What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. My mother was a resident at Atria Forest Hills for close to four years, during which time she received wonderful care and was able to thoroughly enjoy her time there. All of Atria’s staff are caring, compassionate, kind and loving people who go above and beyond to make the Atria experience a positive one. Even during the Covid quarantine they did their best to “entertain ” the residents while always keeping their families up to date. Under the direction of Jill Dragotta, the entire staff of Atria showed their love of the job by their total commitment to the residents. Atria Forest Hills is clearly a place I would recommend to anyone who would like peace of mind when moving a loved one into an assisted living facility. My sincerest thanks goes out to the entire Atria family for the love and kindness shown not only to my mom but to me as well.

  2. My mom has been at Atria Forest Hills for almost 2 years. She is very happy, so we are very happy. I have only positive things to say for everything at the Atria. This is a great place and we can be assured that the staff does the best they can on every level. For anyone who needs a beautiful place for a family member, this would be it.

  3. In one word.. Atria Forest Hills is WONDERFUL.
A little more than a year ago my sister and I had a rough decision to make regarding what to do with our 88 year old mother. She was no longer able to live alone so it became a choice of 24 hour attendants in her home or assisted living. We chose assisted living because we felt that it was very important for her to have the socialization of organized activities, common meals and company whenever she chose. We are SO GLAD that we chose Atria Forest Hills.
Right from the start the director and staff did everything in their power to make the transition for my mother (and for us) as easy as possible. The apartments and public areas are lovely.. very clean and bright and well maintained. There are 3 beautiful patios for the residents to sit in the shade or sun to enjoy the outdoors. The meals are plentiful and varied as well as the very important social aspect of eating with others who become your friends. There are a load of activities and the residents are given a new plan for the day every morning.. almost like a cruise.
The nicest thing about Atria Forest Hills is that they really operate as a family. You genuinely feel that all of the staff truly cares about the residents. They know if a resident doesn’t come down for a meal or isn’t at their usual activity and they check on them. If their phone or TV doesn’t work, help is just a phone call away. Somebody quickly comes to solve their problem. Their patience and kindness truly warms the heart. There is a nurse there as well as a doctor that comes once a week which makes it so much easier for us to manage my mother’s medical care from afar.
When the COVID hit New York City like a terrible storm, Atria Forest Hills went over and above the state guidelines for keeping their residents safe. The director also kept the families informed with weekly emails updating the situation and what protocols were being followed, modified or added.
In addition to keeping the residents physically healthy the staff also truly bent over backward to keep them emotionally healthy as well, by keeping them connected to their families. I video chat with my mother a few times a week. We have had “window” visits numerous times and it really makes a positive difference in her well being. The activities staff is always ready and willing to set both of those connections up with a smile, as well as anything else allowed by state guidelines. This keeps family members, who are not allowed in person visits currently, connected to their loved one.
Any concern or question is always quickly addressed with kindness and a genuine desire to help. They truly care.
I am at the age where many of my friends have elderly parents and when the subject comes up I always say that Assisted Living is a wonderful choice and always recommend Atria Forest Hills. It’s a rough decision when you become in charge of the care of a parent who used to take care of you.. but we truly feel that Atria Forest Hills was the right choice and we are grateful every day to them for taking such good care of our mother. She is in a safe, supportive, kind, caring, organized and happy place. Thank you so much Atria Forest Hills.. you have gone above and beyond.

  4. My grandmother lived at the Atria for several years, and having visited her many times it was clear that they really took very good care of her. The staff was great, the room was really nice and clean, the food was good, and there was entertainment and exercise classes on a pretty regular basis. My grandmother had a lot of nice things to say about Joy (one of the directors there) and the other people who she interacted with. I remember her telling me how the staff was very kind and would go out and get her her favorite snacks. I always felt at ease knowing someone I loved very much was well taken care of.

  5. I’ve been living at Atria Forest Hills for almost six year, and it’s been a fantastic journey. The staff is so attentive, welcoming, and always willing to assist. They set the highest standards of care, support, and leadership. Extraordinary service and attention, delicious meals, entertainment, and activities create a great environment where I feel at ease and at home. I am pleased that I did not wait too long to enjoy this time of my life in such a beautiful environment and dedicated staff.

Jocelyn Wong went way above and beyond in transitioning my family into Atria Kew Gardens and was there every step of the way. She met me at work when I couldn’t make it, she made sure everything was in order. Jocelyn was kind, loving and treated us like family. Choosing Atria Kew Gardens was the best thing I did. My family member is so happy at Atria. Jocelyn is heaven sent!!!

Just moved my mom into memory care after caring for her the past few years. It was a difficult decision but she needed 24 hr care and it was just becoming to much for us to handle. I have to say everyone has been wonderful so far and she is adjusting extremely well to my surprise, I am very grateful to the staff for the care and support that she is receiving. Thank you 🙏🙏

I cannot say enough good things about this place. My husband and I have been trying to figure how to best help my father in law (husband’s dad) the last year. He has had some health issues and just needs day to day help with things. We live in the Hudson Valley, two hours away from him, and both work full time making it all the more difficult. After a day of researching, I found Atria Kew Gardens and with it’s stellar reviews, we knew we had to take a tour and explore it. My husband and his father met with Eric Myers and he all but rolled out the red carpet for my father in law. A notoriously difficult man (lol), my father in law really took to Eric which absolutely aided in easing his (understandable) worry about leaving his home to move into assisted living. He has been there for almost 2 months now and he absolutely loves it. Both the facility and staff have exceeded expectations. We were worried our dad would miss home but he has made friends (Eric has also become his buddy), has fun in the activities and LOVES the food. My husband can attest that the food is top notch after having lunch with his dad :). I want to cry thinking about how difficult the last year has been for our family and seeing how fulfilled and happy our dad is now. Thank you Eric, Gale and the Atria staff for making our dad young again!

My brother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I researched local facilities and was told and read lots of good things about Atria Kew Gardens and decided “this is the place.” What a good choice I made. The staff is all to friendly and more importantly my brother fitted right on in. I can’t thank you enough!

We had a tough journey trying to figure out where to move our beloved aunt. The time had come for her to move from her apartment to an assisted living facility. We went through the process of seeing many facilities and understanding what is provided but we also had the fear of how or whether she would adjust to new surroundings. After seeing several locations, the process led to some frustrations. We were lucky in meeting Eric Myers from the Atria at Kew Gardens. It never felt like a sales meeting when we met Eric. He was able to provide us with lots of valuable information regarding assisted living facilities but also put us at ease with the many concerns that we had and with our aunt’s particular circumstances and needs. With Eric’s guidance we decided to move her to the Atria in Kew Gardens. It was a great decision. She has acclimated well and the staff has ensured that she is well taken care of and enjoys her stay. The staff is amazing and we can’t thank them enough for all that they have done to improve her quality of life. Eric is knowledgeable, warm, and professional and continues to be responsive to any issues or needs that arise. Our aunt is thriving and we are forever grateful.
