  1. What a great spot to hang out in downtown Glendale. The German beer selection is great and they are huge, I’m talking Andre the Giant sized beers! Sorry I didn’t get any pics of the food ( my phone died ). But let me tell you it is amazing as well. We sat on the patio ( which IS Dog friendly, huge plus!) and tried the Giant pretzel with cheese and mustard, the potato pancakes and the sauerkraut balls. They are all delicious and very large portions. You definitely get the feel that you are at a place that cares about bringing you a great meal, and a better experience. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. After the enormous beers and apps we called it a night but we will definitely be back to try more of the authentic German food and I will make sure to get some pics next time. Definitely give this spot a try if you haven’t yet.

  2. I love the homey feel this place has. I went with a party of four & we split two of the entrees & two of the appetizers. There was plenty of food to go around. The chicken parmesan was super juicy & good. The appetizers were also very delicious. I will definitely be back to enjoy more food!

  3. The restaurant atmosphere inside was very neat, and quiet… The food was amazing. The waiter who served us was very good yet very humorous. My wife and I had a wonderful time, and would come back again.

  4. This place was awesome!! Our original braut entree was the perfect portions to share. The sauerkraut was amazing and the side of red cabbage tied everything together! The beer cheese spread with the pretzel was “…some of the best I’ve ever had” — highly recommend! Passing through and if back again, we’d be back for sure to try other dishes. Enjoy!

  5. Nothing against the other fine German restaurants in the area, but Haus Murphy’s is our new favorite. The variety of Schnitzels were delicious, each with its own sauce, each with that awesome crusty exterior. Their red cabbage is excellent, and what sealed the deal was their homemade Apple Strudel. I don’t care how full you feel after dinner, do yourself a favor and order the Strudel!

    Haven’t been to Mimi’s in ages.. Wanted to see if it was still as good as I remembered. Ordered the breakfast tacos, cinnamon bun, and Mac N’ Cheese.. Breakfast tacos were good and the cinnamon bun was tasty. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the shredded chicken that was on the Mac n’ Cheese. Tasted weird and wasn’t that good. Everything else was great. Will definitely be back. Service was really good too. Our server was really nice 👍

    My 1st time at Mimi’s❗I just went there to get one of they’re famous BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE muffins. It’s made with sweet vanilla batter baked with blueberries and topped with blueberry crumble. To not to go as usual with a cup of coffee ☕️, I choose a glass of MIMI-MOSA. A champagne split and orange 🍊 juice with a tangerine burst. Very Yummy 😋 Nice and clean Ambience with very friendly waiters❗

    I have not been to this restaurant in more than 10yrs. I was so good now. Today it was yummy good. the waitress was friendly and polite. The muffins were warm and mouth watering. My main course was just as delicious.

    This was my 3rd time to this restaurant. Two times were during a holiday special dinner, Thanksgiving a few years back and this time Easter. The food, it just seems bland and overcooked. The green beans even with a sauce over them had no flavor. The mashed potatoes no gravy or flavor. The stuffing was moist, but again no flavor. The ham, it had flavor but was salty, but salty is usually norm for ham, however it was definitely overcooked/dry. If the ham didn’t have the orange glaze it would of been awful. The French onion soup, maybe I’m used to other places, but it was not good here, seemed like gravy with lots of onions. I’m sorry, I tried your restaurant 3 times over maybe 6-8 years and each time a bust with the food quality.

    Mimi’s Cafe was great. I got the Buttermilk Griddlecakes as part of the “Le Grand Style Dishes”, scrambled eggs with cheese, and chicken sausage links; first time I’ve seen pancakes referred to like this. Perhaps something to do with the way they are made, pan – pancakes and griddle – griddlecakes? Anyways, the griddlecakes were super fluffy and the eggs super nice and flavorful. Service was super attentive and gave me a refill on my strawberry lemonade as soon as I finished my first one. Lots of parking as the diner is on the corner lot of the strip mall parking lot.

    Great little breakfast spot. Friendly service and delicious food. The portions were good sized and the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. The coffee was a little weak, but not bitter. The biscuits and gravy was amazing. The biscuits were homemade and so moist and buttery. The gravy was thick, creamy and full of flavor. The corn beef hash was delicious! They fried it with bell peppers and onions. They also give you a basket of tiny delicious muffins!

    Amazing food. The waitress was very kind to us while we were there the entire time. She even brought us chocolate for staying there! The muffins they provide for free are exceptional. The food in general is just off the charts delicious. Recommend going for breakfast! Atmosphere is very relaxing.

    I have been coming to Kiss the Cook for over 25 yrs. This downtown Glendale establishment is like you are stepping into the past. The place is decorated with vintage items & the food is served on mismatched China dishes. The food’s quality is top notch. They have been featured on Diner’s Drive it’s & Dives. Be willing to wait especially on the weekends there is always a wait list. Don’t get discouraged it will be worth the wait. All the staff treat you like family. It is apparent when you see all the customers that they know by name. My go to menu item for breakfast is the Jalapeño Popper Egg Benedict . This is a new addition to the menu. Also you can never go wrong with the Pecan Cinnamon Roll. After your belly is satisfied and your falling asleep from food coma the check is delivered with Hersey kisses . ( Super cute it plays of the name.) I highly recommend to anyone to visit this restaurant and see what all the hype is about.

    Wish I could give a 4.5. That being said, great food, great atmosphere and great service from Chris! Really good corned beef hash. I love the peppers and onions in it. Cooked crispy on the outside. Good potatoes. Eggs perfect. The gravy was good, but the biscuits were to die for! I would say the best biscuits I have eaten! Nice appetizer with the mini muffins! And you get a “Kiss” when you are done!
