What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Chez Elle is probably my favorite restaurant in the city! You’re greeted with a light, friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Themed with Paris in mind inside and out, this little eatery has a crepe to satiate anyone with just about any mood. Personally, my favorite is the Monsieur (chorizo and potato filled crepe topped with scrambled egg and a delectable gravy), but you can’t go wrong with any savory, breakfast, or sweet option. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. It gets busy on the weekends, but the order line moves quick and food is always fresh and ready before you know it. Great for smaller gatherings of 6 or fewer on the weekends. 2-4 is ideal. Larger groups may have to split up or wait a bit to pull a few tables together

  2. Probably the best lobster bisque I have ever had. So creamy and the lobster was very tender. I had the acropolis crepe. It was pretty decent, but the crepe was over cooked and crisp, and the chicken was in large chunks. My partner had the patriot crepe. Good, but just consisted of raw fruit on the inside, with no other filling. I’d say go for the lobster bisque and you will not be disappointed!

  3. We got two savory crepes at Chez Elle; the bonjour and the monsieur. I ordered an iced coffee and added some cream. I can’t wait to come back and try some sweet flavored crepes. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

  4. We had 2 crepes and coffees. I would highly recommend the coffee they were very creamy and delicious. We had a sweet crepe and a breakfast one the sweet one was better than the breakfast one. They were both good. Definitely want to back and try more of what they have to offer.

  5. Always amazing. Great crepes and hands down THE BEST lobster bisque in the KC metro. Favorite crepes are the bonjour (scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese) and the citron (lemon curd, fresh strawberries and a strawberry glaze.) Consistently good food, fast & friendly service, and gorgeous atmosphere. LOVE IT.

I wanted to rate this place 3.5/5 The place was oddly dark and kind of gloomy which already set this weird moody scene. None the less I was pretty excited for the food. The price of the food seemed fine until I received the bowl. I ordered, Pho with steak (rare sliced beef), tripe, and Brisket. What came out was… all that except for the brisket- instead I received meatballs which was definitely not what I ordered. Also I did say no cilantro, but they ended up giving me no garnishes what so ever. Their reasoning was – the cilantro was already mixed with the rest of the garnishes (I don’t know if I should fault them for that). The amount of bean sprouts and basil was lacking and the piece of lime they gave me was practically a dried husk. I was pretty disappointing… at least the broth was flavor to it but man it didn’t fill me up and I’m a tiny person. Also take in mind that if you have a party of 6 or bigger they will automatically include in a 18% gratuity onto your check. I probably won’t come back. I hope others will have a more pleasant experience than I did.

Ive been here several times and the food is always delicious! The spring rolls are fresh and served with some of the best peanut sauce. The staff is always friendly as well. Good food for good price.

First time here, food was okay, customer service was terrible and restaurant staff were unprofessional. It was a group of seven people, server placed all waters in one side of the table and asked for us to pass them down. Server didn’t even ask if we wanted any beverage drinks. We waited for our food for 30 minutes, they brought us the vegetable plate for our pho. They wanted us to share one vegetable plate for four people who ordered pho. We asked for our individual vegetable plate, only gave us a small serving. Any other pho places give you your own vegetable plate with the pho. Server didn’t even ask if we needed refills or anything else. Definitely would not return and don’t recommend.

I ordered the grilled pork rice. I had expected pork chop but instead was served pork slices. The dish itself was just average. I enjoyed the pho broth that came with the meal though. It was hearty and savory. Also I didn’t expect it so it was a pleasant surprise. The Thai tea tasted a bit artificial. Service was cordial and friendly. Food wise, I’d give it three stars but service and clever restaurant name brought it up to four.

Environment is dark but I’m guessing it used to be a bar. You can see they have many pots of broth going in their kitchen which is pretty cool. Wings are well done. They don’t t look great but the chicken is crispy not dry. the seasoning and toppings of onion and jalapeño is reminiscent of “Asian salt & pepper calamari or shrimp”. Pho broth is on the sweeter side and the broth came out nice and hot. We asked for a small bowl Nước Béo or fatty broth and they brought some out after asking the kitchen if they had any. They had tons of people coming in for take-out. We probably won’t come back for the Pho but would for the wings and to try something else when we travel here for business.

Eccentrically decorated and beautiful. French rolls are warm, crusty and unbelievably good (just like all French bread should be). My waitress Natalie pulled the rolls right out of the oven. Wow. Their Country Pate was likely the best I’ve had since we were in Normandy FR. Pork medallions were wrapped in bacon, perfectly cooked, and very succulent. The large portion was a great surprise. The mushrooms served with the pork medallions were spectacular. I’d like to say they were marinated, but I’m totally guessing. Best to say they were sprinkled with magic spices 😉. They gave me a wonderful truffle for dessert that was on the house. Looking forward to our return visit.

Had a nice birthday dinner here, the service was spot on and staff were so attentive. Everything we ordered from the seared duck to the fresh halibut was well prepared. The goat cheese salad was my favourite dish of the night. You could taste the freshness and good cooking techniques on everything, however I thought both proteins were under seasoned, and the sautéed vegetables needed more love. This is a charming little restaurant that doesn’t feel very snooty, even though it’s very pricey. Great location.

This French kitchen doesn’t look like much from the street, but the decor is eclectic and the food is fantastique! I enjoyed the escargot (in the requisite indulgently rich garlic butter), the French onion soup, and the stuffed bacon-wrapped chicken. All was delicious. The service was attentive but not overbearing, which was wonderful. If I had to come up with a critical comment, it would be that the chairs on the patio need a little more padding. Should you find yourself craving French cuisine in KC, you won’t go wrong with Le Fou Frog.

Absolutely amazing experience. It’s a small quaint spot with great food. The entire restaurant was serenaded by one of the waiters. Felt like we were in a French bistro. The service was fantastic and food even better.

We went here for the first time with high expectations – Le Fou Frog did NOT disappoint!! The ambiance of the restaurant cannot be beat, nor can the food or service. We will be recommending Le Fou Frog to everyone and we will be back!
