  1. “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”.

    Professor Marcus definitely has the heart for this. He’s passionate about it on a personal level, decades of training and world championships, and he’s passionate about it on a coaching level. You can tell he’s invested in his student’s growth on and off the mats. It’s also amazing to see his wife Victoria so decided as well. She runs a lot of the administrative stuff, takes care of their 1 year old, and got her self back into competition shape already!

    With all that as a base there’s a great team and atmosphere here at this gym. I personally just started with very limited experience fighting on the ground. I love how there’s a beginners and fundamental class so we can learn the basics. There’s also the advance class with a lot of different high level athletes. The best part is they’re very approachable and are open to helping you out. I’m glad I joined. If it was just another workout group I would have stop going along time ago.

  2. I have been a part of Jiu Jitsu pretty much my entire life, and I have been to many gyms, but Marcus Antelante’s gym offers something that most gyms in the dfw area do not offer. Great Training Partners. My skill level has dramatically increased since I have been a member of Marcus’s gym, where I have already won multiple titles in different tournaments around the country. I could not have gotten where I am now without the help of Marcus and my teammates. The training that is offered here is superior to most gyms around the area.

    I always recommend this gym to anyone who loves jiu jitsu and wants to improve their skill level as well as meet some amazing training partners along the way.

Whether you’re just trying to get into shape, looking for a new hobby, or a life-long athlete looking for a challenge, MA BJJ has it all for you. Both Marcus and his wife, Victoria (also a Black Belt) are world-class martial artists that focus on having fun, working hard, and maintaining a family atmosphere.   4. Where do I start…MABJJ has been hands down one of the best decisions, I have decided to be a part of. Matter of fact my 3 kids, wife, and I joined and we are very glad we did. Professor Marcus instruction is like no other, the techniques and lessons he teaches is truly an art. I recommend MABJJ to the fullest, I would give it 10 stars if I could.

  5. This is one of the best schools I’ve had the privilege to train at. Marcus is a kind and giving professor. He is a structured professor that always pushes us to heights we thought we couldn’t go. While still having a very kind and encouraging approach. It shows in the way his students interact with and support others. I’ve never felt more accepted in the jiu jitsu community. A blessing for sure!

    WORST experience I’ve had with any item that I have purchased online. I placed my order for a uniform in early January 2022 and received it on 07 MARCH 2022. I reached out multiple times by phone calls and emails. NEVER received a call back or responce to my emails. This is how I received my item, see pictures attached….🤬🤬 the shipping package was to small for the item and it was busted open. It was held together with a rubber band..🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Let’s just say, I will NOT be recommending this shop to any of my family or friends. You can only blame COVID for so much…..in my opinion there is no excuse for HORRIBLE customer service. I’m keeping the item I unfortunately purchased from this company….ONLY because I don’t want to go through another 2 months plus of waiting for my reimbursement.

    I understand and experienced the same frustrations expressed in these reviews. HOWEVER….as of Monday December 19th I made a trip over there personally and they are under NEW ownership. The new owners are enthused and have a passion for the business. I bought about $300 of items for our school and will definitely be going back. Great store.

    I took my son to The Black Belt Shop today, and had a FANTASTIC experience. He helped get my son sized up to buy his first karate uniform 🥋, and helped me get the correct size white belt for a Gi I ordered from Amazon a few years back. The owner is very knowledgeable & passionate about his business and the martial arts, and showed us everything we would need equipment wise as my son as we progress, and he even let him hold a black belt and encouraged him in his journey. The business is family owned and operated, we will DEFINITELY be using them for future karate purchases. If you practice Martial Arts in North Texas, this store is for you!

    Best training in DFW! This place has become my new home. Everyone is very welcoming and encouraging. A great learning environment for all levels, men AND WOMEN. As someone who used to train, it was hard to find the right place to start again but from day one they had detailed training and showed their true professionalism. The gym is also clean and organized. Joao and Gabbi have created something much more than just a gym, they created a sanctuary.

    Joao Gabriel Rocha is the best! Just started going here with my son and we are addicted. It’s such a great workout and I feel stronger after only a month! The instructor is a 5 time world champion and really knows how to treat the white belts that come in. I can easily say this is the best Jujitsu in the DFW area.

    I love this gym, the coach and the students. João is a master of his craft, and he’s just as good a teacher as he is a competitor himself. When my husband and I moved to the DFW area, we tried several gyms before Alliance and none were the right fit. I’m so grateful to Alliance for being that great fit, and for being great to us.
