What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I interviewed for acceptance into Sarkine’s Total Warrior a few months ago and it’s been one of the best investments in my life. They start off with an interview process as they’ve stated don’t want to allow rude or overly rough people into the gym, which I highly respect since I wouldn’t want to work with cruel people while training to fight either. Ray and James, the instructors, really work with you and help you build discipline, muscle, and power all while helping you become the best person you can be.
They practice thoughtfulness, team building, and technique. I’m in the best shape of my life and I feel like my fellow warriors are my friends. Going to training is a highlight of my week and I always look forward to learning more from Ray and James. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience. I seriously trust them with my life and feel like I’m safe training with them and everyone else in the gym too.

  2. I have been attending IMAC for about 5 months now and my experience has been nothing short of amazing. What I appreciate the most is that they prioritize the safety of club members. High quality instruction from coaches that are invested in helping you improve. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

  3. I am so happy that after driving past this place a million times, I decided to call. Ray and James are so patient with me and helpful. I get a great workout that I wouldn’t do otherwise. I was nervous that I would feel like the odd one out, but the other people in the class are really nice and you feel like you fit in quick. I love it. Worth every penny.

  4. This is a place you have to come visit for yourself, don’t let all the reviews confuse your decision making. I joined this club and I’ve enjoyed my experience so far. But you have to ask yourself : Do you really want to learn how to fight? Cause you gonna learn some stuff. Can you afford it and is it worth the investment? For me it was. Checked off a lot of boxes. I looked at a lot of schools across Indy. This one fit me best for my lifestyle and what I wanted to learn.
To some it up come here check it out see if it’s a good fit for you and if you are a good fit for them.
You are getting your money’s worth no matter what amount you pay, because these skills will last the rest of ur life.

  5. I stumbled upon this place a little over three years ago. I was very out of shape and depressed, looking for a way out. I can honestly say that joining Indianapolis Martial Arts Club solved all my problems. Instructors Ray and James not only get students in the best shape of their life, but they also embed respect, discipline, and confidence in students. Students also meet so many different people with completely different backgrounds. I personally feel like Indianapolis Martial Arts Club has given me a family outside of my family, and for that, I am very thankful. What I was worried about most when I first started was that I would be thrown in with someone way more experienced than myself and I would end up hurt. This is not the case at all for any new student. Every new student starts in a beginner class. When Ray and James see that a student is ready to move on to the next class than they will make that arrangement. With Ray and James having over fifty years of experience under their belts, students feel safe and satisfied after every class. If you are ready to change your life for the better, go to their website or call them to schedule a free introduction.

Our family loves this place. They run their business very efficiently and are great with all ages. We have a four year old who has really done well and a seven year old who really enjoys improving his skills. Master David is very kind and patient and is full of positivity that he spreads to the kids every chance he can. Master An is an amazing teacher and does great with our four year old. It’s been a great experience and we will keep coming back. Thank you!

I cannot say enough great things about Choi Master Arts Academy. My daughter and her friends have been practicing taekwondo here for several months now, and the experience has been truly amazing. The instructors go above and beyond to make sure that each student receives personalized attention and guidance. The facility itself is top-notch, with state-of-the-art equipment and plenty of space for students to practice and learn. And the atmosphere is always positive and welcoming, with a strong sense of community and camaraderie among all the students and staff. I highly recommend this martial arts academy to anyone looking for a top-notch training experience. Five stars!

Instructors are amazing and so patient. My 7 year old LOVES this place. It’s a family owned company so who you start with with be the same people your child will continue to learn with. I will be starting my youngest son as soon as he turns 4. I highly recommend 100/10

Choi Martial Arts Academy is absolutely excellent. The instructors are empathic and focused. The care used in both challenging their students while positively reinforcing growth is impressive. It is obvious that the training model incorporates both high level skill development and opportunities to learn life lessons such as frustration tolerance, compassion, patience, focus, and respect. Instructors are extremely well educated in not only the intricacies of Taekwondo but also in child development and the art of teaching all ages. Our family is honored to train with this academy.

I cannot say enough great things about Choi Martial Arts! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Master Choi, Master An, and Mister Choi (the instructors) are knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to helping each student (whether child, teen, or adult) reach their full potential. They have a great balance of challenging everybody to improve while also ensuring fun and enjoyment. The facilities are clean and well-maintained with plenty of space to train. My child (now 6) started when he was 5, and I’ve seen so much growth and improvement in him (and he’s quite timid and shy, so this was pretty amazing). They also have after school care and school break programs; my son attended the spring camp and will return for the summer camp because he had such a great time. I would highly recommend Choi Martial Arts for anyone looking to start their martial arts journey, for anyone looking to continue their martial arts journey, or for anyone who just wants to enjoy the art of tae kwon do.

Our family knew we wanted to be a part of IBJJA before we even stepped foot in the school. We did an extensive amount of research as we were looking for a very specific school. Honestly, we were looking for the best in Indy. And what we found at IBJJA exceeded all expectations — facility, coaches, curriculum, cleanliness…all of it. We signed up before my husband even finished his first class. They treat their students and families with respect and kindness — making them know they matter…and are not simply another dollar sign each month. Trust me, in this industry, there are many schools that do just that. Our son has also been accepted with open arms and has watched classes since he was a couple months old and now even gets some training in (age 4). Everyone knows him by name and truly treats him as one of their own. If he’s not there, they always ask where he’s at and when he’ll be back. Like I said, everyone matters here. I could not ask for a better BJJ school for my son to grow up in — and the fact he gets to learn at the same school as his father is icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a top notch BJJ school, you’ve found it in Indiana Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and all their coaches/staff. Professor James Clingerman is truly one of the best instructors I’ve ever seen in the industry. 10/10 will ALWAYS recommend.

IBJJA is a phenomenal academy. The mat space is massive which is nice when there is a full house because there is plenty of space to roll. The instruction is top notch and the coaches are extremely well versed. There are multiple class times so you can find a class that meets your schedule. There is a great group of core people at this facility and it is truly a space where you can learn and grow. It is a very welcoming environment. I have trained there for over 2 yrs now and it has been life changing for me. I love this group of people and would be lost without them. If you need a place to train full time or when you are just passing through this is the place you will want to be.

This is an excellent gym. All of the coaches are very skilled and knowledgeable. Whether it’s kids classes or adult classes the first priority is always safety of the students. James and the rest of the coaches have fostered a culture in the gym that makes everybody very inviting and excited to teach you new things. I’d recommend this gym to anybody interested in learning bjj. Whether you are just looking for a new hobby or you are a serious competitor you’ll find what you’re looking for at IBJJA.

I’ve been learning bjj, kickboxing, and mma from James and his friends/ coaches since my 30 day trial in 2007. It’s the best instruction and attention to detail you can get for your money from coast to coast. He’s done it all and has the video, medals/trophies, and stories to prove it! Give the 30 day trial a go and see where it can take you!

Moved back to Indiana after being stationed in Hawaii for three years. Coming back I knew I wanted to join a gym right away and I couldn’t be happier. The atmosphere, coaching, and overall experience is second to none and welcoming to all!
