  1. My daughter attends Pittman’s. She absolutely loves it and calls it her happy place. Since she has been attending, her self confidence has increased as well her awareness of her actions. I highly recommend the academy for anyone who wants to learn the art and wants to learn from the best. It’s more than just a martial art, it’s a life art and worth every minute of it .   2. My daughter has been here a short while so far maybe two months. I have noticed a huge difference in her attitude and her confidence level in herself has greatly increased. The staff at Pittman’s acadamy is top notch and very respectful. I have only seen great things from everyone there. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in martial arts give Pittman’s a chance. It is not just a martial art but a life choice that is worth more than words can express.

  3. My family loves Pittman’s! My three boys are learning so much, and growing as young men. I’ve also enjoyed training. It’s been a great refresher from academy and the new skills learned have been great. We would definitely recommend Pittman’s for anyone looking for a place to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.

  4. My daughter and I have just begun attending Pittman’s and we are looking forward to each weeks new lessons. The atmosphere is catered towards family and the values that come with. The staff has gone above and beyond to answer any of our questions and to check in to let us know that they are paying attention. We have our sites on being the best we can be because of the individual approach to their teaching! I recommend anyone interested in doing martial arts to show up and take a look around. They really are a great group of people doing what they love!

  5. My Son and I have been attending classes, and training together for a few weeks now. The instructors are amazing! Not only do they explain the lesson, they identify flaws in technique, and quickly correct them. They also allow, and encourage my son and I to pair up and work together. Very refreshing to show up for class at an extremely clean dojo, and learn from a group that promotes the importance of family bonding and growth. I would highly recommend Pittman Jiu Jitsu to any parent looking to better themselves, their children, and their family as a whole.

    Base BJJ has truly changed our lives! My kiddos have been training here for the past few months and I just can’t speak any more highly of the coaches! My children have not only quickly advanced in their skill but have absolutely fallen in love with BJJ and that is because of how amazing and talented these coaches are.     When I first walked into Base, I didn’t know what to expect, especially coming from a wrestling background. That changed when I met professor Gabe and Greg. They’re very knowledgeable practitioners, and precise with their skill. I could go on about both professors and their professionalism, but what caught my eye was the students. Each and everyone of them are willing to help you get better, I now consider them as family. Base Jiu Jitsu also has a great kids program that I have now enrolled my two kids in, and they love it.

    I was first introduced to BASE when they were hosting a seminar. I was a member at another gym at the time, but attended the seminar as a guest. BASE made me feel welcome and it was clear that Gabe and Greg were really serious about supporting not only their students, but anyone interested in BJJ. It was an easy decision to transfer to BASE after that. This gym is a great place to practice – whether you’re a beginner, have never stepped foot on a mat before, or have been practicing for years. It’s also a perfect place for kids to practice; they’ll learn skills that will make them become better adults (and the adults learn skills to improve themselves, too!) I’ve come to feel like the people at BASE are more than just gym-mates; we’re all a family who supports each other in and out of the gym.

    BASE Brazilian Jiu Jitsu of Lubbock, Texas is an amazing place to train. Anyone who has trained there immediately falls in love with the place! The students are knowledgeable and always respectful. The atmosphere is light but the athletes always train hard. The goal of the gym is easy and accomplished every day…to simply be 1% better than you were before you walked in. Every gym says they’re family, BASE BJJ proves it. I was one of first members there at the gym. Although I haven’t been there in 2 years, I still maintain good friendships with many of the athletes there. Professor Gabe is one of the best around and pushes the principles of Jiu Jitsu: fundamentals, focus and execution. Things that are forgotten in so many other gyms. BASE BJJ is one of the best gyms in Texas!

    I simply cannot say enough good things about this academy. They have an amazing kids program, a badass competition community, great communication through social media, and much more. Mostly the people that train here are awesome and I love Gabe and Greg the head instructors – they run an all around great gym. Go train here people 🙂

    The BEST place to join! Family atmosphere. Great for many ways- learning a new skill, workout, competition, or just to make new friends. My family and I love this gym and most importantly the people apart of it. My kids enjoy their classes and Professor Douglas keeps it fun for all ages. He is a great teacher and mentor. Do yourself a favor and try this out. It could change your life for the better, like it did mine.

    This is by far the best gym I have ever been too! I train here with coach Douglas and he is the most kind, funny man I have ever met! He is great with kids and, he provides great discipline too. The mats are always clean and so are the floors. They have a little set of workout equipment, and stuff for games, as well as some couches to spectate the classes. Everything about this place is great! Don’t worry because if you forget your belt or your gi they have extras.

    Professor Bueno is very welcoming and supportive of new students and family. My young family members have been attending for 3 years, gaining confidence by participating in BJJ tournaments, and learning the lessons of hard work and sticking with something. They are also learning useful self defense skills, and staying in great shape. Oh, and there’s a smoothie shop on the same space, for after workouts!

    Bueno Jiu Jitsu has been an important part of my life for a while now. I joined because I wanted to improve my physical health. I stay because I never imagined how much it would also improve my mental health.     Professor Bueno is very welcoming and knowledgeable. My children also love the kids classes here which he teaches himself. I have trained several different places around the state and this place has as good of instructors, facility, and team members as anywhere I have been. It also has a very welcoming group of people. Stop in and I don’t think you will be disappointed.
