What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. The place is located in the corner in downtown Lafayette. Quaint location with a bar the back. Arrived about 830am not crowded. We had a party of 6 and got table in middle of restaurant. There was 3 servers The food was delicious with great presentation. Most eye catching🤯 was the bloody Mary with okra, bacon, string beans, olives, lemon&lime. The prices are reasonable for the food you get. You will be full and will enjoy. I’ll be back!

  2. It’s been a while since I’ve been to The French Press so I was looking forward to my old favorite, the Cajun Benedict, and it didn’t disappoint. As a rule, I prefer a dark gumbo so this hits the spot for me. This visit, however, I tried it with fried shrimp over the top. Not bad but I think I like it better without. We had a Sweet Baby Breesus for an appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised. Will need to try this again in the future. That and the Praline Bacon. All in all, a very nice visit.

  3. The food service was very slow. But that day was out of the ordinary. A cook quit and walked out on them. Needless to say it took an extra long time for our meals to arrive. BUT our server was outstanding. She was kind, apologetic and attentive. We were a large group of 11 as well. The cuisine was good that day. Some items were excellent, others were ordinary. All said and done I would definitely go back because of the staff that attended to us. I wish I remembered her name! Beautiful eyes, dark hair, young with a tattoo on her hand that was sanskrit. So if the owners read this. I hope you can figure out who she is. Because she deserves recognition.

  4. Nice place, hard to see when your driving by. Our waiter was great at his job there were 7 of us and he didn’t write anything down. I know I couldn’t do it. Food wise, the fish was 10/10, Shrimp 10/10, the fries 6/10, the burger was super bland, and the breakfast sandwich I was told 8/10 didn’t taste. All and all average. The Appetizers were the best thing on the Menu. I probably wouldn’t plan to go back, because it wouldnt even make it in my top 10 places in Lafayette but if someone was, hey you wanna go grab a bite at French Press I wouldn’t be opposed, so there far I give it a 3/5

  5. Great place for breakfast and lunch. I love the Croque-Monsieur, hamburgers and their delicious avocado and shrimp salad. It’s owners and staff do an outstanding job.

Lovely place for a get together. The atmosphere is cozy, prices are a bit high, but the food is divine. The pastries are where the best part of the cafe comes in! Its one of the few places in Lafayette that sticks to its french cuisine roots.

The atmosphere was loved, the music perfect, the tone is set to unwind and enjoy… The seating allowed for a solo or double dining as well as a round table of rummy players… Stop in 😘

Love the relaxed dining atmosphere at la madeleine. Great food and great bakery items, so you can visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack! They also have a nice side patio to eat at if the weather is nice out.

The sandwiches are great. Unfortunately the service was lacking (had to remind people about the desserts we ordered a couple times, and a drink) and the desserts were also not good. Who ruins chocolate by adding raspberry to it? Apparently they do. Cakes had too much lemon zest in it. Each dessert seemingly has something in it that absolutely ruins it. I have not tried every dessert yet, but I plan to. Also, don’t waste money on the chai latte, it’s garbage. Don’t trust French people to make an Indian drink properly. Other than that, the sandwiches are worth going back for, and an attempt to find SOME treat that isn’t horribly ruined.

Good service and good food. Went here to meet some friends over coffee and cakes after a long time. They have ample seating arrangements and they are following all Covid precautions. Their menu is elaborate and there is a lot to try. We got their double hot and cold mocha, hot chocolate, chocolate croissant and chocolate tarts. The coffee was good and so were the desserts. The hot chocolate comes with whipped Cream and that makes it taste good but it’s a lot of sweetness, at times. The mocha was nice and frothy. The servers are friendly and they make sure they answer all your queries. We had a great time.

This was another great find for my boyfriend and I while visiting. The food was well priced (you get a massive portion) and everything was so well balanced. My boyfriend got the Crème de la Crème brûlée and I got the Crepe Madame with Ham. Oh my gosh. I tried my boyfriends and it was so delicious! Not too sweet either. I loved the mushrooms and ham in mine as well as the sauce and cheese. The side salad was perfect to add a fresh relief to the heavy crepe. Overall it was amazing and under $25 for both of us to eat and enjoy something really freaking good!

First time today visited this place. It’s nice with a cute interior and a good food. The waiters are super sweet. Tables are small and very close to each other, so if you want to have more private conversations, you should pick another more quiet place.

This place is quaint and fresh! I order the eggs Florentine with Turkey. Was delicious and had the perfect amount of flavor. I also ordered a lemon crepe. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Willing to share suggestions. Good came out fairly quick. I was the only one in here at the time but the place filled up as I was about to leave. Definitely will be back with my family!

We all know that wait times are going to be longer than you’d prefer, so I’m not going to talk about the wait time here. It wasn’t any worse than anywhere that I’ve been recently and I could see that they were dealing with a lot of online/ to go orders. I was extremely happy that the restaurant was clean and the staff seemed to actually want to work. The food was AMAZING! My friends got the breakfast crepes (I wasn’t paying attention to how they customized their orders). I got the omelette and it was so light, but filling. I also really liked the berry jam that came with it. We’re planning to go back for lunch!
