What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Always top notch and superb service. It took me about four visits here to even make it past the happy hour apps and cocktails, but I have never had anything I didn’t love here. For sure the absolute best happy hour in Lexington. The escargot and beef carpaccio are my constant favorites and I always start with a French 75 and then some champagne. Finally made it to the duck entree (that one time) and it was incredible. And the chocolate mousse to finish off a perfect evening is a crowd pleaser, always. Can’t wait to get back to this place over and over again. Happy hour starts at 5. See ya there!

  2. The appetizers and Prosecco came in a timely manner, but we think they forgot about our main meal. The food was delicious, but was very cold.

  3. Fun, upbeat place. Food and service were great. The boullabaise was as good as it gets. It was crowded…but a nice crowd. Our waiter was really running…but still did a great job.
Lots of nice items on the menu… definitely will go back.

  4. Wonderful french dinner. Everything was perfect, the food, the service and the atmosphere. The name relates to Lexington’s French sister city, Deauville in Normandy France.

  5. Our evening at Le Deauville was nothing short of exceptional, with outstanding service and delectable cuisine that left an indelible mark on our palates.

The service at Le Deauville deserves the highest praise. The staff greeted us warmly and guided us to our table with genuine hospitality. Throughout the evening, our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to enhance our dining experience. They effortlessly balanced professionalism with a friendly demeanor, creating an inviting atmosphere that made us feel truly valued.

My wife’s choice of Moules à la Diable, a classic French dish of mussels cooked in a spicy tomato-based sauce, was a revelation. The mussels were plump, tender, and infused with an exquisite blend of flavors. The sauce had just the right amount of heat, adding a nice kick to every bite. It was a dish that showcased the restaurant’s commitment to authentic French flavors executed to perfection.

As for my entrée, the New York Strip with fries and Green peppercorn sauce, it was a carnivorous delight. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Each bite revealed a burst of juiciness and a remarkable depth of flavor. The Green peppercorn sauce, with its rich and creamy texture, elevated the dish to new heights, adding a delightful tang that complemented the meat impeccably.

To complete our gastronomic journey, we indulged in a delectable dessert—a delicate Crème Brûlée that was perfectly caramelized on top, giving way to a velvety smooth custard beneath. It was a sweet conclusion to an evening of culinary enchantment.

Le Deauville’s dedication to providing exceptional cuisine, combined with impeccable service, sets it apart as a true gem in Lexington. Whether you’re a connoisseur of French cuisine or simply seeking an unforgettable dining experience, Le Deauville is an absolute must-visit.

Such an amazing restaurant. We were visiting Lexington for a wedding and picked this place randomly the night we got into town. I am so glad that we did. The braised short ribs and salmon were magnificent. And the creme brulee topped off a wonderful meal. Finally, our server, Dana, was so nice and accommodating.

Great off the beaten path place! Every time we’ve been its been terrific. Great service backed up with excellent food! Very good date spot. Not over the top fancy but still nice. Well priced. Will continue to go.

The Tulip Bistro & Bar was an absolute pleasure to eat at even on a packed Saturday night. Our food was amazing. The waitress was extremely positive and upbeat and on top of everything. My pork chop was ridiculously good and that may have been the best potato cake that I have ever had. I ordered dessert first and their creme brulee was out of this world, even better than I had hoped. I cannot recommend The Tulip enough.

Fantastic food! The mussels were excellently prepared and there was plenty of bread to sop up the creamy broth. I highly recommend the zucchini fries. We had a farmers market salad that was top notch! The dogs were welcomed on the patio and also enjoyed the experience!

My boyfriend and I went to dinner at The Tulip the other night. We’ve been many times and it is always a wonderful experience. Not pictured, we always start with the Sausage Crostini and keep the side of marinara it comes with to dip your bread in it! I had a salad and the mussels which were in a garlic white wine sauce that I would’ve drank from the bowl if we weren’t in public. My boyfriend had the bone-in pork chop with a Bourbon glaze over smoked gouda grits and green beans. Everything was cooked perfectly and our server was professional and experienced in fine dining. We love it here because the food is as good as any fine dining restaurant but the atmosphere is more like a neighborhood Bistro. Definitely recommend!

La Folie is located in a downtown luxury apartment building. It has a nice patio when the weather is nice. We had the French Onion soup for our starter, which was superb – very delicious. A warm mini baguette and butter was provided and was wonderful. I had the Veal Oscar and my husband had a special – a bone-in veal chop in a mushroom reduction. The veal Oscar was good but béarnaise sauce was under salted IMHO. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were excellent. My husband’s dish was truly amazing. Veal was tender and mushroom reduction was to die for. This was an expensive meal so I was disappointed with my dish. But everything else was wonderful. Service was excellent. Presentation was beautiful. I will definitely be back but select something different for my entree.

The food was decent, but underwhelming considering the prices. The service was SEVERELY lacking. The waiter had literally already boxed my leftovers when the last of our party’s main entree came out. He had a poor attitude and was expressively upset that we asked to have separate checks, even though we informed him when we were seated that checks would be separate. He said “this is very inconvenient and time consuming” as he was taking payment at the end of the meal. I ordered a bottle of wine and 4 of my friends ordered a glass each of the same wine. The waiter poured their glasses from my bottle! I thought he misunderstood and thought I had ordered a glass as well, and expected I would be charged by the glass – nope! I was charged for the full bottle. I’m kind of astounded by the entire experience. I can say with confidence that I will not dine there again.

Would not recommend. Food was awful. The only thing I could suggest is the bourbon list. Let’s get this off the Waiter John was Fantastic loved his jokes and was very kind! Odd menu for a French Restaurant The food needs a dire face-lift to be French cuisine. Beef carpaccio was not good very acidic. The Branzino was Very fishy and Dry. The fries where the only saving grace of the whole Meal! Steak and Fries (special) cooked unevenly and the beef sauce on the steak was Not needed, it Ruined the Crisp of the Steak. The patissier area needs work the French sabayon was not good its just soupy creme Brule with berries…

My wife and I with another couple went there for a Sunday brunch on March 5th 2023. We got there as soon they open so they were not busy at all. Friends and I order omelets, total 3. I was expecting a French omelette but what we received was pathetic. They all were tough, dry and brunt. See the picture. I wonder if they were frozen and they just nuked them. I have gotten much much better omelets at IHOP. This was a breakfast prepared by a short order cook and not a chef. IHOP cooks are better. My wife ordered eggs Benedict that was just ok, eggs were cooked right and sauce was good. Not only omelets were bad, potatoes were the frozen stuff and fried, that came from institutional package. Toasts were cold and terrible. I had to ask for butter and marmalade. I doubt that our server knew what marmalade is. She brought me little packages of grape and strawberry jelly thy weren’t as good as Chick-fil-A either. Cheap brand. Butter was small pats in aluminum wrapping, like Waffle House. I had expected real home made jam and quality butter from a French restaurant. Ambiance was nice and server was very polite and nice. “Upscale” prices doesn’t make a restaurant upscale. I have eaten many French restaurants around the country. None was ever this bad. It would have been a nice touch if our server could have understood simple French words as hello and thank you. I am not going there for dinner, heaven knows what that be like. I was told that they getting a French chef. This was such a disappointment. I would lone to talk to the owners.
