What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I have been a resident of VOV for almost 5 years. I came upon this place when I was living in Florida and I was planning on moving to California to be closer to my kids and grandkids. I did research for almost a year and Valley Oaks Village kept popping up as the place for me. I loved the fact that they have a bus and a cab for us residents. We use the bus for trips and food shopping etc. This place offers many extra amenities that caught my eye. I love our monthly dinners and lunches etc.
Our Management is awesome, most especially Angela, who is most caring and concerned for our welfare. We are all seniors here and Angela and her staff keep us informed at all times as to what is happening around our complex and also sending us many notices on our doors to keep us informed about everything going on. I cannot think of another place that I would rather be than Valley Oaks Village. We are a small community and it is like family here. Management as well as all my friends and peers all care about one another. It is a wonderful place to spend your senior years.
Angela and her staff treat us residents like family. She is always open to listening to our complaints and also the many good things that we often have to say. I enjoy living here because of how Angela and her staff treat us. It’s a very special place to live.

  2. Valley Oaks Village has been my home for 9 years come this August, 2020. I moved to California from the Midwest, from an Estate in the Suburbs to be closer family here in California.. I was quite impressed with Valley Oaks Village’s sparkling pool and spa area adjacent to the exercise room and the clubhouse. The mail room, laundry rooms and all the common areas are kept very clean. The grounds are very beautiful with sitting benches all around even in the dog park. I searched and viewed many apartments in LA County over about a six month period. Price wise an otherwise this place is the best in Newhall, Management and maintenance are tops. I give them an A+ for their service and efforts.

  3. I love this property. I’m a new tenant and don’t the bkdrop. But the staff “DE’JUANNA”, “ANGELA” & OTHERS that I’ve met while talking to them and touring all have been extremely kind, funny, patient,
Informative, and compassionate. Professional too. I think the other qualities are important while servicing the disabled and elderly.

I think I’m going to enjoy my stay here!!!

Food food food [inside joke] 😋 thank you ladies

  4. Rules on size of pets or “service dogs” keep changing, original weight was 20 lbs. We.now have dogs over that weight. People are claiming lg pets as service dogs and management says there’s nothing they can do about it, Some of these dogs are not friendly.

  5. I lived there for 3 years. I loved it . The management Angela, Emily and Madison are wonderful. As well as the maintenance team. I miss them already . I miss my friends over there the beautiful trees and walking distance from shopping.
I only moved out to be closer to family members.
I would like to thank everyone for their help and support.
I would love to go back there if I can🙏

My sister and I found Pacifica as we were looking for new and immediate living accommodations for our ailing father in August, 2022. Their director of sales, Nicole Wessel, was extremely accommodating and helpful in getting the ball rolling so that our father would be able to move into Pacifica when he was discharged from the hospital. At the time, my sister and I felt relatively assured that we had made the appropriate choice for what our father was going to need, care wise. Within a week of his moving in, we started to have doubts about our father living at Pacifica. The front desk staff was impatient and almost rude when my sister and I would ask questions or seek support for our father (we were new to the world of assisted living, and definitely did not know the ropes yet). On his second day there, we had lunch with our father, having been told during our tour that residents were able to eat with visitors in the cafeteria. Partway through lunch, one of front desk staff rather rudely told us that we would have to leave. Confused, we explained that we were almost done eating (really, my father was the only one actually having lunch) and that were had been told that residents WERE allowed to have guests eat with them. We were hurried out so as not to further break the rules. I believe that this instance put my father off from ever eating in the public space again, and he took the rest of his meals in his room rather than go downstairs. It also seemed pretty apparent that there were not NEARLY enough caregivers for the number of residents staying at Pacifica. My father, being bedridden, used a call button for things like using the bathroom and getting dressed. In the times that my sister and I would visit him, we’d often wait over an hour before someone would come to assist our father. On at least one occasion, he was no longer able to hold his bowels while he waited. This is not something that should happen to a man who was actually being given the dignity and respect he deserved. Although being assured that caregivers would check on him and provide company throughout the day, our father was almost always alone. He had a rather serious fall once because (as he explained) he got bored being alone all day and decided to try and walk (this obviously was a poor choice on his part, but I feel perhaps would not have happened if he was being more closely attended to). Furthermore, his hygiene was not attended to in the manner that had been explained to us. He had one shower in the three weeks he stayed there, my sister and I did his laundry (aside from the bed linens that had to be changed because of his incontinence), and it did not appear his room was ever cleaned (although housekeeping was to be provided). My sister and I had to send numerous emails inquiring about these missing services before they were minimally addressed. We decided after only a week and a half that Pacifica was NOT the best placement and we started looking for better accommodations. I sent THREE emails to their directors explaining that our father would be moving out before someone finally answered. Only after stating that our father would be moving out did anyone truly inquire about the quality of our father’s care, despite the several prior emails inquiring about the lack of services he was being provided. We moved our father out at the beginning of October. I was told after putting in his notice that he’d be moving that he’d still be responsible for paying for October. After his move, I inquired several more times about this final payment only to find out that Pacifica would be reimbursing him $29. I have contacted Angelica, the executive director, several times regarding this money and she has yet to respond. The lack of care and service that Pacifica provides makes me caution ANYONE from having a loved on stay there. My family had a terrible experience with them, start to finish, and I do not wish anyone else to experience the same.

Latasha Moody’s exceptional work ethic and kindness touches the family members of those who reside at Pacifica Senior Living in Newhall California in a special way. My mom has Alzheimer’s and my grandma, 95 just broke a hip. They both live at Pacifica Senior Living. My dad who has Parkinson’s visits almost daily. Latasha tries to make their difficult situation as good as possible by being kind and encouraging. Latasha is great about keeping me informed. She is proactive in her approach which is extremely important as I live hours away.  For example, my grandma needed a wheelchair pad to avoid skin breakdown.  Latasha let me know right away so we could address the problem immediately. Working with Latasha is easy and straightforward. She is reliable, consistent, and kind. Thank you Latasha!

My mom suffers from Alzheimer’s and it was getting harder and harder for my dad to take care of her at home. I called various communities in the Santa Clarita Valley and started looking for the best option for mom. What impressed me right away about Pacifica Senior Living was Nicole Wessel, the Community Relations Director. Nicole was available when I called and comfortably answered any questions I had right away and gave me a Facetime tour making a great first impression. Once Dad was on board with Mom’s move, Nurse Raina went to my parents’ house to assess Mom’s care needs and was very kind to my parents. Nicole advocated for medical documentation to be completed on time and found a mobile chest x-ray service that could provide TB test results on the same day. In three weeks, Nicole had moved mountains for Mom to move in, but on the day of the move, Mom refused to get in the car! Nicole saved the day and connected me with a transport service that would help us transport Mom. Now that Mom is in memory care, Latosha, Kenya, and Venita are helping Mom get familiar with her new home. We are very grateful for the kindness that Pacifica Senior Living has shown our family through this very challenging and stressful time.

Our experience at Pacifica Senior Living in Santa Clarita was one of excellence! The staff was very caring, my Mom’s room clean and the food was great! As my Mom progressed in her disease of Alzheimers, the staff continued to provide her with excellent care. She has since passed away, but we miss the friends we made at this facility. They become part of your family. Thank you again to Pacifica for your wonderful care of our Mom!

Making the decision to place a loved one in an Assisted Living or Memory Care Community can be very stressful. It seemed to be overwhelming, and with COVID-19 very challenging. We are so happy with our decision to secure an apartment in Pacifica Senior Living Santa Clarita. Working with their entire staff, from the administration, medical staff, concierge and maintenance, we never felt stressed or overwhelmed. The transition went so smooth, very profession and very quickly. The staff was excellent with communication and compassion. We feel strongly that our loved one is in good hands and will flourish in her new environment and community. Thank you so much

Atria Life Guidance has been a great place for my mom who has severe dementia. When I visit she is always well dressed and groomed and engaged in some group activity like music or crafts. The staff have exceeded any expectations I ever had; they are always helpful and patient and have consistently communicated my moms needs to me, which is very helpful. Many of the staff have been there a long time which says to me that its a good place to work. The rooms are lovely, the building is clean, there are staff everywhere, lots of care going on all the time. I also want mention that Atria admin has been very helpful, coordinating insurance things, going way out of their way to do an intake interview with my mom, things like that. Its not easy to care for all the folks in a memory unit but they do a great job.

I wanted to take a quick opportunity to recognize the team of Atria Santa Clarita for the professionalism and courtesy that not only we’ve seen (as kids of a parent/resident there) but that’s shown to my Mom on a consistent basis. When we had to find an appropriate new home when we moved Mom out of her home (first time in independent living) we looked around thoroughly and found Atria to be the most open, comfortable, warm and welcoming facility and community. Like many, she did well until the pandemic and we moved her into the Memory Care facility…wish we did this some time ago as she has THRIVED!! She’s active all the time with her friends & co-residents, Adrienne and Paul provide awesome communication and April and the team are great with activities, music, exercises and keeping things positive. Happy to have the ability and opportunity to visit and see Mom in her environment with great care and attention!

I found Atria in my search for memory care for my husband after his stroke. The Staff at Atria is caring and understanding. The rooms are clean and bright. The food is good. The staff keeps the residents engaged and motivated and happy. Adrienne the Director and staff keep me apprised of any changes or needs. It was a good move for him. Very happy with my decision.

We placed my mother in Atria Life Guidance (memory clinic) in June of this year. The communication and orientation to the facility was very thorough. I was immediately impressed with how Clean the residence was as well as kindness and helpfulness of all levels of staff. She enjoys and actively participates in the daily interactive activities and mealtimes. I highly recommend Atria, it has given my family a wonderful peace of mind knowing she has been welcomed into a new family where she is well cared for and happy!

My mother is currently living at the Memory Care facility at Atria Santa Clarita. Adrienne, the Life Guidance Director, is passionate about the residents and is a great source when seeking advice and/or finding solutions to concerns that may arise with your loved one. Adrienne will also reach out to let you know of anything that you may need to be aware of. My mother has been at the Memory Care facility for almost a year and is very happy. My mother has experienced an outing to visit a park and another to enjoy some ice cream. The activities leader, Vangie, offers different crafts and games to the residents. I have seen my mother and others enjoying the balloon toss. The staff is engaging, respectful, knowledgeable, and experienced. I have a great piece of mind knowing that my mother is getting great care at Atria. Attached is a photo of my mom and I for Atria’s Mother’s Day event. Caroline
