What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. The instructors are SO great with the kids! Honestly EVERYONE there is so friendly and helpful. My son is ADHD and takes a while to catch on but LOVES coming to class and the instructor does great at keeping the kids attention and letting the kids know it’s OK not to be great yet. DEFINITELY recommend for anyone looking for a outlet for their child!

  2. I bring started bring my 13 year old son a couple months ago and it has been the only sport/activity that has really held his interest! The instructors are amazing as are all the kids and parents who attend. We enjoyed it so much I recently started bringing my 4 year old as well. It gives them both something healthy and active to look forward to every day. I cannot rave enough about how great the staff and trainers are!

  3. The Dewitt family has built something truly special here. Whether you’re looking to become a top notch competitor, or just looking to get in shape and make friends, this gym has it all. An amazing kids program and a ton of female members are a great indicator of the healthy culture they have cultivated over the years. I can’t reccomend this place enough!

I had an amazing time in my 2 years at the gym! Classes are very reasonably priced unlike some other gyms I’ve been to, and the atmosphere is really welcoming and supportive for beginners as well as all other skill levels. The way the pricing is structured also allows you to be flexible in trying the different classes offered week to week. The coaches are good communicators and highly knowledgable in their respective disciplines whether it’s Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, etc. Coaches Jason, Chris, Asa, and Adam helped me every step of the way from being a complete beginner to doing the more advanced sparring classes. If you find yourself wanting to try out a martial art, learn a new skill, or even just get in shape, I can’t recommend this gym enough!

Art of War is a fantastic place to learn and train — The coaching staff is super friendly, the community is great, and the training is intense. Be prepared for a workout! I joined Art of War during my senior year at the University of Oregon, and my only regret is not joining earlier. They are open to all levels and are very considerate. During my time there, I took boxing with Chris and did a little bit of Jiu Jitsu with Bethany and Vanessa. They are amazing instructors and I am grateful to have learned from them. If you are interested in learning martial arts and love a great workout, don’t hesitate to reach out to Coach Jason!

Facility is nice and feels private. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Amiri, especially, was absolutely wonderful. I took private training classes with Amiri. He made me feel incredibly comfortable, was very encouraging, and ensured that I was safe/didn’t push myself until I was in pain. Thank you for the amazing time I had while at Art of War!

My father and I have had weekly training sessions with Chris San Jose at Art of War for several years and it is still the highlight of our week! His skillful sessions and positive attitude make the work-outs effective and enjoyable. He caters to our strengths and motivates us by increasing weights and reps. During my battle with breast cancer Chris modified each session to help build my mobility and strength back. This guy knows what he’s doing! I highly recommend strength training at Art of War!

Art of War is an amazing place to train! The instructors are excellent, especially Jason. He is a very principled, dedicated instructor and practitioner. He brings so much excitement into teaching and learning. I have been training Jiu Jitsu in the area for upwards of six years and find this to be the best place in town. Art of War is also filled with some incredibly talented and well-rounded individuals, it’s just great to be around. After training here for 8 months I am now in the best shape of my life as a 37-year-old mother of three and also understanding Jiu Jitsu and self-defense in an entirely new way. I would like to encourage anyone who is interested in any of the domains of MMA to come into Art of War and give it a try with an open mind and heart.

Amazing Place to go to and I love it there and I am now 15 and I have been going there for 8 years. Master Duer is the best and I love Duer’s ATA Martial Arts and Master Duer teaches you well, if you get a chance go down there and try it for yourself. There Summer Camps are amazing they play games with the kids, and they teach the kids how to use weapons. Duer’s deserves a 100 stars for being amazing.

Duer’s ATA is a great place for kids. Master Duer genuinely cares and does an amazing job of helping kids build self-esteem and discipline. We are putting our second child through his school because we believe in him and his staff.

We are so grateful to have found Duer’s ATA Martial Arts for our daughter. Prior to discovering Duer’s ATA, she had had a difficult time focusing at home and at school and playing other sports could pose a challenge given her difficulty paying attention and focusing on the task at hand. Her participation in Martial Arts has given her a level of focus and determination as well as self-confidence and leadership that were just waiting to be developed. These skills have carried over into her behavior at home and at school as well. Senior Master Duer and his team of instructors are always encouraging and focused on skill development regardless of ability level. Can’t wait to see our daughter continue to advance through their program!

Master Duer and the rest of the staff there are amazing. Three of my children go there and all of them love it and are not only learning taekwondo, but they are learning great skills and accountability. We have been using the star charts to help with behavior at home and I have never seen my sons so interested in helping with chores. I have recommended Duer Martial Arts to many families and will continue to.
