What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. First batting place we’ve been in VB. Clean facilities, small shop for gear, has camps and clinics available, lots of space, affordable. Some people brought a more comfortable camp chair since there are only bleacher style seating. If it’s busy you spend a lot of time waiting around but it’s good practice! NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS!

  2. Great facility! Clean, well organized, with a friendly, helpful staff. Everything you need, whether you are a player or coach. They have superb, professional instructors available, as well as some very cool technology!

  3. Staff is amazing and super clean facility. I would have given this place 5 stars but the heavyset curly haired brunette at the front desk was extremely rude to my son and I when we were cleaning up the balls. I get that it’s busy but if I’m finishing late because the guys before us were late there’s no need to go up to a child and a father CLEANING UP and say “HEY I NEED YOU GUYS TO WRAP IT UP RIGHT NOW” like you see us cleaning up smh…other than that… great place. Better customer service sometimes goes a long way with customers

  4. After going in with a 1st time ball player not knowing where to go or what to do, the staff treated us like we all-star players and helped us with basic instruction. They got us on our way to success.
2nd visit decided to take my daughter and son for lessons. The staff was just as accommodating with getting them lessons at the same time with neighboring cages so I could be with both kids during their separate lessons. These guys/gals will be getting our support going forward!

  5. My 7 year old had an amazing hitting lesson with Brock at DBat! Brock was very knowledgeable, took his time in assessing my son’s swing and corrected a few key issues to get his swing aggressive and timed accurately. Brock made him work hard and hustle the whole 30 minutes. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks!

A very nice baseball park for division one baseball team for old dominion University. Easy access to free parking and what is called lot 43 a short one block walk away from the ballpark. Sitting is abide average for that level of division one baseball at 2500 fans seated. There is a small standing room only area down the 1st baseline but very little additional area for larger crowds. All seating is on aluminum bench seats without chairbacks. Viewing angles are good in any of the seats. Quality of play by the home ODU monarchs is above average. A reasonable selection of food is offered at the game and from my experience is of above average quality. A good place to watch a quality division one college baseball game.

Nice ballparks. Picnic areas are wide open and warm. Fun spot to watch from. Bleachers not too comfortable.

Always so much fun for the family, we love going here, the crowd is fantastic and the team is great, always an exciting game, bring a blanket if your attending a evening game but perfect on a Sunday afternoon.

This last Saturday I attended the home opener against Norfolk state. Other than the cold weather and concession stands alone taking card this was a pretty good experience. The energy and vibe was all their. I really enjoyed my self.

I was hesitant at first to come here given some reviews. Going there with my team for winter workouts is probably one of the best decisions I’ve made as a coach. Great facility, equipment, well priced, and customer service. Highly recommend it.

My sons have been attending baseball training sessions and practices there for a year now and the staff and facility are top-notch. Matt (the owner) and his staff are fantastic with the kids (and parents), are knowledgeable, patient, and know how to balance hard work, respect, and fun. Couldn’t be happier or more impressed! Check that…we would be happier if it were closer, but we don’t mind the drive because we know what’s waiting on the other end.

I agree with the earlier review about customer service at this practice cage. We were there yesterday for our team practice and experienced similar bad experience with the shift employee..this particular employee had an audacity to start an argument with us and say to our face that we are not winning an argument with him while we tried to be as polite as we can be. Never experienced such rude and reckless behavior from a business before. We decided to let the guy win his argument and left the place and decided never to go back again. We were potentially looking for a practice place for our team long term and felt this was the place walking in. We did not feel the same way walking out. We are definitely not going back and will never recommend this place to not just friends but not even our opposition teams looking for a place. Update (5/6/2019): Thanks for your reply. As we have already tried to explain to the employee onsite on the day multiple times that there were only 5 players using the cage while rest of our group came to watch. It was clearly evident as others were wearing jeans while the playing 5 were wearing tracks which the employee on duty purposefully ignored and wanted to have an argument with us. Anyway, we gave the guy what he wanted, let him win his argument, cleaned the place for him and left. Thanks for the offer, but I don’t think we will be coming back.

We frequent Hampton Roads Sports Academy often. With each visit we receive nothing short of outstanding customer service in addition to the exceptional training. There are not many training facilities out there that offer what is offered by Matt and his staff (great atmosphere, strong knowledge in the game, consistency, top notch equipment, quality retail product for sale, etc.). My son always leaves a workout better than when he came. Thanks for challenging him up in all aspects of his game. Thanks for being the ultimate professionals. KEEP UP THE OUTSTANDING WORK HRSA!!!!

I have been here for my team practice session. I would not even give a 1 star rating to this business. I wish there was a negative rating. The customer service was just terrible and I have never experienced such a pathetic behavior of the staff towards any customers else where. The employee was complaining about his customers occupying the parking space. If customers do not park in the parking lot of the business premises then where would they park their vehicles? RUDE RUDE behavior with the customers arguing and trying to get into a battle of words never helps any business. I am never ever going back there. Updated (5/6/2019) No customer would want to return to a RUDE business. You lost some of your business from a portion of our cricketing community. I have no idea what you are referring to from the past. There were not 20 people on the day we played. Not returning to give you more business.
