We were pleasantly surprised by their on-boarding process which includes a one-on-one initial evaluation by coach Garrett. Their focus is on Karate and character which is something we value greatly. Their entire staff is aligned with this and each instructor has noticeably taken it to heart. They keep the younger kids engaged yet challenged. From day one, the instructors and Masters have been polite and respectful. They do in fact teach more than martial arts, they are truly a team who dedicate themselves to the overall development of great character in individuals. The staff will call parents to follow up kids behavior and character at home /school. Should anything need working on, the instructors will have a talk with your child and assist in improving character. I recommend this place to everyone! If your looking for realistic self defense, the instructors here are the right choice. Johnny Vasquez and his assistant instructor Aaron Trobee have helped me break my preconceived notion that I am too old to consistently train in an effective martial art. At 55 I have found a community and a family of like minded people involved in an effective system promoting a positive lifestyle both on and off the mat. Gracie Jiu Jitsu Apple Valley is a direct Gracie lineage certified Gracie Training Center (CTC) with the Gracie’s Headquarters in Torrance CA. Both of my sons, ages 18 and 12 attend regular training at Gracie Apple Valley. It’s very satisfying to see them both emerge from their experiences better humans, better prepared, empowered, and confident. They have both made great strides in these qualities due to Johnny and Aaron as their role models. This place is awesome!
Great business model and ethics. My daughter loves to attend class here. Not only does she learn self defense moves, but life lessons and wisdom about growing up. The teachers are wonderful, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Rates are very affordable and the kids always have a great time. Would highly recommend this place if your child is interested in learning a martial arts skill.
Love this gym! My daughter and I have been training there for a couple months now. She is five and in the bulletproof program I have seen a boost in confidence and respecting from her. Jiu Jitsu for me has always been a challenge because I have cerebral palsy coaching staff as well as other team members are more than willing and capable to help me figure out ways to adapt the movies that are difficult! I could go on and on about how amazing this place is!
Awesome experience. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The class was taught at a great pace and everyone was very friendly. The facility is very clean and spacious. I enjoyed the experience so much that I signed up on my first visit. I highly recommend checking this place out for anyone wanting to learn Gracie Jiu jitsu.
Was thrilled to find this gym in the area. They do a great job introducing new students by pairing them with an experienced upper belt, and all the instructors were very friendly and helpful. Great facility too, clean, with a cage for MMA and weight room.
