able to learn so much in just 1 class. I left feeling like I got the best coaching possible for MMA. 100% WOULD RECOMMEND

He and all of the students are very supportive, dedicated, respectful, talented, and take pride in learning kickboxing! Marshall is very patient and teaches with precise communication and demonstrations! Love everything about my experience! I definitely recommend this academy! It is definitely worth it!

  4. Google should allow 10 stars!! My daughter and I had a great time learning technique and getting a good sweat. I left feeling great and excited about the next class. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the instructor pushes you beyond your limits without being offensive. He’s a great coach and ensures your comfortability. I look forward to returning and beginning my martial arts journey!!

  5. Marshall hands down impressed me the first visit. His authority, taking the time to make sure each move is taught and done correctly, making the kids take accountability of their actions, the praise when they do well, just so many many traits that makes this the right choice for my son. I promise you that if you take the time to visit here once you will be glad you did. Marshall has a psychological understanding with children that goes beyond just the martial arts and that is rare.

    This review is longer than normal, but it’s thorough. I learned that I would be traveling to the Jackson/Flowood area for work and wanted to continue training. I asked my Coach David Morris where I should train, and he wholeheartedly stated that I should go to Precision Martial Arts. I took his advice and dropped in for a class. I was immediately greeted by Coach Josh Kennon who was friendly and direct. I got to class about 45 minutes early and was able to sit and observe kids’ class. Coach Josh was able to keep the kids attention, by engaging them in Jiu Jitsu based games and helping focus their attention during instruction by asking tournament point-based questions, which may not seem like a lot, but you could see these kids light up when they got the answer right. Each of those kids were smiling during the entirety of that class. As the kids class ended, I observed the Coaching staffs dedication to hygiene and cleanliness, and in todays day and age, that is of paramount importance. Not only was Coach Josh Kennon cleaning the mats, but he also employed numerous adult students, who eagerly volunteered to help. The adult class was friendly and informative, and all of the fellow students went out of their way to introduce themselves, and at no time did I feel like I was a stranger. This is where I was introduced to Coach Anthony Mitchell. Coach Mitchell instructed the adult class, and it was awesome. Coach Mitchells passion and devotion to the art and sport was apparent from the start. The hour plus, spent learning and then rolling with my partner for the night, and later Coach Mitchell were fantastic! I never felt like an outsider who was just “visiting”. This is one of the common bonds that is shared between those who participate and live both the art and sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. If you’re in the Jackson Mississippi area and want to get into BJJ, get back into BJJ, get your kids into BJJ, look no further, this is the place to go! The professionalism, dedication to the art and sport, cleanliness and overall family feel experienced in this school are second to none.

    Best gym in the south! Skillful, technical instructors and a wide range of experienced members keeps you motivated and coming back for more!! Try it out for day with no pressure and get a feel for it. The gym is very involved with local and national BJJ tournaments without neglecting the day to day self defense framework. 1000% recommend for anyone no matter who you are!

    From day one, I was welcomed in like family. I have really bad social anxiety, so this was great for me. The classes and training are a lot of fun and extremely good exercise. I have loved learning jiu jitsu, but the friends and connections I have made have been the greatest benefit by far.

    We’ve had our daughter at TR for 2.5 years, since she turned 4 and could start in the Cubs class. We’ll start our son in the fall when he is old enough! It has been a great outlet for her personality and temperament, and has helped shaped great character qualities in her, like self-control, patience, good attitude, determination, and more. Everyone on staff is so great to interact with and she has loved all of her instructors from the beginning. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Dear, have always been quick to respond to any questions we have had. The staff has been so diligent and flexible during Covid also. I absolutely love how flexible the schedule is and how you can see/hear what is going on in their class (neither of which I had the options with when we tried gymnastics). Will always recommend Tiger Rock to anyone who asks 🙂

    I highly recommended Tiger Rock Martial Arts for any boy or girl ages 4+. My son started Tiger Rock in June of 2016 at the age of 7; just as a summer activity…Here we are over 1.5 yr later, he is almost 9 and is very involved and loves it. It really was one of the best decisions we’ve made; he has learned so much more than the art of kicking and punching; he’s learned concentration, how to work as a team, how to support and respect others, how to handle disappointments and even how to handle himself in a humble manner during his accomplishments. The instructors at Tiger Rock are great; they treat each kid like family, and are truly invested in each one. They want to see them succeed not only on the mat but in life. My only regret is we didn’t start sooner, if you haven’t seen the Tiger Cubs (4-5 yr olds) in action, you are missing out.

    My grandson has been taking Taekwondo from Tiger-Rock since April of 2019. In the last two years he has grown in his self confidence and loves going to class. All of the instructors are wonderful. They encourage each student to do their best, and regardless of the outcome to be proud of their efforts and to move forward. Enrolling him in this program was such a great decision!

    We love Tiger Rock! My only regret is not starting my son sooner! I really had no idea the positive impact it would have on him. The instructors are so great with all the kids. And they also are great with the parents! I’m not easily impressed and I only want the best for my kids and they are the best and have impressed me so very much. I honestly cannot give them enough praise.

    I really can’t say enough great things about Tiger Rock. We’ve been a part of it for 4 years now and it’s been wonderful. The staff/instructors are, by far, the best you’ll find. It’s a great family-friendly atmosphere and I am so thankful to have found it. For our children, it has given them confidence, self-control, and helped to develop leadership skills. It’s awesome!
