What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. This is a gorgeous property. Probably the best B&B we have been to. The room was fabulous. Very comfortable king bed. We were there for the Wine and jazz night on Wed. And had a really nice time.
Amenities are wonderful, and the full breakfast is fantastic. Chef Michael goes out of his way to make things to your liking. His frittata is one of the best I’ve ever had. French toast is customized to your order.
We liked it so much, we got a gift certificate for our Nephew and new wife who will be moving to Greensboro in June. We will definitely be visiting again too. Double Oaks is everything you want from a B & B. Things are done right. Do yourself a favor and visit!

  2. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable.
Jazz on Wednesday was a super treat.
The only negative was that there was no bread for toast in the morning. Seems like communication for someone to pick up a loaf should have been easy.

  3. The old house is really great. We stayed in the Chandler Suite which is on the 3rd floor. It was a charming room with a huge double walk in shower.

Breakfast was a disappointment. They served a vegetable frittata, which was fine, but without anything else. We stayed 2 nights and were served the exact same thing the next day. We did ask for toast the 2nd day.

If you want a bed and breakfast with a big southern breakfast, i.e. eggs, bacon/sausage, biscuits, etc….this is not the place. I guess it is a little too far north for that.

We will probably stay again sometime because the house is great.

  4. This is a very charming place to stay! The staff was super friendly and very helpful! Our plans were to go out the night we we stayed there, but we decided to stay at the house for food and drinks! They had several beers and wine on tap, as well as seltzers, waters, cokes, etc. Its all self served as you’d like! Would highly recommend staying here.

  5. I loved the coffe and such. Yum. Yum yum. Come here folks you won’t regret it. It’s a stones throw away from just about everything and is in the middle of all the action. When eat the breakfast make sure to get the bowl of grits with sausage. Get seats in the backyard if the weather permits.

We loved staying at the Julian Price House! We booked directly through their site, rather than Airbnb. The hosts were attentive, helpful, and accommodating for our last minute travel changes! The home itself is beautifully designed, every detail was thought of throughout the house and garden! I would highly recommend the Julian Price House and will definitely return!

Not enough words to describe how amazing this stay was!! Me and 9 of my closest “framily” members booked the entire main house for three nights last weekend and I so wish we could have stayed another night or two. The history and architecture of this home is breathtaking, I needed a day or two to just venture around the house and grounds. The story behind this home sucks you in!! It’s how I ended up there! Michael and Eric are great and thankfully patient, as I’m sure we were not their usual guests, which is another reason we booked all the rooms! So as not to disturb others. 😉

We slept amazing, the beds were all very comfortable and my sisters were looking online for the sheets to buy at their house!! The traveler room did get a little warm when the heater was on and there’s no outlets in that bathroom, but that may be the ONLY small negatives we had and easy to work around since we had run of all the space. The baths were great, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The house was SPOTLESS and snacks and beverages were provided and plentiful. Housekeeping came by each day, cleaned, made beds (and even added extra touches like making hearts on the bed with blankets) and replenished the kitchen items.

We are planning another trip and I cannot wait, this time with less time spent out of the house and more spent in❤️ If you are debating, don’t! Especially if you’re looking for some quiet, downtime to relax. This was one of my FAVORITE vacations ever! Thanks Michael and Eric! We’ll be back! I know you can’t wait!! 🤪😬❤️

Please, please, please make time to stay at this beautiful, peaceful gem! Every possible need is met in immaculately presented surroundings. We made a chance stopover here for one night, and I’m simply ENRAGED that we had to keep moving…I could have spent a week just looking at lovely touches and details around the house. The owners have done an amazing job balancing a strong design view with the history of this gorgeous historical home. There’s a treat for your eyes everywhere you look. Michael was a gracious and lovely host; the type of person you met and feel like you’ve known forever.

I can’t say enough about this special place. We will be back and I’ve already begun bullying all my friends and family about planning a stay immediately. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we will see you again soon!

Didn’t actually go to the Julian price house watch the version of horrors and this was a house on it just one old woman had filled this 10,000 ft² home with stuff so I wanted to see where it was now and what it look like because the two guys about it seemed really really nice and I wanted them to do well and seems to me that they have I mean just one night there is to me is really really expensive but you know what I’m sad to say that I feel like my grandpa did or must have back when he used to hand me a quarter and say not spend it on my place and I used to laugh about it cuz I didn’t know what to do with the quarter now when I look at something like especially buying a home or whatever and they’re going for $350,000 I’m thinking oh my goodness how in the world can you afford that I’m in shock I am really in shock but sorry this is about the Julian price home and it’s a beautiful home and I’m sure it would be a wonderful place to stay and the two guys that bought it along with their daughters deserve every happiness!

I can’t say enough good things about the experience I had at the Julian Price House. It’s officially one of my favorite places on earth and I have been all over the world. The hospitality was perfection, every room delightfully gorgeous, and the setting sublime. I can’t wait to go back.

Jean was wonderful. This was our 1st time staying at a B and B. My wife and I were very satisfied with our 1st experience. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathrooms are clean, quite neighborhood, friendly host, we came and went when we pleased, and no one bothered us and breakfast was served at our request. Jean is a great cook. We would definitely recommend you to stay here. Thank you Jean for being so helpful and hospitable.

Loved our experience here! It’s cozy, and unique, very clean room. My husband and I went to celebrate our marriage of 5 years! The innkeeper is very kind. The room was reasonably priced. We plan to come back at some point in the future!

The Dailey Renewal Guest House was a converted detached garage. The photos shown on the website were different than the actual guest house, the couch was not the same and the privacy curtain over the bedroom area was not there. The couch was worn down and did not appear clean. The garage was only heated by a wall unit and a space heater and the guest house was very, very, very cold. The outside temperature dropped to 24 degrees that night and so I would not recommend ever staying here in the winter, if at all. The concrete floor, which we expected, was freezing also. The space was clean other than the couch but offered bare minimums (water in the refrigerator, sparse towels, no snacks). Very strange picture over the bed of an animal made out of nails. We wanted to depart early and asked if we could possibly have breakfast to go and were told that they did not offer those services.

I would highly recommend this place! Jean Dailey is a great innkeeper! She is a great host and very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and something different every day. A light organic breakfast to start your day! I am gluten intolerant and she graciously accommodated me. The room was very pleasant and very clean along with the bathroom. We had a good time meeting new people and even creating a new friendship while there. We will definitely stay here again when traveling through and reccomend it for anyone.

Room was very nice. Comfortable. Bed provided a wonderful sleep. Sheets were amazing. Breakfast was very nice. Jean is a sweet and interesting person to talk to. The only drawback was our private bathroom was out in the hallway. But, all in all, we’re glad we chose Jean’s.
