What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Where do I begin! Chez Zee made the most spectacular three-tiered gluten-free dairy-free wedding cake. They created the recipe from scratch and it tasted even better than it looked, incredibly! They went completely above and beyond our expectations and delivered a cake that our guests chased around the venue and are still talking about today. Thank you for making my wedding day so sweet and for creating such a groundbreaking wedding cake! Our gluten-free and vegan friends were so excited!

  2. This food was utterly amazing! Howard was attentive and very polite and nice. You do have to book reservations since they are short staffed. There was live piano which I thought was so cute. Will come here again there are so many good desserts and entrees to try. My family and I came here for mother’s day (mom picked this place) and we went home with 3 cheesecakes. They were delicious.

  3. We were smart enough to came a few min after the opening and were invited to the table right away with our server, Kyle, greeting us shortly after. Although i came specifically for a chicken and waffle, the extensive menu was luring my attention with other appetizing offerings.
We appreciated in-house made croissants with lovely pre-mixed butter and jam.
The restaurant is very spacious as well as decorative, a house of an artist, I might say.
All our orders came in a reasonable time of being cooked to an order and were delicious.
We left with a good feeling of being welcomed and valued.

  4. Pros: Excellent food. Friendly staff. Excellent menu items. Excellent desserts.
Cons: very small parking area. Crowded. Without a Reservation expect a random wait to be seated. Pricey. Food service speed is slow. Feels outdated.

  5. Very nice restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice, lights were low, seats were cozy real nice space. They had a lovely lady playing live music the night that I went. The food was delicious! It is pricey, but you will enjoy your evening. I recommend👍🏾👍🏾

The burger is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The scallops were also perfectly cooked. Soft and creamy. The ketchup has a unique sweetness from the apple cider vinegar, and the fries are so delicious. The service was excellent. The waiter left us alone just enough that we weren’t being bothered, but was still very helpful and attentive. Chocolate tort was decadent but I didn’t hate myself after eating. Same with the burger. Clean flavor profiles and nothing was greasy.

Service was fantastic, the mushroom fritters and escargot were both winners. Cocktails were great. The only let down was the sweetbreads, they lacked flavor and the dish was just heavy with butter. It would have been better with some acid, but overall, great experience. We’ll be back

My girlfriend and I stopped in here to try out the happy hour burger that I have heard only good things about. From the start of the service was absolutely fantastic and the vibe in here was very nice. Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 Tuesday to Friday and is half off all the items on the menu marked with a star. This meant the burger was $10.50, which was a fantastic deal. The mac & cheese was also have price which brought it down to $9. The food was great, and I have absolutely no complaint. The server really was authentic and enthusiastic about the food here and you could tell he really knew his stuff. All in all everything was fantastic. The only reason I left a four-star was when we were pretty disappointed with the clear miscommunication of the worker. We asked if they do anything for birthdays, and he said absolutely, and then started to list off all the dessert items. When he brought out the bill, they charge for the item, even though he made it very clear that it was on the house. He then acted completely shocked when we questioned the item on the bill. We were full and content, but when he acted as though it was on the house we couldn’t turn it down. This was pretty disappointing, but other than this again, everything was fantastic.

Good food, excellent service. Hard to park due to downtown Austin. We parked in a pay lot a few blocks away. Prices are what you would expect for a special occasion but not something we would do on a regular basis. Our table bill for 5 was $330. Was also very loud inside and was hot on the night we went. Tables are very close due to seating capacity. It was a little hard for our group to carry on conversations without shouting down the table. We had a good dinner and I would go back. I had the orange duck and really like it. 👍🏽

I had made a reservation for the next evening with my friends and colleagues. I stopped by the night before to check the place out and it met all of my expectations. The bartender was knowledgeable, made excellent craft cocktails, and had good recommendations for what to do in Austin while in town for a conference. The next night, six of us had dinner there and the food was fantastic. The one was delicious and well priced. The bourbon selection is excellent and more than fairly priced. Their cocktails are top of the line. Consider trying one with absinthe. See the video for the classic presentation. Their Weller 12 year is very well priced.

The staff here was really spectacular. Our party was on the larger side and some of them were late. They were gracious and kind even though I knew they were shutting down soon. The food really was remarkable, and I’d recommend going. The wine list was fun, not too big, but well priced and with a good amount of selections!

Very hip, relaxed and fun little haunt reminiscent of a French bistro with West coast flare. Everyone who works there looks like a model/artist too. You’d think it’s not about the food here because of how trendy it feels but they managed to work GOOD food into the fashion forward atmosphere. We ordered oysters, escargot to start. I had probably the best and most traditional ratatouille I’ve ever tasted here. They give you fresh crusty bread as well. My cohorts meals looked fantastic- anything from bolognese to white fish on veggies. Presentation was superb. We ordered desserts as well which were on par with the presentation and taste of the meal. I started the whole adventure with a martini so delightful, I questioned if I was really in Texas still.

First time here. We went in pretty late in the evening. Seems like a happening place. Two of our dishes (appetizers) were delayed and the staff was very apologetic. They comped us a dessert. Loved the food. Great taste, presentation and amazing French food options.

Had a fantastic experience and meal at this place. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was authentic and fresh. We walked in and got a seat on the tent patio right away. It is definitely worth checking out!

Appetizers were tasty, ordered escargot, smoked salmon, and octopus. Entree wasn’t what we expected, the wine-braised beef reminded me of shepherds pie. Still edible but left me bloated for days! Ambiance was like a moulin Rouge vibe, had a hard time reading the menu cause it was dark. Service was mid, only complaint would be they wouldn’t split our bill 2 ways for a party of 4..
