What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Not bad. Food was pretty good. Wasn’t busy at all but we went during eateries down time between 2 and 4. Staff did a good job and was on it. Place looked clean.
Only thing mentioned was French onion soup I think it was they said was spiced up and one mentioned the onions weren’t caramelized. Legit issues if the bill is gonna be over $160. Debatable whether the meal was worth that. Else wise pretty solid.

  2. Food was alright, the prices were very steep but the koby burger and curry soup were pretty good. Stir fry was alright besides the peas could’ve been cooked more. They didn’t have fries and the coleslaw wasn’t that great. The coffee is okay. Overall I would probably only come for soup. Service was great though.

  3. We got the new York strip and the venison meatloaf. The steak was cooked to perfection, I enjoyed every bite. The venison was amazing and unique flavors. The prices were great too! 2 large meals, glass of wine and 2 cups of soup for $65.

  4. We had a lovely birthday dinner with the family, and enjoyed a wide variety of meal and drink options. There were too many great dessert options to choose from, so we took a bunch home. Great service too! Also loved looking at all the art for sale on the walls. Very interesting!

  5. This place rocks. We’ve been looking for a local restaurant with good vibes and decent prices and this works wonders. $6 for a bowl of soup & $9 for a 2-egg breakfast. $6 for a creme brulee. Everything is made in-house with love and you can tell. We are definitely gonna come back!!

Our family went out to Capital Prime last night to celebrate my wife obtaining her masters degree. We all had such wonderful meals-! We had excellent service and such a great time. The quality of food is 5 star and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves food. This is our go-to establishment when we look to celebrate life!!

My wife and I shared a wonderful anniversary dinner here. The service was attentive without being over bearing, the wait staff and back-of-house were flexible and accommodating with dietary requests! Love how special the made the night for us. I will be back. Ohhh. The food was delicious, steak was perfect. The appetizers were just as good- I highly recommend the steak and mushroom bites and the scallops Rockefeller. We almost at just appetizers because they were that good. Come hungry and leave happy.

Took the wife out for a special dinner, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was awesome. The food presentation was on point but the taste was a bit disappointing considering the price. We recommend the crab cakes they were delicious, the steaks were meh. I ordered the ribeye med, came out med rare with one side burnt giving the steak a burnt taste. The wife got the New York strip med well but came out med rare, she thought it was good but a bit under cooked for her taste. Overall 4 star, food wasn’t over the top just standard but service was great.

Food was all absolutely delicious and my steak was cooked perfectly to order (medium) Ambiance is stunning, chic, and intimate. The presentation of the food was great-My only complaint would be for how much everything costed I expected just a little bit more quality in the taste/flavoring of our dishes.

Definitely one of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve had in a long time. Service was extremely friendly and to the point, atmosphere was semi-formal and down to earth. And the steak was absolutely delicious. I ordered a 14 oz ribeye medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Had the capital shrimp as an appetizer and it was a tasty combination of sweet and spicy to start the dinner.

I visited this past Sunday for the first time because I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt despite all of the negative reviews! This by far was the worst dining experience that we’ve had here in Lansing Michigan. First off we were almost forced to wait an hour even though we had a reservation, then after we were seated it still took about an hour to receive our food. We both ordered the “Cajun Omelette” and those turned out to be just hard fried eggs filled with burnt andouille sausage topped with salsa! The side of grits were hard and cold, and the shrimp and grits that my husband ordered for $20.00 were not good at all. When I tell you that every piece of sausage in my omelette was burnt, it was a disgrace and the waitress removed that order from the bill. We still ended up paying over $50.00 for the meal. I also ordered coffee that came in a full pot and the taste was quite bitter for coffee. My husband offered me his shrimp and grits that I ended up throwing in the trash. The overall experience was horrible and from here on out I will listen to the reviews! I wanted it to be great but it wasn’t… Sorry not Sorry

Parking can be hard to get right out front but there’s a public parking lot less than a block away that is free after 6 pm! There is a very nice patio area to sit in as well. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. She checked back often and our cups were filled constantly! Service was good. I ordered a side of red beans and rice and it was awful. The rice is seasoned well but the rice wasn’t cooked it was hard! I mean literally not cooked. The waitress said that’s how they make it there😳 it could break your teeth it’s so hard. The cornbread is equally as awful. It’s so dry, hard and it was nearly served cold. I would not recommend it. The French fries are very well season and tasty. The brioche bun was very good on my burger. The classic burger was nothing special but tasted okay. The Beignets were okay! Those are not the real ones but they will do. Overall I would not come back. Not worth spending any money on anything here.

Absolutely delicious! Started with the Cornbread Basket with honey butter, shrimp étouffée(added andouille sausage), and then our server Kayla(who was also the bartender) made me a “Trust Me” cocktail. I told her what I usually drank and she made one up on the fly. She nailed it! So good I ordered 2 of them and they were only $10 each. What a gem here in the Old Town section of Lansing. I feel like this is New Orleans in Michigan. YUM!

Brunch on Sunday.. Breakfast Omelettes were good, but shrimp etoufee was watery and shrimp not well cleaned–no gravy at all. Cornbread served cold and dry.

Good food overall, but overpriced. When asked about substituting fries for other sides we were given options and chose from those. When the bill came it showed the normal cost of the sides were added on as an additional item. No problem (they were worth the extra cost), just something to be aware of. The decor is fun and cozy. Service was ok. Not bad, but nothing super great. The sandwich I ordered came out fried instead of grilled, so after the server took it back to correct that someone came out to ask if I’d like a small salad while I waited, which was nice. The waitress took my plate after I had said I was still working on it (there was quite a bit of chicken left). I didn’t say anything to her about it, but had just previously declined when she had offered to take the plate. We did feel a bit rushed at the end. In summary, it was worth trying and I’d go back if someone else with me chose it, but it probably won’t be somewhere that I, myself, suggest when choosing dinner. **There is a fee to pay with a card, so take cash if you are able!
