What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I did not visit the play area and the cats, just went in to get a latte. The cafe is super cute, has many cute gifts for the cat lover, and serves Highwire coffee. Good stuff. I love that Cat Town exists and now that I live nearby, I will spend money there, although I already have too many pets!

  2. We came to pet sweet kitties and that’s exactly what we did. We stayed a bit in the main room and got some good play time in before moving back to the individual studios. The volunteers were so friendly and were able to tells us about each cat and whether they were okay being pet or if they wanted to be left alone. If you like petting cats, this is the place for you. Also a super cute little merch corner with some awesome shirts, pins, cat toys, and a bit more.

  3. Took my nieces here for their birthday. We went around 3:00 pm and most cats were sleeping 🙁

Definitely recommend coming before or after to have ready-to-play cats.

However, the staff was super kind and did their best to accommodate us. They even got us to see the cats that were behind an orange tag (need permission before you can interact with them).

Staff are very attentive and do their best to have you enjoy your visit. Times are pretty strict, to give the cats a little break before the next group comes in. Please be mindful and show up on time!

  4. They care about cats and make sure you have everything you need to foster a kitty. Always check in and make sure the cat is doing well and being taken care of as it should. Wonderful people, and an awesome place to bring your kitty if you find your kitty needs a new home.

  5. Unique idea of a place to interact with cats as they get geared up for adoption in a commercial setting. It’s clean and well maintained.
You can get coffee and snacks and then come interact gently with the cats in two different areas. Groups are allowed in at intervals so you have to plan ahead.
The cats are in charge here, so if they’re sleeping then you leave them alone but there’s usually a couple of them up for interacting.

I adopted my adult dog this past weekend and the people here are great. They were very straight forward about everything about my dog has and gave me a ton of advice, tips, handouts, and methods for helping him. Everyone was clearly very knowledgable and wanted the best for the animals. Less than 24 hours in, he’s already warming up to me 🙂 I originally went in to look at a senior dog, and the staff was upfront about the extensive dental work he needed, which was not something I could take on up front. I really appreciate their honesty and their efforts to put each animal in the best possible home given their needs.

Was looking to rescue a dog after loosing my most recent pup to old age. The east bay spca made it a very pleasant and painless experience. The employees were kind and treated the animals with lots of love. If you are on the fence about rescuing animals, don’t hesitate they are the most grateful, loyal, and loving companions. I had a great experience adopting from this shelter. Welcome to your forever home little guy 🥰

May 11, 2023 visit. It’s about 10 dogs. Most dogs are pitbull mix. The lobby and kennel is kept clean. They are not knowledgeable about their dogs.

Searched for the right fit for our home and found her at East Bay SPCA. We visited many shelters in The Bay and this facility and its staff are the best of the bunch.

I am so thankful for this shelter. My fiance and I had been searching numerous shelters in the bay area for our new fur baby. After weeks of scouring various shelter sites I found this shelter and our newest family addition. The adoption process thus far has been easy and pleasant and the employees we have met have been so kind and I feel like they genuinely wanted dto male sure our boy found a good home. Thank you so much!

It is always so rewarding to support FAAS with donations of towels, sheets, cash, or whatever special items are requested. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially when a wandering stray needs to be chip-checked and restored to its home and forever family. FAAS is a worthy organization doing great work on behalf of Alameda’s needy little critters.

I’ve been going to them for my pets for over 30 years. Kind, compassionate people.

This is one of the best animal shelters I’ve ever experienced. My uncle passed away and left behind 3 dogs. The shelter kept them together and was able to find them their new home. You can’t out give an organization like this! If you want to put your money to good use, donate to these good people who have a true heart for animals.

It’s the best shelter I have seen till date. The people working for the shelter are extremely sweet and understanding. They give you a chance to foster before you adopt… that’s a major plus, the animals are extremely well taken care of. Hats off to each and everyone who works for this shelter. You guys are doing just amazing work!! Special thanks to Nanou who helped us in each and every step.
