What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Classic diner with old school vibe. Food is decent, but the portion is huge. Service could be better. Plenty of parking in the lot outside. Military discount only applies to the actual service member or vet, not the whole party.

  2. I’m really going to miss this place. Lived in the AV my whole life and am on my way to Florida soon. Even if you’re just passing by, is new to the area, or haven’t been here in a long time; please come here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This place is an institution to the Antelope Valley, it’s basically a piece of regional history that you can eat a meal at. Portion sizes are HUGE, you’ll never leave hungry and you’re better off limiting yourself to half the meal and saving the other half to eat later. Although I would recommend dining on the weekdays for breakfast, I’ll admit it’s not always the best service when they’re serving a full house, but I can always let that slide from here.

Best of luck to you in the future, Crazy Otto’s.

  3. NEVER coming back would not recommend smells like cigarettes it’s disgusting. food was outrages and expensive 15 dollars for an egg and ham sandwich!!The bread was hard as a rock, you’ve gotta be kidding. it was so salty too and let me tell you I don’t complain about things being hard & salty ever. waitress wants you out of there will bring your bill before your done eating how rude can you be!

  4. The photos can not do a justice on how massive and incredible the plate of food is here! The portions of everything on the menu are catastrophic! Perfect for heavy eaters or if you want to share. Ingredients are substantially fresh and delicious! I am but a mere mortal who has never tasted such godly nectar! They also kept the cup of coffee full! The military tribute decor is a nice patriotic touch! EATING HERE IS A MUST!!!

  5. After many years of supporting this place, I can no longer recommend anyone eat here. The food I picked up today wasn’t fit for human consumption. The broccoli had mold on the stalks. These are steamed vegetables not char pan or grilled. All 3 salads were brownish slimey old lettuce. Using expired produce? Glad we requested dressing on the side so we could see it.
The mashed potatoes were dry, bland & seemed old.. not from today (possibly not even yesterday’s). The fried chicken was terribly dry & salty. Besides that it didn’t taste fresh & the cooking oil needs to be changed out too. I don’t like wasting food but it went in the trash. 1 of the 3 meals was a replacement for issues related to a previous order but I paid for 2.
The manager was kind enough to extend a replacement meal last time but unfortunately the food quality’s subpar now. Tried to give it another shot but couldn’t stomach the food. It was our favorite plate on the menu before.
This place is on its last leg? Its unfortunate. Good luck.

First time eating at this Homestyle chain with pies. I got the meatloaf sandwich on sourdough, fries , salad, potato soup, and a slice of pecan. The items was wholesome and filling. The staff was gracious and attentive. Really enjoyed my visit.

Service was great! Food was very, very bland ,and distasteful; Almost as though it was a dietary option. We totally wasted out money. Adding a photo to show all I can stand to eat.

Had the worst Strawberry pie (my favorite) it was watery, strawberries mushy, and crust was mush. Happy Mothers Day to me. Ultimate waste of $24.18 in the trash. The manager I spoke to did not offer a voucher with proof (picture) he asked me to bring the mushy pie @ almost 8:00 at night to exchange it. Not good customer service being I own a business. You tell me, would you be upset?

This is a tough one. We ate Thanksgiving dinner here. The turkey and potatoes were great, but the other items were pretty bland and flavorless. We then ordered a piece of apple pie, but the waitress brought us peach pie. However, we loved it! It was so good, we stopped and bought two different pies as we left. Unfortunately, after we arrived home, we realized the pies were not nearly as good as what was served in the restaurant. I have loved Marie Calendar’s pies for years, including last year, but not this time…

THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF THE BEST PLACES I HAVE EATEN AT! The food is beyond incredible, it tasted beyond good, good selection of drinks, some of the kindest staff I have ever met. And if you see a girl with very distinct makeup she is so nice. She was on top of everything, and knew about all the food. The place is clean and beautiful. And even after they closed and we were still eating they didn’t kick us out. Definitely recommend!

Good food! The salmon was delicious, flakey, and seasoned perfectly. The Blackberry ginger ale was tart, sweet and refreshing. The Steakhouse Bacon Cheeseburgers are the best burgers around. Friendly service. Nice, casual atmosphere.

Not the juiciest ribeye I’ve ever had, but still really good. The mushrooms and garlic butter are a must! We got the potato skins for an appetizer, and they were nice and cheesy. Also had the loaded baked potato soup and that was probably the best thing I tried. The waitress was really nice, but service was pretty slow and the restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday night. Definitely try them out!

The food was really good. Our server made sure our steaks were cooked just how we liked them. She was super attentive and so were the other waiters.

Always a good time service is good and the food is good. It’s on the expensive side so just be aware. They have gluten free options. The ribs and artichoke dip are so good!😍

We come here on special occasions, always a great experience, it starts from the people welcoming us at the front door. Waiters have always been very helpful and patient with us. Food is delicious and today they had live music which was a treat. We really recomend the potato skins for starters, there a must! Is great everytime we come!
